    Good idea to split to 3parts.maybe long winded but details a must what an how to.to important on the later equipment from You who are trained an been there.little problems get big fast as time is and as expensive as equipment is a make or break deal.farming is risky enough.and you know as well break downs best done when in shop or as time allows before in the field.bet ya missed supper and did without and understood customer needs taking to them.You earn your keep.hats off to you and all other techs.another Awsome. Hey just curious.. what do you do when you come across a John Deere with a hacked ECU? Do you void their warranty?

    • @ZKMasterTech
      @ZKMasterTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No I don’t care what the customer does to their ECU as long as it doesn’t cause an issue with the engine. I run into steinbauer chips all the time. If the chip causes the issue, I just unplug it. If the problem goes away then I tell them they need to get with steinbauer.

      A new combine can be $300,000-$800,000. Just depends which model you’re looking at. Maintenance just depends on hours used and how hard it was ran. Too big of variance between models/use.

    Can you get Deere to put a shorter feeder house safety stand in? Our machine a s790 with fore and aft gets full of trash at the bottom rear of the feeder house face plate not allowing the safety stand to be put into place. It's a Huge safety hazard for us as you have to get under the feeder house without the safety stand in place to clean it out.

    Why hasn't Deer moved to a direct drive, electric motor, diesel powered drive train? engine to alternator to direct drive motors on the hubs. This would then extend engine life and decrease components by a large percentage.

    Also you are running through a diagnostic of the machine. Doesn't the machine have the ability to run a diagnostic and collect data on the machine? A person who owns one of these machines should be able to take it outside and start it up and hit a master diagnostic button and the machine works through a set program that also has the capacity to clear codes and retests without a technician being in the machine. With all the data stored or being sent to Deers center with a tech connected through the internet.

    • @ZKMasterTech
      @ZKMasterTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The machine communicates with jd Link and the customer can go into his jd link app and look through codes and data. The owner has the ability to look and clear most codes. The only codes they can’t clear are ECU “latched” dtc’s which have to do with emissions. The machine does start up checks when you start it up. But the controllers are constantly checking for faults. That’s why when you unplug a sensor a code instantly pops up.
