@@TheYoungKilljoythat's a great point. Why can't she make her own iconic dress? Perhaps it's because she just isn't as important or as memorable as Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana or literally any celebrity before her. Not to mention she allegedly stepped into a re-creation AFTER the carpet walk, with the Marilyn dress and wore it for the rest of the evening. I'm not 100% when or if this was confirmed but if its true I honestly think Kim should be charged with destruction of historic property. I am so mad at Ripley for letting this happen to it. she did have a replica its the fact she wanted to wear marylins and not her replica, she was told no, by ripley and idk what went wrong but kim cried to her mommy like a brat and now she was able to wear it
I am a major fan of fashion conservation and it’s so sad to see that garments aren’t treated like art work like if you look into icons Queen Elizabeth 1st and what happened to her garments once she passed you’ll see that they were given away to repay people or recycled and because of this we don’t have as much of an in depth understanding of garments when it comes to history. Yes there are some preserved garments and art work depicting garments but it’s only recently that we’ve started to actually look after garments for historical purposes and for some reason it’s still not as fully respected not only seen by Kim herself but also people like Anna Wintour who should of taken action against kim wearing the Marilyn Monroe dress and doing the opposite of the Mets purpose. But not only that Kim had to change out of the real dress and into a replica which begs the question why she didn’t just wear that in the first place or she could of done something like Billie eilish did the year before and worn a dress inspired by Marilyn. I wonder if the Marilyn “happy birthday” dress will be shown at this years met as a display? Or is it not considered a sleeping beauty enough for it
@@EughhBrothereughh queen Elizabeth was an example but similar things can be seen from this era and even further back and there is history within the garments such as textile techniques and construction techniques of the garment. An example of a long standing technique is beadwork and shibori. Beadwork originally was created through shells, grains and other natural items which can date the beadwork techniques back to historical places such as Egypt. Meanwhile shibori is a technique that can be traced back to 5th century Chinese and 8th century Japanese cultures but this technique often gets mistaken as tie dye which is a similar technique. This can help us understand the past and preserve techniques so that we don’t loose them to time. Also this can help create fashion lines as sometimes people would want to look into a specific technique of sewing and be inspired by that. The past can also show us what was trendy and if certain trends tend to repeat themselves. But a more common example of why conservation of garments is important is because when people are creating works of art such as literature, painting or film/tv it’s always good to be accurate to past garments especially if your trying to be historically accurate (eg: bios and illustrations depicting the past)
I knew it! I just looked it up and it was May 1- it’s a ritual . The met gala is an occult ritual . There is definitely something to her buying those pieces .
For people that may not know: From what I understand, REAL pearls DO NOT just fall apart like that. The strings of pearls are made with little rings in between each of them so that they DONT fall apart. The fact that kims dress fell apart like that, and the laugh she gave after saying they were real, makes me think that they're not. (Feel free to correct me if im wrong)
I have a fresh water pearl necklace from my Great Grandma, and the strings for pearl jewelry are not supposed to fall apart under their own weight like that, unless… A) She’s yanking at the strings constantly, and they inevitably gave into the stress. Or… B) It’s very cheaply, and/or poorly made, with low quality strings for the pearls, that the string couldn’t handle the weight of said pearls. Edit: I personally think it’s probably a combination of the two.
Why does it matter?! One of the HUGEST SCANDLES in American Media history played out on national TV in front of the entire country in that dress! Your Mona Lisa analogy was epic.
I honestly can’t even blame Kim at this point. I am blaming the money hungry people who keep accepting her money and giving her these timeless pieces. Is Ripleys that down bad?
It's crazy how instead of taking inspiration from these deceased historical figures, she has to dress up exactly like them to the point where it's their own clothing. I don't know about you, but I would rather take inspiration to be like them and one day hope that I'd have clothing pieces so gorgeous and iconic that it will be hung in museums and talked about for years to come. There's nothing inspirational about what she's done, I'd rather forget her entirely even more because of it.

I ask myself the same question since I first heard about the Kardashians when I was 10 years old, reading a teen magazine in 2010, why do people like them? They are not "relatable" or even likeable, so why are people so obsessed with them? They don't have any special talents or skills themselves , they just buy talent. They don't make any intelligent contributions or even pretend to be good role models. Can anyone please tell me, why they have such a huge following?
Thr met gala is about preserving fashion. After watching the her in the Marilyn dress I didn't watch the following year. I refuse to believe Anna Wintour has no clue what people will be wearing. The year before the Marilyn dress they gave the Kardashian/Jenner clan a spotlight reel in the museum.

