Like bishop Jones was pointing out, when using scripture, we must Make sure we stay in the context the scripture was being presented.. because then it looks like it's just being used to manipulate and that's not what Gods word is intended to do.
Bishop Noel Jones is one of the greatest preachers of our time. It is sad to see his ministry marred with his position on marriage and divorce. I agree with Pastor Ron "marry or land the plane, because it doesn't look well". If he doesn't want to get married (that's ok), close the store take down the "open for business" sign. Bishop Jones is wrong if he is dating with no intent on getting married, because that is the purpose of dating. If they are not having sex, they are playing with fire. Prov. 6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? If he is in a sexual relationship it is wrong, because they are not married. 1Cor. 7:9 "But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for IT IS BETTER TO MARRY THAN TO BURN". He says he is afraid of getting married. That is a trick of the devil, a stronghold the enemy has set in his life to keep him out of balance. He excels in ministry, but his personal life is lacking and it shows! His church knows it, family and friends know it, and worse, the milions of people who watched Preachers Of LA know it! Personally I think he is still in love with his first wife, or he never healed from the break-up. Don't be deceived, your life is on display! It is not true that he cannot remarry if he was properly divorced from his first wife. He can remarry. He doesn't want to. The scripture he is referencing is being taken out of context. "Putting away" is not divorce. "Saving for the cause of fornication means that if the husband found any uncleaness in her he could just walk her to the door otherwise he had to properly divorce her which those men were not doing. It was cruel to the woman to put her out without proper divorce papers. The scripture in question meant that those men were putting away their wives and not giving them a proper bill of divorcement without which the woman could not retrieve her dowry and had no other financial support and she could also not remarry legally because she was still legally married to the one who "put her out (away)" without legally divorcing her. That's why Moses said give her a (proper) bill of divorcement (so she can at least afford to live and remarry someone who truly loves her.)

Marriage, divorce and remarriage is a serious event. And most of the world thinks it's all right to marry and divorce and remarry as many times as they want to do so. But Jesus has said something about it several times in the Gospels. And those who follow that life style commit adultery. And Rev. 21: 8 says that adulterers will end up in the lake of fire. I understand Bishop Jones' position on that issue. I have been divorced for many years and I refuse to remarry for the same reason. Hell is too hot and long for my soul to be there. I have not had sex with anyone since 1992. Fornication and adultery will put you in the lake of fire forever. God knows that I am telling the truth. HE is a keeper if you want to be kept. I've had a lot of thoughts but I refuse to act on them. To GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Bishop Jones was speaking drom Matthew 19:9. Read vv. 3-12. How does anyone know he's having a sexual relationship with Loretta? Did he or she tell you? I do see that she loves him and would like it to go further into marriage but he has stated he doesn't want to be married so she needs to release herself so she can have a chance at getting married instead of hanging around trying to change someone's mind otherwise or convince them that you are the one. Both scriptures are correct because God equates the seriousness of marriage to His relationship with the church. Whether he told anyone or not, anybody with half of a brain cell knows that first if you as a member, Pastor, Deacon, or Bishop have the nerve to divorce without thinking of the Word, you have equally as much nerve to to fulfill the lust of the flesh. Get your head out of the sand. These are the types of excuses that are continuously tearing down the church to the point that there is hardly any difference between God's people and the world. But, God is going to judge and you'll see that the excuses will mean nothing.
This is something I didn't know about Bishop Jones. Perhaps I, myself did not want to know. Pastors are not above their mistakes. I absolutely do not agree with dating a woman if you do NOT have any intentions on marrying the woman. This is the true Word of God concerning what both Bishop Jones and Bishop and Bishop Gibson were referring to. Remember, let the Word of God be true and every man a liar. Every man cannot receive what our Lord Jesus Christ told us. A man of God cannot teach what he doesn't live. Paul was not married nor did he have a relationship with a woman for years. I hear what Bishop Jones is saying, but bible also says marriage is honorable in ALL and the bed undefiled. I believe God will bless a new marriage. The Lord also said in Matthew 19:11 that all men can't receive this saying. I think it's a case by case basis. Paul said a woman shouldn't even speak in the church, but I know woman are annointed of God to preach his word anywhere because they have received the ministry of reconciliation just as man has.

