This was my first QOTSA show! Thank you for posting. I was 18, and I drove 6 hours in the rain to get there after drinking all night and had to sleep on the side on the interstate soaked from the storm that happened at the end of Jane’s. One of the best days of my life.
Was my first as well. Stayed up all night drinking and pounded coke all the way there. Got drenched waiting to get in and soaked all night. This concert actually got me into them. And the music (that young uk band) peeled my head back too.
can you tell me the song they play before they enter to the stage
@@chepederinify “Spiders and Vinegaroons” I think
Was my first TOUR as well, while not at this show...was another venue back in 2003 when Lollapalooza was a "touring festival"...instead of Always Chicago like they started doing a few years later. Same set list except for 2 songs, so. Same lineup. I was only 15, but, my 7 year older brother pushed qotsa down my throat...and I knew there was a good reason...lol. 30 years later I've been playing guitar/bass ever since...covering queens songs...(vocals & guitar), is just...such a rush. U know u gotta do this song justice...so. obviously you play that shit over & over untill u can play that shit in yer sleep to avoid an embarrassing performance. But this show, was the first of...only up to 10 so far, but I got to see Straight Jacket Fitting this last tour so, I can die happy...lmao
i miss nick. what a beast at vocals
between nick's distortion and marks gravel, this era was just something else man
Took a shot in the dark of finding this. I was here! Josh SO mad at the audience and the utter rocking is all I remember. I was there purely for Audioslave and left a QOTSA fan as well.
Those are the best shows. You go for one thing and leave liking something new.
Tbh, I’ve seen Queens 3 times and he has gotten mad at the crowd each time 😂 Even got one person attacked in Atlanta opening for NIN.
Josh has a mean case of the Elvis legs 🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
qotsa in his prime. I love it!
This was literally my first concert ever. I was 2, about to be 3, and it is one of my earliest memories. I remember Audioslave and Jane’s Addiction from that night as well.
The sky is falling... Only a moment I notice...I paid attention
Cost me so much to hate!!!!
Thanks for posting this awesome old show. It's the closest I can come to confirming that I saw the late/great Mark Lanegan with QotSA when I saw saw them in Kansas City on the same '03 Lollapalooza tour. At the time, I remember the band kicking ass and my own sense of confusion about who the "lead singer" was...
Yeah, I wasn't at this exact show but at a different venue as well...but, seeing qotsa, incubus, Audioslave & Jane's Addiction back/back/back/back, is maybe to this day, still the best 4 band "festival stretch" I've ever seen, after many many more festivals. Qotsa was equal to Audioslave in my opinion as they both put on the best performance, for my taste obviously, then incubus/Jane's Addiction tie for 2nd cuz they both killed it...back when incubus was...a bit closer to their prime, imo, and Jane's a bit after their live performances "peak", but any way you slice it. Was still one of the best shows I've ever seen... was one of my first 30. And now it's gotta be close to a thousand shows over the decades...I stopped counting after like 100 because I realized, eventually I'll lose track because u can't save the stub anymore when they're all digital and ya don't have easy access to a printer...nowadays u basically are forced to use all digital tickets, don't even offer the option to print one out on ur home printer, etc. Man I miss seeing Millionaire with Nick singing it...and Mark singing hanging tree, etc. R.I.P 👑
Nick Oliveri was such a powerhouse. This version of the band was so solid. It's too bad that Nick couldn't leave that rage on the stage. 🙁 This is the best live version of QOTSA.
Present version is the best
And Joey, mark
This is truly a hidden gem. Thank you for posting this!! Were you there, at this concert!!??
5:33 blue shirt guy missed that drum fill really badly.
This is the first time I've seen "The Sky Is Fallin' " live on TH-cam. It sounds so huge live!
I wish they'd play it more it's such a good song.
I swear they played it at rock am ring 2003
It's an oddball, because for the longest time it was their only song in D standard tuning- up until this new album.