I understand the desires some people have for collecting historically significant and iconic pieces of arts and items. But with Kim, I have the feeling that she is trying to buy the class, the beauty, the reputations and the essence that iconic and timeless women who had left their positive marks in the world. Like how we buy clothes believing we would look exactly like the models on the website but find out we look so different (and even horrible sometime) because we don't have the same body shape as the models or that we're only buying the clothes, models not included. It's like she has this belief that dressing and having the exact same things those women had worn and touch would make her into a woman like them too. And that's the only way she could ever come close to being a timeless iconic woman whose good reputations outweigh the bass and is fondly remembered by general public. Because all she has is money to spend. And money can get you a lot of things. And Kim also seems like someone, despite her claim of loving/obsession with fashion, who doesn't really treat her clothes with love and care. Like almost every fashion obsessed and knowledgeable person I've come across treat every pieces they own with such care (even some thrifted 10 pieces) and they would never think of destroying an historical one of a kind piece of clothing.
As I always comment, it is an institution, the "kardashian family" is a business. they don't care about anything but money and fame, trying to stay relevant. If people still like her, knowing she ruins valuable assets on top of everything else she's done in the past... then those people are clearly delulu. That Monroe dress, the prime example here, those threads are literally torn apart. I just think she's borderline obsessed with what everyone else has and she thinks she will recieve great compliments, she has the money to make the decisions. Like when I found out about Princess Di 's necklace, I genuinely got quite angry in terms of; why does she need that piece of British History? It goes hand in hand with the revenge dress. it's probably just been thrown into a jewellery box with no care, hardly looked at.
Late to the party but funfact: The story you tell about the Mona Lisa is exactly what happened to one of the most famous paintings in the world: Rembrandts "Nachtwacht/Night Watch" because it didn't fit in the City Hall. They cut off 2 ft from the left side and a couple of inches from the other sides.
I showed my dad the side by side comparison of the Marilyn Monroe dress and he brought up a good point “imagine the designers rolling in their graves seeing what Kim k did to their works”
Hot take: I lot of people won’t agree with me, but I think it’s more of the museum and people who let Kim wear it are mostly to blame. They know what she would do with the dress, it’s not like the borrowed it to display, they gave it to her to wear, so they know it’s not going to look the exact same. They should not have let Kim wear it becuase yes, she did destroy the dresses, but that is expected if an old dress is worn, maybe not as much damage as Kim caused but some damage would be done. Yes, kim does not need to seek attention by wearing already iconic dresses to try to make herself the icon, and destroy the dresses in the process, but the careless people who let her wear should not of. That’s why I think everyone shouldn’t really come after Kim, after she is only wearing the dress, wich she got permission for, the muni sums technically own the dresses, so they can decide. It may be a dumb decision but people should be comings for Kim for just wearing it because the ‘owners’ (the museums) of the dress let her wear it, and overall they let her do it so no one should care what she does with it because she got permission. Don’t get mad at her when the meusum gave it to her, it’s not like she took it, wore and destroyed it and the museum didn’t want her to have it, becuase these dresses are so iconic and have a place in history, they should it have been worn, but the museum let her wear it, and if the museum said no, the dress would be the same with no damage, so I think it’s more the meusums fault then Kim. Sorry there are spelling mistakes and I repeated a lot of stuff, I just wrote it and sent it becuase I’m lazy, I don’t really like Kim but I feel like she getting a lot of backlash she doesn’t really deserve
