Zamazenta was only bad because of the overarching problem with pure defensive pokemon. Offense only needs one stat, atk or spatk and maybe spd if you feel jazzy. Defensive or tank mons need to care about hp, def and apdef, 3 stats opposed to just 1. If considering specialisation, 300 in atk is better than 100 in each of the three. Even 150 in atk is better. Zam benefit literally nothing from new item, it just that Zacian can’t use clear amulet while Zam doesn’t care about attack drop to begin with. Both Zacian and Zam got the same nerf as well.
To be honest, GF gave Zacian too much tools in Gen 8 and gave too little in comparison for Zamazenta. I feel like this is really deserving.
@@pallpksp9142*gen 8 but yeah
And a meta focused on spread move with poor Wide Guard distribution
Behemoth👏bash👏should👏use👏defense👏like👏body👏press👏
9:11 "Miraidon is Miraidon." So funny but so true 😂😭
As someone who got shield right before entering competitive, I love to see my boy eating
Zamazenta’s neft went from it catching a stray to a preemptive strike
I’ve always loved Zamazenta more. Now it’s its time to shine.
Imagine if pokemon ever releases a move that uses spdef for damage calculation and gives Zamazenta both it and the boosting move Cosmic Power. Zamazenta would become a crazy mixed defensive sweeper
Finally it's Zamazenta's time to shine.
I still think Zamazenta has a better design and isn't just a dog with a sword in its mouth
Agreed, sword in mouth trope is silly. Doesn’t help that Zacian can learn biting moves for some reason
The heroic shield dog and the nefarious sword cat making the best duo is amazing.
Zamazenta has been my day one so im happy to see him prosper
"Miraidon is Miraidon."
Truer words have never been spoken, Sandwich boi is a beast.
That was the biggest U-Turn I've ever seen
I’m so glad Zamazenta has been getting some attention. It’s been my favorite Pokémon ever since it got introduced and I feel like it’s design was super underrated... I just really like it’s color scheme lol
That’s why I picked shield over sword when those games first came out. Zamazenta’s design was so cool. I didn’t know this at the time either, but miraidon is better than koraidon due to not having any 4x weaknesses. I picked violet as my main at the time because it had the present-day version exclusives I wanted to have on my team
"When you use Iron Defense, you improve your offense and defense at the same time, something that ordinary Pokémon can't do."
Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Quiver Dance, Victory Dance, Coil and non-Ghost Curse Users: Are we a joke to you?
Nice to see my favorite Galarian legendary getting highlighted
It brings a smile to my face to see that my two favorite legendary Pokémon got time in the spotlight
I actually like the set where you drop protect and just run Iron D, Heavy slam, body press, wide guard. I can't bring myself to drop one of these, they are all too good.
bruh I remember zamazenta being legal in gen 9 ou for a while, this is hilarious
I think a lot of people expected this outcome after people started seeing the Body Press Kommo-O absolutely just one-tap things even after just a single Iron Defense. STAB Body Press is brutal.
Zamazenta with Body Press is the equivalent of Dr. mundo from League of Legends with Sunfire, tanky and deals enough damage to be considered a threat.
Always happy to see some Freezai VGC content
crazy how Zacian became too honest
Ice Rider also outclassed Shadow Rider & became no. 2... The dominance of the underrated powerhouses... In someday, Koraidon would defeat Miraidon...
Zamazenta got that DAWG in it
*From Zero to Crowned Hero: A Zamazenta Story*
Coming soon to theaters near you.
Love the description you gave Miridon, gave me great info
What Getting STAB Body Press on an Actual Defense stat that Gets stonger the first time you Switch in does to a MF (Also, Iron Defense to make it even stronger).
Ah, I love seeing my shield doggo finally getting the time to shine!
All we need now is a move that does more damage the higher your Special Defense and special attack is. And we will have them all. (Foul Play, wring out and Body Press)
I was waiting for you to make a video on this. Didnt think you would be this fast tho. Well done as always
Gotta love how gen 9 has allowed two of the peast respected legendaries to become tournament winners.
I always loved Zama from the first day
Zacian had to step aside for the new sword legendary while Zama finally gets to let his shield shine
However stacking defense means nothing against a special attacker.
Body press allows zamazenta to use a limited power budget to specialise into a key stat.
I love both zacian and zamazenta, zacian by far my favorite and one of the coolest legendaries. I'm glad zamazenta getting love, would be cool to see both have a worlds title
TIL zamazenta didn't have body press in gen 8
Zam was my favourite looking out of the shield/sword duo. I'm glad it's finally getting the attention it always deserved.
