I am a turkey hunter from NY, and one of my best hunts was when a fast moving thunderstorm moved through. There were gobblers answering every roll of thunder!!
I his under a rock outcrop and waited out the storm. Afterward moved into a hemlock bottom, and called in a slamming Tom!!

Great podcast!! New to turkey hunting. Only my second year. Haven’t heard any birds yet but a lot of great info!

I will be 71 for this next turkey season. It will be my first and really looking forward to it. I got my first deer this year with my crossbow and processed it as well. Love it

Great show. But I disagree on the whole call shy mith. Turkeys hear hens calling 365 days a year.

I don't know much about turkey. That's why I'm here. However, I know an offensive amount about deer.
The Nocturnal Deer Myth is so pervasive it's not even funny. They eat five times a day whether you're in the woods or not. They move during lockdown, too (just not as far).
Just because they're spending their daytime activities away from broadcasts of loud, smelly, disruptive, threatening, and deadly predators coming in seasonal waves they've already experienced doesn't mean they're suddenly a nocturnal animal 😂 They're just messing around away from you!