I agree. I understand people are appalled by Kim's entitlement, but truly can we talk about the institutions and our society that ENABLE the wealthy's entitlement and arrogance like crazy ? Shame on the museum for that.
I agree with you. Any old rich person can buy and do the exact same thing, but it was Kim and it's fn to hate on her already, so majority of the hate is on her and not the museum. The museum is not even an actual musuem, it's Ripleys, they're more like one of those places that show freakish things, I don't think they would put in as much resources to preserve things as actual museums.
Marylin‘s (sorry if I spelt her name wrong) belongings and ALL of her iconic dresses ect. should be locked away in a museum and never be given out NO MATTER how much money people offer or they should‘ve just be burried with her. That woman went through so much BS even after her death. People can‘t even leave her alone when she‘s dead
there’s needs to be a law that if you want to wear an historical item, ask the original owner. And if the original owner declined, don’t wear it. And if the original owner is dead, ask the current owner, and if that one declines, then…..it’s illegal babe ✨
❤Love your voice and your way of talking about the K! Wouldnt it be great to tell her how tired we all are of her throwing her money in our face and how Not kool she really is😅
I don’t think it’s a big deal if she ruins dresses that were made for her… they were made for her, she paid for them, and can burn them if she wants lol. But considering it’s almost impossible to wear a dress for hours at an event w/o getting something on it, having it snag on something, (especially dresses w lots of embellishments) or having it rip from you moving around, she shouldn’t have ever been allowed to wear Marilyn’s dress!! Since when are historic dresses in museums available for celebrities to rent for events??!! That shouldn’t be allowed for anyone, ever!! What’s next? Will she ask to wear The Tarkhan Dress?? (The oldest garment in the world, it dates back to the late fourth millennium BC) historic dresses need to remain untouched.
Maybe its weird but I believe that family is deeply into the occult. In some cases if you collect a piece of someone’s possessions you may encounter some of their energy, chi, ashay(ase), spirit etc. Notice she wants possession of some of the most legendary figures to remain in history ( Michael Jackson, Marylyn Monroe, McQueen, Princess Diana) and well she was married to Kayne West and he’s been slightly different ever since being married into that family… If you asked me, I would say she’s collecting energy from highly Iconic historic figures. She really has no Talent to stay so important . The girl is using her witts. She mentioned her friend having access for her alignments. Occult magic
Someone needs to remind her how she became famous, she didn't come from nothing like Marilyn or did the amount of philanthropic work that Princess Diana did for most of her life, buying their personal belongings to have her own iconic moments it's her own little power trip, "i can so i will". If she at least took proper care of her ego driven purchases because they're actually historical pieces then it wouldn't be such a topic.

