Saif is aging so well unlike most of his contemporaries and he's a total nawab in and out. Saif is so much bolder with his movie choices. And people always forget that he's a national award winner. Hope Tanhaji turns his luck around.

His career got a reboot after Kal Ho Na Ho in which he plays a similar character to Cocktail - fun and wild but he really impresses in the serious roles as well.
I am from south and this was my first movie I watched without subtitles. I started to understand by that time and man, this is one fun roller coaster ride. And Deepika redeemed herself with this movie to what you see right now. It was not the same for her before cocktail. And the music... mwah!!

It's a really good fun film. This is the film from where Deepika's career skyrocketed, her acting skills as a serious actor were recognised and she gradually became the topmost Indian actress. Everyone in the film was really good. Definitely a must watch.

This is the movie which made deepika's career. Everyone after watching this realised that she was truly something different. If you remember in the 73 Q's with vogue interview when she was asked what was the best decision she made she said the movie she did "cocktail".
Deepika's performance in this movie was brilliant but the movie is regressive at its best. It follows tropes that feel very uncomfortable to watch. Wouldn't recommend watching Cocktail.
@Viki M I don't want to spoil the ending as some haven't watched it, but all three characters are very one dimensional. The script does feed onto stereotypes of the typical womanizer, the hot girl & the timid homely girl.
This is actually Saif Ali Khan at his natural best. Traditionally, he used to play the funny & charismatic guy although 'Omkara' by Vishal Bharadwaj has his best performance.

This movie marked the watershed after which Deepika was taken as serious actor - more than just as pretty girl. Saif in Omkara was excellent. That movie catapulted him to recognition as a serious actor. Maqbool should be watched to appreciate the superb acting of Pankaj Kapoor (Shahid’s father irl) and Tabu. Irrfan was still in his early days then.

As many already commented, this movie changed Deepika's career. She went from "girl next door" roles to more varied, complex roles. It was really suprising to see her in the role of that party girl and she killed it! The movie is quite good, Saif (it's said "Sef") is great too in this kind of roles. He plays the villain in Omkara, what a performance he gave in that movie! He's an amazing actor. He did another, older popular romcom with Deepika called *Love Aaj Kal* by the director of Jab We Met/Rockstar/Highway if you want to react to it :-) Yes you should watch it with Ashley and Alexis!
