Best Football I’ve ever owned. It has really good grip, I really like the sewn on laces vs the painted on laces, I think it gives it better grip. I’ve had this football for 4 years, and it looks absolutely terrible, it looks 10 years old, but it still has grip, and it still works the same as the very day I bought it. Definitely money well spent!

I love mine as well. I just put up a short re: the two different break in processes I used, and I still think they both feel great to throw.

The prep process is a big deal for the receivers, the gloves stick better due to less dimpled, softer footballs due to the surface area contact. And the process is easier when you know which steps are for what purpose. The initial shaving cream/brush is to break the factory seal coating of the leather and allow the ball to be prepped, then you lotion for color and softness while it’s wet and allow it to dry. Then you’re supposed to brush and apply mud to the ball. When brushing in the mud it micro-scores the ball making it softer, grippier and also darker due to the mud color. After that is all done you apply the tack to apply extra stick and brush it to set it. The reason the second ball feels better is because of the work you did scoring the ball with the brush and tack.

Ah good feedback! The ball that didn’t get any of the extras definitely feels worse, and that seems to be why!
It’s fun breaking in these balls in either case though, I’m sure some people would prefer the conditioned/darker ball even if I don’t.

@@CBPJoey If you read Wilson web site it tell you that the Omega is Pre-Treated leather & ready for game day

Random question, I purchased the Omega aswell from a different retailer. Mine looks the exact same as yours. Are they suppose to look like this? Even new from how it came, brushing the football virtually does nothing to it.

Aswell why is the leather so dark. Mines like that too and the ball feels like complete garbage lol.

It's TERRIBLE eh! I honestly don't think theres any way that I have the same ball I've seen in some of the Shorts clips. That one short where the guy is brushing the ball for 30 days and it darkens up and looks like real leather for example - there's zero chance I have the same ball.
Post a pic of it on Twitter and tag me, I'll take some good pics of mine and reply. @joeytweeets

How did you break it in like with mud

With the lighter coloured ball, I only used the brush and tack bar.
The darker coloured ball: wiped off with warm rag, shaving cream, brushing, leather conditioner, tack bar. A way more time consuming process though I prefer the state of the lighter ball more.