At this point, the simplest way to think about it is that Kim only gets famous for being a relentless and rich fan girl. you can buy class, but you cant slip into it like a costume. you either have it or you dont. but it can be bought. i can buy hella classy shit, doesnt mean once i wear it it STAYS classy or even looks classy. im not classy so, i cant just put it on and go WOW CLASS... nah, i just look like a potato wearing a classy coat
Ironically, Countess Luann put it best in this song, Money Can't Buy You Class. th-cam.com/video/kEDvlSAMhQU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SttUN3lT-uwicNRc
Well apparently she’s got enough to buy anything she wants from unscrupulous sellers that don’t give a crap about historical pieces. Ground control.
Marilyn had to be sewn into the dress for it to fit her, the kardashisns just need to be ignored
I didn’t know that, it’s kind of depressing to think about😬 the fact that Kim demolished that memory of pinup girl style and Marilyn, and her attention to detail is heartbreaking for any true fashion or modeling nerd, not even one of the kardadhians has a natural hourglass shape that the pinup style is looking for. Now if i ever got to see the dress I’ll be thinking about Kim’s diaper. Rip
@@Binstabih yeah it's sad because it really was made to fit Marilyn's body and nobody else. Its sad to see Kim destroy so many icons fashion pieces. She's got money but she's still trash. The fact she got that Michael Jackson jacket for North, she could have got a replica made. What's even funnier is remember they filmed her getting ready and she was screaming at her sisters to not go near Marilyn's dress so it didn't get ruined, then she destroyed it. Also she had a replica made, why she didn't just wear that I have no idea. But I do think in her head she knew it would make headlines. And any publicity is good publicity to that family. Just sad 😔
I wish America would learn that the sooner we ignore them, the sooner they go away
that doesnt matter, the dress was still made to only fit marilyns body
@@buckygalYES…no audience, no performance.
I think it's creepy that Kim keeps doing this just because she has so much money that she could buy every ordinary person in the world a mansion of there own and still have millions left over . Doesn't mean you should buy these pieces of history.
I think Kim subconsciously ruined these dresses to ruin the legacy of the original owners.
It isn't just obsessed. It's stalkerish. It's as if she's thinking, "If I can't outshine Marilyn and Diana, nobody can".
Wow, that's a perspective I hadn't considered, but you make a great point! And if these items are ruined, they won't be wearable by anyone else, nor will the caretakers be as willing to lend them out again. 😔
Not only that, but Kim has no creativity to make something as memorable by herself. It's so sad
@@TheYoungKilljoythat's a great point. Why can't she make her own iconic dress? Perhaps it's because she just isn't as important or as memorable as Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana or literally any celebrity before her. So, she has to ruin their memorable pieces to inflate her own worth. It's disturbing and disrespectful. In fact, I'm sure I'm not the only one disappointed that she was allowed to do it.
Ms. Kartrashian actually had the nerve to imply that no one even knew or remembered who Marilyn Monroe was until she wore the dress!
Oh my gosh you're spot on. Never thought of that but it makes sense.
i don’t think they understand they’ve been ran out, at this point they’re forcing theirselves onto us 😭
Not to mention she allegedly stepped into a re-creation AFTER the carpet walk, with the Marilyn dress and wore it for the rest of the evening. I'm not 100% when or if this was confirmed but if its true I honestly think Kim should be charged with destruction of historic property. I am so mad at Ripley for letting this happen to it. Honestly Kim and the whole family is just one of the worst parts of society and they need to stop being considered famous because honestly they're no better then anyone else.
she did have a replica its the fact she wanted to wear marylins and not her replica, she was told no, by ripley and idk what went wrong but kim cried to her mommy like a brat and now she was able to wear it
why are the kardashians so obssessed with marliyn. so creepy
Because they genuinely think that Kim is modern day Marilyn Monroe
She wants to be her so badly but she can’t. Just like some people keep buying luxury bags even under debt because they want to be the rich.
In her dreams
Because she was something they can only dream of being.
Kim even owns some of Marilyn's hair !!! So creepy
Or is it not considered a sleeping beauty enough for it
I think there r bigger issues in the world than knowing what Elizabeth the I wardrobe looked like
@@EughhBrothereughh queen Elizabeth was an example but similar things can be seen from this era and even further back and there is history within the garments such as textile techniques and construction techniques of the garment.
There has so be some weird occult meaning to it. What day is the met on? First week of May? I know May 1 is a big day for these sickos
I knew it! I just looked it up and it was May 1- it’s a ritual . The met gala is an occult ritual . There is definitely something to her buying those pieces .
For people that may not know:
From what I understand, REAL pearls DO NOT just fall apart like that. The strings of pearls are made with little rings in between each of them so that they DONT fall apart. The fact that kims dress fell apart like that, and the laugh she gave after saying they were real, makes me think that they're not.
(Feel free to correct me if im wrong)
They were fresh water pearls. She acted like they were South Sea pearls...lol.
I have a fresh water pearl necklace from my Great Grandma, and the strings for pearl jewelry are not supposed to fall apart under their own weight like that, unless…
A) She’s yanking at the strings constantly, and they inevitably gave into the stress.
Or…
B) It’s very cheaply, and/or poorly made, with low quality strings for the pearls, that the string couldn’t handle the weight of said pearls.
Is Ripleys that down bad?
they did tell her no, idk what happened all i know is kim cried to her mom and somehow her mom convinced them to let kim wear it
It's crazy how instead of taking inspiration from these deceased historical figures, she has to dress up exactly like them to the point where it's their own clothing. I don't know about you, but I would rather take inspiration to be like them and one day hope that I'd have clothing pieces so gorgeous and iconic that it will be hung in museums and talked about for years to come. There's nothing inspirational about what she's done, I'd rather forget her entirely even more because of it.
im just imaging her digging out Michael jackson and stealing his suit
no way stop it i just watched the entire video 💀💀💀💀
She's the reason why Michael turns into a smooth criminal.

