Before Angelina I didn't know this song at all, now it's one of my favorite songs. I melt away every time I listen to this, no idea if she knows how good she really is...
I put this on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 74 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story.
I believe that Angelina had Sarah Vaughan's version as a template. Sarah definitely overdid it with the vibratos. For this reason, I think Angelina is much better. One of the worst versions I have ever heard is the Bublé version Michael Bublé - My Funny Valentine Official Audio] The composition doesn't fit the song at all and it sounds like he's on his way to execution.
Absent from this stunning emotional vocal performance, I love her decent way to dance this song in the video. First I thought, she might be sad, but it just was a way of dancing, an own performance. Great art.

This has been my favorite song most of my life & I've heard many greats sing it (male & female), but this is my favorite version. Like you, this is my new Angelina favorite, as well. I, like everyone else, want to see an album of new songs, but I would not hesitate to scoop up a vinyl album of nothing but a bunch of old classics that Angelina has reinvented and made her own. I guess what I'm saying is, I just love everything this young lady sings, even songs that I was never a fan of before.

She is , and has for some time now, the reigning Queen Of Jazz. just amazed how she goes from one end of the jazz spectrum to bring Billie Holiday's 'breathy, sensual' nuance to this classic, then totally reverses direction to bring the raw inflections like 'slurring' words for effect and changing 'key' radically in mid-sentence to emulate what Amy Winehouse was known for. We then add in this girl's superior ability to go from low, to medium, to high registers effortlessly and as we are enjoying these mesmerizing vocals we also have the beauty of this 'Persian Princess' to intoxicate us further.

That guy is my soul mate. Dakine nuances, every note manipulated,… every jazz voice there has ever been. I though I was alone in my feeling that this just might be the best recording I have ever heard of this song, of any song actually.
At least it sounds that good. But if she found a good backing track that can be deceitful. She has shown before she loves to slide in and out of the instrument notes, melting her voice with them if she has an orchestra backing.

Great reaction as always from two of my favorites and in the spirit of "I've Got Something to Say" , I do. If Republic pulled together 40 or fifty of what their mucical wizards thought were the best jazz/blues songs of history and let Angelina play with them in her inimitable style, they could turn out at platinum album this year. Then later this year do the same thing for greatest hits from musicals, then in the winter do studio perfect versions of Angelina's existing covers with videos and then do the same when time allows for the top 80 or 100 songs from the hits from the 50',60's,70's and 80's (I am talking 4 different albums). Now send out a open contract for new songs to the entire song writing world and the songs selected will be song by Angelina on an upcoming production. So I am thinking there are 8 platinum albums before Angelina has to create her own songs. Angelina has already established her ability to write great songs but there must be a thousand songs like this one that only need Angelina's voice and touches to make them great songs or great again. In the coming years we will get to hear her own creations as they are ready, with no pressure until they are ready. Personally I would buy at least two of each album , Cd or download. Let this young genius loose on the musical world.

I second that. I listen to other songs now and then, but it has become like a part of life for me to listen to this young lady sing a half a dozen or so times a day, and some days it's the same song again and again, just because of how it makes me feel.

Realize that most viewers do not understand how to really give young artists the credit they deserve. Reactors can educate the viewers by suggesting they like comment and subscribe to the artist links provided, exactly the way you do for your own channel. Most don't know what support means specifically. Another suggestion is that since you already use text banners on your screen requesting subscription, you may choose as other channels have done to create a text box suggesting liking, commenting, and subscribing to the artist channels. That guy is my soul mate. Dakine nuances, every note manipulated,… every jazz voice there has ever been. I though I was alone in my feeling that this just might be the best recording I have ever heard of this song, of any song actually.
She sings music, not songs, no one compares.
Angelina is worthy of a live band, so imo they could be live in the studio. But then, recording in bits and pieces is far more pro.
At least it sounds that good. But if she found a good backing track that can be deceitful. She has shown before she loves to slide in and out of the instrument notes, melting her voice with them if she has an orchestra backing.

On a side note, Deborah, I don't know if you know about the podcast called Wrapped in a Warm Blanket by TH-cam reactors Alan Papier and Pontus Osterlin, who have dedicated their program about Angelina Jordan and how she makes people feel and affect their life. Great reaction as always from two of my favorites and in the spirit of "I've Got Something to Say" , I do. If Republic pulled together 40 or fifty of what their mucical wizards thought were the best jazz/blues songs of history and let Angelina play with them in her inimitable style, they could turn out at platinum album this year. Then later this year do the same thing for greatest hits from musicals, then in the winter do studio perfect versions of Angelina's existing covers with videos and then do the same when time allows for the top 80 or 100 songs from the hits from the 50',60's,70's and 80's (I am talking 4 different albums). Now send out a open contract for new songs to the entire song writing world and the songs selected will be song by Angelina on an upcoming production. So I am thinking there are 8 platinum albums before Angelina has to create her own songs. Angelina has already established her ability to write great songs but there must be a thousand songs like this one that only need Angelina's voice and touches to make them great songs or great again. In the coming years we will get to hear her own creations as they are ready, with no pressure until they are ready. Personally I would buy at least two of each album , Cd or download. Let this young genius loose on the musical world.