I thought I read somewhere it was in e-flat standard, which makes it the only song they've ever done in e-flat. I could be wrong on that though.
You probably read it from me, I've posted about it before- and I do believe it's e-flat on the record, but they play it in D live. I'm guessing there may or may not have been some pitch shifting involved in studio, because it's very peculiar it's the only song in their catalog that way before or since.
the no one knows to feel good hit back to no one knows transition was so sick!
I boot n' rallied during this set, around 1PM.
Best line up!!
Josh changed the lyrics in "Lost Art" & "No One Knows" to "Don't f**k" & "Tastes like s**t". Also, "Feel Good" ends after the second verse.
By far the best queens line up joey and nick blend so well
Troy is a great guitar player and i am a fan of his playing, but i have to say, on stage, he has some of the spazziest moves in rock
he's just dancing lol
Coolest cat in rock n roll. The lap steel proves it.
@@artis1969 qotsa always had that, from the 1998 shows to today. he's just delivering it better than the others before lol
@@startervisions Fair point. I meant more in his unassuming demeanor. Homme's flamboyant and a rock star in his own right. Troy is laid back and versatile as hell, almost like he found his own cool that wasn't formulaic to the stereotype. He and Josh are great together.
@@artis1969 a great classic rock duo. Troy may even be described as more "flamboyant" depending upon who's talking, regardless, they go damn well together. more than the sum.
Saw this show and QOTSA is all I pretty much remember. They were great. And I love Jane's Addiction, but I think, at that point, it was over.
Props to the guy in the back in the light blue shirt. He rocked out the whole time.
Saw these guys in Camden that summer. Fuckin awesome music.
Great fucking performance ! I agree with most people here, the best OTSA line up. Peace out to y'all.
Was there and so glad you have this posted in the wake of Mark's departure....RIP big homie!
I was there. About 4-5 rows back in front of Nick.
Going through old ticket stubs and found this one, i wuz here! Thanks for posting!!!
Pine Knob??
Awesome Gem, a few people knew Go with the flow at that time, WoW
50:00 best part
Whoa Nick's vocals more than just barely audible? What a novel idea, sound mixing people - thanks for once. Am I imagining shit or did Josh give up on the crowd with at that beach ball moment & decide to just dance with Troy in his tight pants for the rest of the show?
I agree, very bizarre
I saw them in Albuquerque on Lalapalooza in 2003 as well, cant find anything posted from that show. Funny enough I live about 15 miles away from Lakewood now though, and have been to a few shows there in the past few years, they dont get shows there like they used to, all the bands go to the newer venues in north Atlanta now.
Got to see St. Louis & Indianapolis! ❤ love this.
This song is called beach party bingo😂
Thanks Casey Williamson
Gonna leave you ❤
I love all this!
Legendary
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Saw the Milwaukee stop, lotta booze, lotta weed, saved the L, for Jane's Addiction. If you were there, sorry for ruining the Incubus set.
RIP Mark Lanegan
HARD ****ing COR!!?? thankq U?xx
💕
Josh is going scuba diving right after the show.
31:20 Highlight
Fuck yeah
I was right up front! They took the show for sure but J5 was great.
joey castiyo wears ash ketchup hat
I am an idiot and didn't realize that Nick Olivieri sang so much and ...I.... learned something.... and this is such a great set because it begins the Joey Castillo days. He sounds like John Bohnam swallowed Neil Peart then did some speed and steroids.... and then played drums
Troy 10:50
Plateia muito parada
Estão sentados, Usa style
original line up... Pff their sound in live is orgasmic
what do you mean by original
@@jeronimoferrando9963 I'm saying. Nick joined for #2 and Troy and Joey didn't join until after SftD
One person in crowd having fun. Rest are lame.
Probably the worst crowd at a QOTSA show ever
Boo fucking hoo, the crowd police is here.
its not a qotsa show mate it's a festival, fair play if it's not their audience lol