why is the 2024 met gala theme giving Kim a legitimate excuse to destroy another historical attire?
shes not being in the 2024 met gala, as far as i know they banned her from the met gala

the fabric that gown is made of is banned for its high flammability. Cher's dresses by Mackie were often made of this fabric, known as souffle (sooh full). You can import it, but it doesn't have much stretch. Bob Mackie helped with this dress, too, interestingly. This gown should have been in the Smithsonian, not Ripley's. She wrecked it. It's a crime. I was thrilled when Taylor Swift gave her Time interview and said, "Trash takes itself out everytime." I know exactly how well that was aimed at Kimye.

She also wore a Thierry Mugler dress that was so tight, she couldn’t sit down in it to the 2019 Met Gala.
Whoever keeps giving her these one in a million clothes needs to be FIRED! Cause they're obviously putting profit over morals
This is why she doesnt tell her kids no because nobody has ever told this girl no! Anna wintour please do not envite reality star (peoples) that feel entitled just because they have money met gala seems to have lost its value even kanye west can see!

what did she even do to deserve to wear historical masterpieces in fabric form ?? have sex on video decades ago? that’s all i can think of 😭
I blame Kanye because he is the one who knew about fashion iconography and was the one who was connected to the fashion industry. He started this and she turned into a ravenous monster about it. 😂
Once Anna Wintour accepted her it was all downhill from there.
2:10 BRO I LOVE HOW SHE CENCORED KIM'S NAME 😂😂😂😂
I ask myself the same question since I first heard about the Kardashians when I was 10 years old, reading a teen magazine in 2010, why do people like them? They are not "relatable" or even likeable, so why are people so obsessed with them? They don't have any special talents or skills themselves , they just buy talent. They don't make any intelligent contributions or even pretend to be good role models. Can anyone please tell me, why they have such a huge following?
They’re conventionally pretty, rich, and almost always in drama. Basically most celebrities in a nutshell.

Facts😂
“Kim’s reign of terror.“ 😆 😆 😆
Late to the party but funfact: The story you tell about the Mona Lisa is exactly what happened to one of the most famous paintings in the world: Rembrandts "Nachtwacht/Night Watch" because it didn't fit in the City Hall. They cut off 2 ft from the left side and a couple of inches from the other sides.
I showed my dad the side by side comparison of the Marilyn Monroe dress and he brought up a good point “imagine the designers rolling in their graves seeing what Kim k did to their works”
Kims been cringe since day one. People are just no carring about calling out that preppy i can use money to get whatever kinda people.

Girlie you look so good! I love your outfit and everything while talking about drama! 😂
Your hair looks Fabulous!!!!
There’s no way that Marylin Monroe’s dress would’ve stayed the same.
Kim Kardashian is bigger in shape, and the material is old
Why wouldn’t Kim just get a replica made, that would be smarter!!

Let’s hate on a literal child hey?
Marylin‘s (sorry if I spelt her name wrong) belongings and ALL of her iconic dresses ect. should be locked away in a museum and never be given out NO MATTER how much money people offer or they should‘ve just be burried with her. That woman went through so much BS even after her death. People can‘t even leave her alone when she‘s dead
Someone needed to say that
there’s needs to be a law that if you want to wear an historical item, ask the original owner. And if the original owner declined, don’t wear it. And if the original owner is dead, ask the current owner, and if that one declines, then…..it’s illegal babe ✨

I love this kind of content 💀💀💀
Maybe its weird but I believe that family is deeply into the occult. In some cases if you collect a piece of someone’s possessions you may encounter some of their energy, chi, ashay(ase), spirit etc. Notice she wants possession of some of the most legendary figures to remain in history ( Michael Jackson, Marylyn Monroe, McQueen, Princess Diana) and well she was married to Kayne West and he’s been slightly different ever since being married into that family…
If you asked me, I would say she’s collecting energy from highly Iconic historic figures. She really has no Talent to stay so important . The girl is using her witts. She mentioned her friend having access for her alignments. Occult magic
I'd like to see them actually not get invited.
North should keep those pearls and make art with it. Art threapy will be good for her.

Like you said, there should be a law that forbida these dresses to be worn.

Honestly, I think Kim is just trying too hard to be famous to the point she thinks she’s on the same level as Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana etc. but the fact is she has nvr and probably will nvr achieve the greatness they’ve achieved. At this point, the simplest way to think about it is that Kim only gets famous for being a relentless and rich fan girl. She hasn’t contributed anything meaningful to our society and she only got to where she is now because she was just at the right place at the right time. Harsh but true.
1000% agree. By stalking her claim on these pieces she’ll forever be mentioned as if she herself was great.
