Its amazing how a song will take you back. I remember when GooGoo dolls came to Nashville in 1998, at Starwood Amphitheatre, I can remember hearing a local radio station broadcasting live and they were playing this and I thought how pissed I was at myself for not being able to go.

Ihh... It's a good cover, but the sound quality is kinda pour with the clunking of the stings when he strums the chords and the scraping of the guitar strings. As a fellow musician, it's just unattractive to hear those sounds from the guitar. Sounds like he's playing with a coin. Sticks out like a sore thumb.
Definitely not the same emotions as a John's voice, but still a great sounding cover.

I miss that Boyce Avenue... the way they started... nice rock songs, mostly calm and so pleasant to listen to. Don't get me wrong, I still absolutely love every piece of work they do, I just miss the times before they started taking on todays pop music. It's true that they take a just-another-pop-song and revise it completely to make it a thousand times better, but still, I miss what Boyca Avenue grew up on. Like this bit.

Roy Tegoeh That's because the original existed long before TH-cam. The song was old news (for most) by the time it got posted. This cover however was not. It's novelty made it a more interesting click than the original.

When u write and sing a song about ur parents that left u to adoption and never wanted contact with u the original artist will always be better. A cover rarely beats a song with a purpose. You can't reach the raw emotion of that but never the less such an amazing cover.

This beautiful version of this song brings out a strong emotion in me that the Goo Goo's version never even did to me knowing that song as a young kid since it was first released. I'm not a female but I think I'm in love with this guy.
First, the haters will always keep hating, especially with the anonymity of the internet. BA are wonderfully talented, passionate and dynamic musicians and they choose covers that represent music that they enjoy. I think saying that they blow everyone away is inncorrect. I would say they knock every cover out of the park.
