I was going to vote Labour at the next election with a pinched nose, but to be honest they've done their very best to put me off. I'd only vote for them now if they said they'd reform the voting system to PR but they've basically poo poo'd that idea so I'll probably just vote Green if they have a candidate around me. Which is a complete waste of my time and energy because another party are a complete shoo-in in my area...

Yes. This is all just trivial scraping around the edges. We have a growing wealth inequality (supposedly a 20% increase in billionaires since covid) that needs to be dealt with. The Wealth Tax Commission said that just a 1% wealth tax on a couple's net assets in excess of £1 million could generate £260bn spread over 5 years. These people will generally get better rates of return on their investments than the average person and will hardly even notice a 1% charge. The focus needs to switch to taxes on wealth rather than income.

UK Labour is going the direction of Australian Labor, conservative Lite. So concerned about winning the committed conservative votes that they are ignoring their core demographic. I really do wish I could sympathise with what she's trying to say when probed about green policies; it'd be nice if she could say "yes we're committed" followed with "hoping the economy has stabilised and it's *fully* possible to spend", even just half of that would be a start for four years and could lead into further investment - dependent on economy, factors, bla bla - if elected again. But she just dodges and jibes like any old tory, just wearing different colours.
