Great video. As someone living in Germany for the last five years and working here as a Telecommunications Engineer, I can ascertain that these stats are fairly accurate. One small caveat. All these salary numbers are gross monthly salaries. Taxes and social security contributions are around 40-42%. So, if you're earning 5000 Euros as gross monthly salary, you're likely to take home around 3000 Euros every month. With regards to high demand fields, automotive software is huge here in Germany and yet often overlooked. Most of the automotive companies have a separate software division (eg Elektrobit for Continental, CARIAD for Volkswagen) and there are many amazing mid sized automotive software companies catering to these huge OEMs. So IT professionals have lots of opportunities in the automotive sector as well.

Hello from Romania! It was a nice to hear that you visited my home country. I just moved in Germany and your videos are helping me so much, because I relate to your stories on how you got here and how you started your professional life here. I find it a bit hard to find a job here, even if I'm an mechanical engineer (well I only got 2sh years of experience in the field), but my german is not very good and I get rejected everywhere i apply. I am attending a German course for now, but I fear that it will take me a lot of time to be able to speak properly in German and all my experience will go to waste, untill I can find a job. Anyway I am confident that everything is going to work out for me, but maaan the wait is killing me. Keep up the good work!

Speaking German is key to finding a job in Germany. I've seen a video by an US expat and she learned German by taking courses and simultaniously working a low skilled job in Germany (I think in a supermarket). That way she was forced to hear and speak a lot German every day at work. I think she was fluent in German (C1) in about 3 months.

Could you please do a video on income tax rates in Germany? If not, could you please help me with my query down below:
I found on many websites that even after getting paid 4k - 5k euros a month as salary, it doesn't benefit much since we have to pay 45-50% of our income as tax. If that is true, then in a much more real sense, our take-home salary would be very less (2-2.5k/month).
Why I'm worried more about this is due to the reason that most of us have to take Education loans to study abroad, and we would want to cover that up as fast as possible and save some money for family and stuff. So, if the tax situation is correct then how can we better manage life in Germany as a whole, being a person from a middle-class family in India.

Great video and insights! just a short question that probably was answered already in the chat below: i guess when speaking about those monthly salaries the numbers you mention are in gross/month? and one more, I am interested in what an Electrical Engineer should be worth with 10 years of experience. Thanks!

Hi, i have a general question. I'll be finishing my bachelors here in DE soon. I am currently working as a Werkstudent at a Briefzentrum, and ideally i want to work there full-time after my studies since i want to save bit money for my masters abroad. I know that i have to change the 'Zweck' of my permit then, but do i necessarily have to get a job that is related to my study field? z.B. i am doing environmental studies/management, thanks!

You should have called this video "highest demand jobs that have above average salary" or something like that. Because much higher demand are professions like elder or disability care workers, social workers, nurses, doctors, etc, but not all those professions are super high paying.

I have completed my bachelors in psychology (3 years degree) and also completed an internship of 8 months in dementia care.
