Janey .. have you ever thought of having a “Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat” sign done for over the door of your office ? You need one somewhere ☺️🪴 it would look really nice !!
Yes or even one hanging on a little post near the door area
Ditto!
I was just thinking the same thing!
Oooh yes!
Janey, the kiss me Kate is a climber so how about painting that wooden tuteur you made the same charcoal as your fence and plant it out along the driveway for a pop of color among the greenery border? That would be a pretty texture too…
Sounds good!
A logo sign would look so good over your door!!
The bee and hummingbird and the dog chasing his tail. 🐝🪽🐾😄
Willow loves water. It may dry out in a small pot. Also willow has healing properties . If you cut 2 inch long branches, about 12 soak them in a bucket of water for a month , you can use that water on pots and plants that need a little help, cuttings can be dipped into the water. There are so many uses for curly willow/ willow. I grow curly willow into trees , they almost look like olive trees
Everything looks beautiful! I'm so jealous. Here in Maine we thought an early spring had arrived, but sadly we are expecting 18 inches of snow in Southern❤ Maine, Zone 5B this week😢😢 I was going to buy some pansies and tulips for some of my containers this past weekend but decided I should wait 😂 Monty is getting so big!
Wow! I didn't realize how much Monnty has grown. What a sweet puppy.
Huge accomplishments for 1 day!
You've probably answer this 100 times, but please provide a link for your wonderful sun hat! I love your videos! I watch you almost every day from Central Texas.
Yes! They (topiaries) look great!!! So glad they’re done!
Almost to 65K Subscribers! Hit that button folks! Janey is a true gem of the garden world!
Lovely Monty❤. He closely resembles our beautiful sweet and protective BoBo who was a rescue; that beautiful red wavey fur. He would steal my garden hose to play in the water turning in circles to spray me. Reminding me to take a break and enjoy my garden. I was heartbroken when he passed. Monty brings back the memories and 12 years of joy. Thank you and Monty too for sharing.😂 ChaCha229
Living vicariously through you...I am in Southern Alberta, Canada and still have snow. BUT warmer days are coming! I sell bedding plants that I myself grow from seed/ bulbs..have hundreds in garage under grow lights and have fans running. Of course, never enough room..haha. LOVE your greenhouse
Your dog coming to check what you’re doing was so sweet!!!!!
This is some of my favorite kind of garden chores. Looks so pretty. Everything takes me forever though as I’m getting older.
The Bee's and Humming birds fight every day in my yard for feeders and flowers.😃
Looking lovely Janey ❤
I love waking up with the sun, heading out to the garden with coffee in hand, a warm breeze, and birds' song as my entertainment. There is nothing better and I always feel like I can do so much more. Your potted design looks amazing already! Well done.
Monty is getting so big! Love seeing him pop in your videos 🐶
What a treat…a Saturday morning video ☕️!! The splash of color at your entrance makes for a joyful welcome for a day of office work!
Loved that you showed how much you rough up roots before planting. I always get a bit nervous about that part🤪
It looks so pretty having thatcollection of plants. I like the tarp idea. Always good to see cute Monty. He is growing so fast.
It's breaking my heart watching you throw out the tulip bulbs especially what you would have paid for them. I am in Melbourne Australia where we get several years out of a bulb. Look forward to your vids every day. Thanks for introducing me to Robbie too.
She saves a lot because so many annuals here are perennial there.
Oops, I meant "how much" you would have paid for them. Early bird here too 😃
I live in her area and we are way too hot for tulips to come back up year after year. They are definitely annuals here :(
I understand how you feel, I feel the same way. I love tulips but I've come to realize that as beautiful as they are they will not come back reliably. I bought 1000 tulip bulbs two years ago. In total, about less than 10 came up. I have leaves but no bulbs. I was hopeful more would bloom but that was not the case. I have a mix variety that has bloomed for 12 years; it hasn't performed as best as it could because I don't fertilize but they keep coming back. I got them at Sam's club and could never find them again.
As much as we'd all love to, we can't keep the tulips because they just don't bloom reliably after the first year. In my opinion it's too much work to dig the bulbs up and store them in order for them to be chilled. I know this is a long response, but I just wanted you to get a sense of what we go through.
I don't think tulips would bloom again in California. They need a chilling period.
Everything looks so beautiful. Now all you need is a "Plaid & Poppies" type of awning over your office door!
I love the look of Mondo grass, but it can be pretty invasive and difficult to remove. I took it out of the ground, and just have one pot of it. I make sure to get rid of the seeds before they drop.
I was wondering if you were still keeping up your master gardener hours! I am a member of the DAR and we often have a master gardener come talk to our chapter. They have all been wonderful and very knowledgeable.
Your Willow needs a huge pot and lots of water. Plant one in the soil . They make a beautiful tree. Wonderful for arrangements. ❤
Every yr I go cut some in Sac,on garden hwy.the lilac trees are wild and lush! Hope you have success with yours id love to have some on my property.
Yes to the bee and hummingbird fighting! It happens all the time!
Have you thought about creating (as Linda Vater would say) a "throw rug" in front of your office using the paver/gravel design you have used out in front of your house and in the greenhouse? That might look cool. Just an idea and sorry if it's a suggestion someone has already made!😉 Beautiful grouping of pots. Thanks for sharing them!
So gorgeous Janey🌳❣️🪻 I’m excited to see how the curly willow does! It’s a new plant for me.
You just need a dig, plant, repeat sign at the top❤️ I think that would be so clutch❤️
Wow, Monty has really grown! I have a couple of Japanese maple seedlings if you you like one. Just let me know 😊
Monty is getting so big. Such a beautiful boy.
