Bro i know a few things about cannons and at the first sign of stress you need to shelf the cannon and make a stronger better cannon stress cracks in the paint it the very first sign on catastrophic failure. The cannon has a power bulge. It means you should put more powder next time to stretch the metal all the way to the top to fully season it. Cannons 101.

Since water cannot be compressed, for a fraction of a second a column of water directly behind the impact of the bowling ball acts as a solid and tries to exit the tote.
You need to weigh the powder on a scale to get the proper amount of powder. 4 ounces of powder by weight is different than 1/2 cup or 4 fluid ounces. Great videos. Stay safe!
1/2 the force is lost just from the cannon not being held from moving backwards so much. Sand bags work well for this and from watching most your vids I'm pretty sure ya have plenty of sand around ta use.

Remember there's a difference between Fluid Ounces and The weight measure Ounces. 1 Cup is 4 ounces of water. But powder is much lighter than water, so that half cup you are using is likely less than an ounce of powder.
The power is still incorrect. You need to use F or FF powder as the FFF is a quick burning powder for black powder pistols. FF is for rifles. Single F is better for larger diameter bores. But going to black power is better than smokeless powder. You will get less peak power at least.
And he was using Triple Seven if I read the jar correctly. It's a black powder substitute that works fine as a propellant in firearms but unlike true black powder will not work as an explosive. That's how it was explained to me anyway. There might be more to it though. 🤓🍻

I wasn't going to say anything because of the lateness I'm seeing these but I've seen to many not to say anything. Put your powder in tinfoil, load it into your cannon put your bowling ball in take a tool called a prick and poke it through the fuse hole and poke a hole through the tinfoil. Push your fuse through the fuse hole and through the hole in the tinfoil. Now you don't have trouble with your powder dispersing and not blasting out the cannon ball.
As a general rule of thumb you take the weight of your projectile in grains and match that with powder and then you work your load from there up or down however you need so if you are shooting a 110 grain ball your max load will probably be 110 grains of powder but the optimal load will be somewhere around 80 meaning all powder is burnt and all of the gases are sufficiently used to push the projectile out of the barrel when using larger-diameter projectiles you want a courser grain of powder with a cannon you should be using 1f or Canon specific powder
That's not really true at all. 130 gr projectile from a 6.5 CM have a varying max charge weight. Around 42 grains of powder. .338 Lau shooting 300 grain projectile max charge weight is around 90 grains. That's about 90-95% case volume too. No way 300 grains of powder would fit. A 110 grain projectile with 110 grain powder charge would likely result in major over pressure issues.
10lb ball would be like 70000 grains😂🤣. Im not sure how you came up with this. I can't think of a 110 grain projectile that would hold anywhere near 110 grains in the case. Some wouldn't even hold half of that!
Guys, he is dealing with black powder, not IMR something. That is how muzzle loaders figured how much to load in a muzzle loading rifle. I would err on the side of caution for distance and cover the first time AND measure the resulting bulge to see how thin the barrel is now.
