I live in farm country on a blacktop road. Most local roads around here are gravel/dirt (mostly dirt). I had a 14' with the liners. I could spray and pressure wash and still never get all the red clay mud out.
Actually man I did the math, I got my bed sprayed by LineX for $550, and bought GM wheel liners for $130 and Line X offer a lifetime warranty over GM 3 years.
Thank you for this video. I just got the same truck and love it and looking to do this same work. Now that you have had it for some times, how do you feel about having the hood fully covered with the ppf vs. the typical precut kit where it only covers the front portion, would you say covering the front portion is plenty coverage in real world use?
Streetzlegend I took the savings for the partial hood. They did offer a pre cut full hood option, but I didn’t see the value of areas not in impact areas. I never notice the line partly on my hood either. If I were to add more, it would be just above the wind shield. I had a rock chip up there on my last truck that rusted pretty bad. Should have gotten after it with a touch up pen right away.
@@TruckOwnership101 that's good to know. I am being offered a full hood bulk sheet, full fenders, grill, lights, door handle cups, a pillars and front of the roof, for $720. Does that sound about right from your experience?
Streetzlegend sounds good if it’s the high quality film. Self healing, UV protected, should never discolor. Around 10 year warranty. Hopefully yours also covers the front bumper if it’s not chrome lol. RSTs one downside was the rock magnet painted bumper. Loved the look though.
@@TruckOwnership101 yeah it's the scotchgard 3m. The warranty is only if installed by a shop. I have the chrome, It looks like this kit covers it too. I think I am going for it and might do a video to share. Mine is an lt all star, the chrome is growing on ne but the rst looks nice with body color.
2BrokeJokes ha, I couldn’t even talk them into a free hat! I did get the truck for $12,630 below MSRP in March of 2019, That was pretty rock bottom pricing from my experience of shopping around for weeks.
Matty 100%X35 I think the only other places I am afraid of getting chips are the edge above the windshield, and maybe the tailgate. I pull a trailer often and sometimes a rocks can bounce from them and back onto the truck. I also wondered if chip guards would help with rust if you put it on the inside of the wheel well...🤔
It is one of the hot spots they recommend. TBH if I had to pick one more spot it would be above the wind shield. I had a rock chip that paint on my last truck and it got away from me and rusted pretty badly.
danny gappa, Oh you paid for them lol. One way or another. My dealership Included (note how I didn’t say free) a lifetime power train warranty. Unlike you, I get to pick my oil, plus I trust my hands more then some kid in the back they pay minimum wage to do their “free” oil changes.
14000 miles on my LT no rock chips and still flawless .. granted I don't follow other vehicles closely and not ever 500 highway miles all suburb driving
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. I have a TrailBoss and have the same thoughts as you. Appreciate the video and keep them coming!

I just wrapped my mine. That will also help protect the paint.
2BrokeJokes I am terrified of the razor blades. I’ve seen some ugly cuts into the car after wrap being removed.

Do your own oil change and use Amsoil. I go 12-15000 between changes.