Pastor Jones, I understand that you may be fearful because I was terrible fearful when I was in my twenties. I don’t normally comment but I felt this was very inconsiderate of how people we’re flaunting their marriages in front of someone whose been threw pain. What’s the point of being married yet have no influence on the world. He didn’t have to share the reasons why but I know his journey ministers to millions in the world who have gone threw the same pain. Secondly, why are people so judgemental even towards our brothers and sisters in Christ where is the love of God we are to show one another. I am not surprised why my unbeliever friends don’t want to come to Christ because of this judgemental (Pharisee) attitudes that go on I’m in my 20’s from London and this just happened to come across my feed, I have been threw heart break and was hoping this would have been another exceptional lesson I would learn. I didn’t expect to see him treated like this and it saddens me of how we treat our own. The only person I even know in the room is Bishop Noel Jones. His influence has positively impacted us who live London and I’m sure millions of others around the world. The Holy Spirit always recommends Bishops Noel’s sermons to me whenever I go through pain so I think we should be careful how we treat our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The word of God is right whether we believe it or not. It all depends meaning if he caught his wife cheating that's grounds for divorce. If his wife divorced him then that's ok according to the Bible. So remarrying after this is ok. According to the Bible. Now I know people are doing them. Just because they are doing them don't make it right. But God is a forgiving God. All you have to do is repent ( truefully) . But you will suffer the consequences.

I think it's laughable how everybody's got an opinion about how to walk in another man's shoes. Pastor Gibson was very lucky to marry his high school sweetheart and that's a great relationship. Everybody is not that fortunate. Anyone who has been in a bad marriage has no intention of repeating that mistake ever again in life. And if that means you have to stay single then everybody ought to be happy for you that you found happiness in that.
I know thr ministry of Rev. Jones for many years. He has an awesome gift but his character as a man of God does not measure up to the expectations laid out in scripture. His arguments essentially defending his loose lifestyle are not Biblical they are based on humanistically inspired reasoning. He knows better than this. When we don't find any clear passage/scripture for any particular situation, (there basic and black and white rules) but there different millions situations, where we have go according to our Comforter the Holy Spirit....Romans 8:14 He is so much real. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible. [36] But if a man thinks that he's treating his fiancée improperly and will inevitably give in to his passion, let him marry her as he wishes. It is not a sin. Ron Gibson needs to revisit the contextual meaning of the scriptures that he quoted. When he quoted the scriptures in Romans, it was talking about foods and dietary restrictions.

Gibson should be encouraging Noel Jones to reconcile with his first wife. Jones behavior is encouraging the same type of behavior from his members. What would be the point of divorce if remarriage was not possible? That said, Bishop Jones really has an issue with marriage, and to understand that you have to find out WHY he is "scared to death" of it. Obviously, it must have something to do with what he has learned about women--particularly their motivation for marriage--and himself. Men are getting smarter. Women are attracted to men with power and means, regardless of who they are. Having no direct authority, women often seek to control the men who have it. The woman's need for security is often her motivation for marriage. She is often in it to get, not to give, which is why many women end up divorced or single.

It is not true that he cannot remarry if he was properly divorced from his first wife. He can remarry. He doesn't want to. The scripture he is referencing is being taken out of context. "Putting away" is not divorce. "Saving for the cause of fornication means that if the husband found any uncleaness in her he could just walk her to the door otherwise he had to properly divorce her which those men were not doing. It was cruel to the woman to put her out without proper divorce papers. The scripture in question meant that those men were putting away their wives and not giving them a proper bill of divorcement without which the woman could not retrieve her dowry and had no other financial support and she could also not remarry legally because she was still legally married to the one who "put her out (away)" without legally divorcing her. That's why Moses said give her a (proper) bill of divorcement (so she can at least afford to live and remarry someone who truly loves her.)

