This was SUPER helpful. 9/10. Now if I could just understand the difference between "Qué te pasa?" / What's wrong? and "Cuál es tu problema?" / What's your problem? They both require explanations, and don't they both have many answers to choose from?
There are other differences we go based off. Expressions and explanations. "¿Qué te pasa?" uses qué because it’s seeking an open-ended explanation or description of the person's current state. ¿Cuál es tu problema? (What’s your problem?) uses cuál because it’s seeking to identify a specific problem from a set of possible issues. Qué te pasa is also an empathetic expression. The second one is more confrontational. You would use it when someone is being rude to you, or their behavior is disrespectful.
9 de 10. Muchisimas gracias! Llevo varios años estudiando español y recientemente me convertí en un tutor de español para mi Universidad. Un estudiante me preguntó sobre este tema, y la verdad no sabia muy bien como explicarselo. Ahora entiendo muchisimo mejor, ¡gracias!
Thanks so much for this video when you said cual is used when what could it be out of many choices and que is there is only one definition that helped clear things up tremendously. Great video man.. I finished the coarse now just going over it trying to pick up speed now. 👍🏽
I got 3/10 and I never looked up the definitions just went with what felt right to say. As that is how young children tough by their native Spanish parents are tough they learn not by going online for hours, but by physical experience.
Regarding number three, what differentiates the multiple choices for what the subject might wear from the multiple choices for the subject's possible last name in question number two? 6/10, by the way.
Hey Rocky, thanks SOOO much for this. I got 8 out of 10 right. I know you said that you welcome suggestions from your viewers so I don't know if this would be of any interest to you but could you maybe also do a few scenario vids like you did with the one at the airport but more for a doctor's office or hospital. I work in a doctor's office and have been trying desperately to learn Spanish so I can communicate with some Spanish patients but I'm REALLY struggling, even with just the basic questions in a medical setting (MINUS the medical terms of course). LOL I'm not suggesting anything in depth and technical but just your basic: "What brings you into the office today?" or "What kind of medical insurance do you have?" or "Your appointment is scheduled for...." kinda thing. ;-) I spent a whole night trying to find anything I could on this very thing and I only found one video that I'm trying to use but I really like your style and way of explaining things so if you would please, PLEASE make a "Visit to the Doctor" Spanish video. Thanks! Keep up the good work!!! :-)
6 right answers out of 10 Hey thanks this is my first time seeing your Spanish lesson and I really enjoyed it you’re a great teacher i look forward to taking this journey with you thank you so much
thank you, my spanish is pretty good because I travelled a lot but also live in Chicago and just so happened to not have many English speaking friends. My friends make fun of my accent, somehow I picked up a Mexican ranchero accent, everyone finds it hillarious but when I went to Puerto Rico I had a really difficult times especially in San Juan, understanding anything. I went from feeling confident to feeling like I did not know a single word of Spanish. I am not reviewing these types of lessons and get all the answers correct and I even put the speed up to 1.25 or 1.5 because in the city of San Juan everyone talks very fast. My biggest thing is trying to understand different accents. Any advice?
8/10 I'm at an A1 level but managed to notice a pattern right away. My best guess was that Qué is asking about a thing that is and Cúal is asking someone about themself. Going forward I'm going to remember the "many things" rule of using Cúal. Gracias por la leccion.
It seems to me like the major difference is qué is used for general concepts while cual us for definite specific things. "¿Cual es tu problema?" is referring to a specific instance of a problem.
9/10 which I’m super surprised as I didn’t understand any of the questions lol. Your channel is dope af sir. I just got to Miami and it’s helping me so much!
I got 7/10......... this is Fun, It allows me to know how far i know about que and cual, thank you Rocky for this clear and easy to understand explanation, 😎 gracias😎
Ok you said que before nouns.. like .. Que numero es? But if we put ES first does it change to Cual? Even though it’s basically the same type of question. Por ejemplo… CUAL es tu numero?
Hey man, my Spanish is good, but the problem is since I am not native, and I am trying/thinking I am learning general Spanish, but I am actually learning Spanish from everywhere messing up my Spanish. I am learning the Puerto Rican dialect as my family is Puerto Rican, but never tough me. Where can I find TH-cam Puerto Rican channels, and Puerto Rican only interviews so I can learn the dialect. Tired of sounding like a bunch of other stuff. (Me speaking Spanish is like a English learner learning the British accent and American southern accent and using both dialects, it is weird.)
Good question Antonio. I would start with some channels like Molusco TV and Chente Ydrach. Those are some of my favorites. And then from there TH-cam algorithm will send you down the rabbit hole lol.
Hey Ricky ! I also got 9/10 . . . . (got No. 2 wrong :-( ! ) I took a guess at some of the answers because they were all a little quick for me. Numero 3 was questionable because it had (in my opinion) multiple answers. I loved the trick in No.6 but managed to use my instinct ;-) Really love the channel and the content is excellent. Keep up the good work - you have very considerate and forward thinking teaching style which I really enjoy and appreciate x
I got nine out of ten :D Kinda surprised because I didn't really know what most of the questions meant (Not even number five lol) but apparently I just somehow knew if it was Que or Cual, so yay
That's what happens when you consume a lot of Spanish. Naturally you will know the right answers. It's the same in your Native language. I guarantee there are some grammar rules you don't know but automatically do correctly because of the amounts of inputs you've received!

I got 4 correct, even though I’m VERY new to learning Spanish. I’m enjoying your videos, thank you Rocky!
7/10 I am pleased with that as I have not studied the differences yet. I just knew 7 of them naturally. Great lesson!! Thanks!!
I got 10 out of 10, even though I'm a beginner! During the quiz, I used for definitions and for selections.
Thanks so much for this video when you said cual is used when what could it be out of many choices and que is there is only one definition that helped clear things up tremendously. Great video man.. I finished the coarse now just going over it trying to pick up speed now. 👍🏽
