Love your videos and your editing. Voila! Your videos give me that adreline rush which only a fancier can feel. Thanks for glimpses of your birds after the action.
Excellent videos! You've got some courage and let your pigeons free also during winter months, while almost everybody in my country (incl. myself), closes them in the loft since mid November till mid March. You show here that your pigeons get used to such merciless pigeon specialised killer as Peregrine Falcon is. Then I am sure you have minimum losses during racing season when your pigeons are tough and ready for any kind of raptors' attack. Good luck, man, you do a great job with your pigeons.
Thank you. We also close the pigeons November-March like you, my racing team is closed. This is an experimental group that I don't fly at the club, I can't stay without seeing birds flying for half of the year so I try to adapt them. During summer they are free range stock birds and I do move a few of their babies in the racing team, after all they were all late eggs from the best racers, eggs that we'd normally put to trash, but I decided to give them a chance to spread their wings. This is the 5th year of the experiment.
@@Pigeonmaniacom This is really cool experiment and proves that pigeons can well adapt to the constant predator's pressure. First thing I notice, is that your pigeons don't panic when falcons keeps attacking them. What happens to pigeons who are not used to falcon (and I observed this myself on my pigeons) is that they are extremely scared of falcon and panic like crazy, which means that after the first attack the group of pigeons is shattered and every single pigeon's trying to fly away on his own, usually if pigeons fly in height around the loft, after the first falcon attack, pigeons drop from height down and fly far away from the loft, usually coming back at least after 1hour or more (some pigeons are lost not because they were hunted down by falcon, but because they crashed to some obstacles while escaping in panic). In contrary your pigeons keep flying high, but allways around the loft, sometimes they even keep close to the falcon (like it was some harmless raptor like buzzard for instance), being attacked they get partly ungrouped, but well soon after the attack they regroup again, which keeps them much more safe.
@@cihakracingpigeons5837 Yes, I noticed that sometimes they get very scared - mine did the same at the beginning. Experience is a factor but this also happens when they are fat and not fit, because they realise they can't handle the explosive falcon speed. Even these pigeons that you saw would get very scared at the new attacks if I close them in the loft for a few days and feed them more.
Man over here in the southern NJ we have the cooper hawks they are nasty they hide in the trees when the birds land then he try to get them. What type a falcon is the one trying to get your birds ? Excellent and fast birds and video.👍
It is a peregrine falcon, trying hawk style action lately. We have hawks too, they even try to enter the loft, so I never let the pigeons out when I'm not around. Good thing - when the falcon is down the hawks stay away.

@@Zombie_Longwinger Peregrine has got to get the height for the dive then its unbeatable, but in a horizontal flight a lot of pigeons escape, pigeon has 360 vision and can also out manoeuvre the falcon. cheers.

Do you think the pigeons enjoy the chase of the falcon.
Maybe they do as they do not fly straight back home as soon as they are chased?
Great videos
No, but at home there is another problem: sometimes the hawk waits for them in the nearby forest.

Nothing beats a Peregrine in flight there is a reason they are the most successful avian predator.
Definitely, but its got to get height for the dive, a good pigeon can dodge it, pigeon has secret weapon 360 degrees vision and great maneuverability.