Marriage, divorce and remarriage is a serious event. And most of the world thinks it's all right to marry and divorce and remarry as many times as they want to do so. But Jesus has said something about it several times in the Gospels. And those who follow that life style commit adultery. And Rev. 21: 8 says that adulterers will end up in the lake of fire. I understand Bishop Jones' position on that issue. I have been divorced for many years and I refuse to remarry for the same reason. Hell is too hot and long for my soul to be there. I have not had sex with anyone since 1992. Fornication and adultery will put you in the lake of fire forever. God knows that I am telling the truth. HE is a keeper if you want to be kept. Bishop Jones was speaking drom Matthew 19:9. Read vv. 3-12. How does anyone know he's having a sexual relationship with Loretta? Did he or she tell you? I do see that she loves him and would like it to go further into marriage but he has stated he doesn't want to be married so she needs to release herself so she can have a chance at getting married instead of hanging around trying to change someone's mind otherwise or convince them that you are the one. Both scriptures are correct because God equates the seriousness of marriage to His relationship with the church. I don’t normally comment but I felt this was very inconsiderate of how people we’re flaunting their marriages in front of someone whose been threw pain. What’s the point of being married yet have no influence on the world. He didn’t have to share the reasons why but I know his journey ministers to millions in the world who have gone threw the same pain. Secondly, why are people so judgemental even towards our brothers and sisters in Christ where is the love of God we are to show one another. I am not surprised why my unbeliever friends don’t want to come to Christ because of this judgemental (Pharisee) attitudes that go on I’m in my 20’s from London and this just happened to come across my feed, I have been threw heart break and was hoping this would have been another exceptional lesson I would learn. I didn’t expect to see him treated like this and it saddens me of how we treat our own. The only person I even know in the room is Bishop Noel Jones. His influence has positively impacted us who live London and I’m sure millions of others around the world. The Holy Spirit always recommends Bishops Noel’s sermons to me whenever I go through pain so I think we should be careful how we treat our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I wouldn’t want a ‘Aaron & Miriam consequence to happen to anyone🕊🔥

The word of God is right whether we believe it or not. It all depends meaning if he caught his wife cheating that's grounds for divorce. If his wife divorced him then that's ok according to the Bible. So remarrying after this is ok. According to the Bible. Now I know people are doing them. Just because they are doing them don't make it right. But God is a forgiving God. All you have to do is repent ( truefully) . But you will suffer the consequences.

I think it's laughable how everybody's got an opinion about how to walk in another man's shoes. Pastor Gibson was very lucky to marry his high school sweetheart and that's a great relationship. Everybody is not that fortunate. Anyone who has been in a bad marriage has no intention of repeating that mistake ever again in life. And if that means you have to stay single then everybody ought to be happy for you that you found happiness in that.

He might be right about how it looks, but they both know what God's Word says about divorce and remarriage when you were both were in church when you married. No way is there dating someone for 16 years and not fornicating. However, Jones is scared because of the Word and consequences. Gibson should be encouraging Noel Jones to reconcile with his first wife. Jones behavior is encouraging the same type of behavior from his members. The Body of Christ is suffering because of these pastors flrocking around like sinners.

That said, Bishop Jones really has an issue with marriage, and to understand that you have to find out WHY he is "scared to death" of it. Obviously, it must have something to do with what he has learned about women--particularly their motivation for marriage--and himself. Men are getting smarter. Women are attracted to men with power and means, regardless of who they are. Having no direct authority, women often seek to control the men who have it. The woman's need for security is often her motivation for marriage. She is often in it to get, not to give, which is why many women end up divorced or single.
