      I broke a tooth eating popcorn. Bit into an unpopped kernel and the entire side of my wisdom tooth broke off. Natsuki’s reaction was funny but I was cringing too because I’ve been there myself and it was horrific. But I’ve also popped my jaw out just eating bread like bruschetta or giant sandwiches on thick crusty bread. So yeah just bread can be dangerous. Learned to chew carefully over the years...

      I cracked a filling when I was eating popcorn, on an unpopped kernel... but because it was just the side of the tooth (completely done), I didn't notice too much (just felt a twinge of pain) it was when I went to floss and pulled that piece of tooth away that I knew something was wrong... I don't eat popcorn anymore.

      After a year of eating soft peppermints, my wisdom teeth began to hurt. After dealing with it for weeks and having no insurance here in America for a dental visit, I finally got an unexpected solution. While eating Chex Mix between classes at college, I felt extra particles in my mouth. No one was around so I spat them into my hand to realize in horror and relief that the tooth had flat out dissolved O_o Both of my wisdoms are now gone but I've also stopped eating soft peppermints. I like hard mints though it it's easier to just suck on those.

    My forever favorite life event was when I was asked to help some Filipino workers that wanted to get into airsoft with our small group on Sundays. The genuine love and joy that can be made through language barriers with someone is amazingly influential. For 9 years we've been celebrating holidays and having get togethers as they have no family here. Now in 2020 it is more than ever that I feel how great the friendship we have and I truly value how much I've learned through them, mostly learned to laugh but that is important!

      I've tried liquorice many times, but I just can't bring myself to like it. The taste is just horrible to me, for some reason. I think salmiakki came the closest to not being completely disgusting, and that was only because the saltiness hid the liquorice taste a little bit.

    • @rdizzy1
      @rdizzy1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It isn't just because it's liquorice, it's because it is salted liquorice, I've had strong tasting liquorice black jelly beans and what not that I like, because they are sweet, not savory. The salt is what makes them taste like shit. And I love salt as well, I put it on all of my food, always.

    I recently learned that salty liquorice is a "Scandinavia only" thing. That itself is quite shocking to a Norwegian like myself, but it's absolutely startling to learn that most people outside Scandinavia can't stand the taste! Cause Scandinavians are like salted liquorice addicts. About 1/3 of the "pick and mix" candy shelf is salty liquorice.
    PS! The pronunciation of Djungelvrål is "youngel-vrawl", the you-part pronounced like "you", not "young". Djungelvrål means "jungle scream" in Swedish. Kind of makes sense after seeing your reaction.
