- Today, I and my brother and a buddy did a 235 km ride through the winter wonderland that is the Porcupine mountain. We of course, rode vintage sleds because that’s just what we do. I had to hold my phone with my left (brake) hand, so I wasn’t able to go very fast. Enjoy the ride…..we certainly did!

Love cyclones. My brother had a 440 cyclone. He blew it up and got a hold of a dual carb dual pipe 295s race motor that he put in it for a couple seasons, then he got the 440 rebuilt and put it back in with the twin pipes and carbs. That thing was a real screamer
Thanks for the ride!
Great video! You’ve got a great looking sled! The added vent on the hood must help with cooling. I love the sound of the old John Deere machines. Scenery is great too!
Thanks, Doug. Yes I added a few vents to get the warm air out from under my hood. It ran poorly in warm weather and that really helped. I do a fair bit of longer rides and run it pretty hard sometimes so I wanted to do what I could to keep it cool. I put 1250 km on it over three and a half days in early March last year. I hope to do another longish ride this year.
Nothin like fresh and smooth grooming thats not torn up by modern sleds when you are on a leafer. Beautiful pine lined trail ! Is this the " Porkies " by Silver City in the western Yoop ?
It is in the Porcupines near Swan River, Manitoba. Some call it the Porcupine Mountains. But not in the traditional sense of what you might think of mountains. It is more just a large area of forest lands that tower 800 to 1000’ feet above the surrounding prairies. Plenty of lakes and lots of hilly terrain. My favourite place to ride.