Monty is getting so big😍
Looks nice! Monty has grown so much! He’s such a beautiful dog. ❤M
Best morning waking up to Janey’s video and having coffee, morning everyone and Happy Easter weekend 😊❤️🐇🌷
Same !!! I’m the early girl also !! If I can see outside ……I’m in the garden 🌻💚
Morning Janey ! Enjoyed the video. I used to be a floral designer and we had a curly willow tree behind the shop. We cut on that poor tree all the time ! It makes arrangements look so elegant ! I know you will enjoy having them in your garden 🌻 From Georgia with love ❤️
Janey, loved the pots you put together today! Would you consider putting a potting bench over your hose bib on the side of your office? Watching you on the tarp near the hose bib, it just came to me:) I love my potting bench and it has a shelf hutch on it for small pots and tools. I think one would look so pretty up against your office. Keep up the great work. LOVE watching you each morning!
Great idea!
Happy Easter Janey, Family and Friends 🐇🐇🥕💐
I love how the plants look in front of your office. You have been a busy girl.
So happy to have a Saturday video ❤
What a gorgeous group of flowers and shrubs! The front of your office looks totally amazing.
We just had our Master Gardener program at Rotary two weeks ago! Glad you did that. Ours was very well received.
My Meyer lemon tree is just a little bigger than yours and I have twenty lemons on it! I am so excited 🎉
Your office entrance looks fresh and beautiful. I also am a morning person so anxious to tackle chores especially working outside, but, as you said, the discipline does begin the night before!!
So happy to wake up to Janey's gardening on a Saturday morning. 💖
Loved your videos before - but now that your lovely puppy makes the occasional appearance it is even better. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy your garden while ours is under the snow.
Oh my Monty has gotten so big!
The grasses look great! Excellent choice for this pot. :)
I live in a very wooded area with open space around me, I’ve found the heavier the mulch the less weeds you will have. Weeding is my least favorite things to do. It’s nice you have access to free mulch.🌻🧡
Awesome Janey!!! I have been a Rotary member for 26 years. Thank you for sharing❤
Good morning Janey, what a pleasant surprise to wake up and see you had a new video up. You had a vision with your house and it is coming true so fast! I love your office. I am a topiary lover I think they are the icing on the cake. Have a great day you are such an inspiration.
Happy easter weekend! Yay! I love container time, they are looking great.
My dahlias are popping up in the Smokies and we still have nights in the 30s.
That looks stunning Janey! Well done! 🥰
You’re lucky, I can never do anything without planning the details of every detail, my OCD would kill me 😂
Oh and I think Robbie would love some of that black grass 😊 I just know 😉💕
Love your pots! Question: Does your greenhouse have a shade cloth accessory? In your hot summer climate, it might help protect your plants.
Acre Homestead just posted a video on homemade natural recipe for weed killer spray. It's super simple and really seemed to do a great job for her. Just need the spray, a sprayer, and a couple days of warm sunshine, which you seem to have plenty of. Give it a try.....especially when you need to kill the weeds in the large mulched areas.
Hi, have you put in rain water harvesting? I am aware that storing rain water may be illegal in some places in USA but you can always put it in the ground to keep the water table replenished. It's really important not to let the rain water just flow into drains
Pot's look fabulous and I see that Monte is on the Job , YOU plant he digs you water he repeats 😮😢
Hey Janey, I just wanted you to know that I loved when you took us to your friends house and you did her front yard. For me it is so helpful because those types of landscapes look the most like my house. Anymore of those in the future where you travel around and help friends landscape would be so appreciated.
Janey do you ever plant Cosmos? So tall and colorful. Big impact. Swaying in the breeze. Sooooo easy 😍
Your pots look amazing! Happy Easter to you and your family!
I’m looking forward to my first blush of roses next month. Meanwhile I’ve been planting agaves throughout the yard. Love your flowers and new projects. I can’t wait to see another episode about your Shade Garden.
Morning, I'm just waiting for the nursery to open today so I can find a container for my Pinkie Winkie standard. Also have to replace a clay pot that broke this winter - never had that happen before, I'm in KY for pete's sake. Oh well there's a first time for everything.
Your plants and flowers look so beautiful in front of your office. Also I love the plant/tree that Robbie gave you. Great video Janie love you❤
Afternoon Everyone 🪴🌷🐣🌷🪴
Hello Janey. I enjoy watching you develop your new space. I want to know where you got your hat. I like that wide brim. Thanks
Hi Janey - just an idea - why not get a nice, new (terracotta?) pot and repot the Kiss Me Kate rose in that for now while you're thinking about where you might put in more permanently? I think it deserves a better temporary living situation and it will certainly thank you in the meantime...
Janey. Do you pull weeds by hand or do you have certain tools for the job. I would love to see a video on tools for weeding if you use them. Love your videos
Hi @Janey, thanks for another great video! I especially enjoy the view of your office door garden. The paint colors, plants and containers all make a lovely picture. You mentioned the heat in your greenhouse… do you have plans to install any shade cloth over it during the summer? Maybe you’ve mentioned this already…? Thanks for all the gardening inspiration!
Everything is looking good
Love the pink too !🩷my fav color!
Hi Janey and🐕 Love your containers they look awesome.
Have a wonderful Easter ✝️ 🐇 🐣 🙂 👋
Jayne on a Saturday ? oh boy!
🥰💗
Janey now that your finished repotting the pots out the front if your office, why don’t you put a Dig Water Repeat oval sign above your office door? ☺️🙏🏼🍷🇦🇺🐰 happy Easter 🙏🏼🐰
Love another video !!!
Hi Janey 🌺. Well done these plants are so beautiful in containers . Today also planted in containers hydrangea and 3 columbine blue , purple and red also supertunias container and dahlias and matthiola incana and blue lobelia erinus and Jasmine mogra it smells amazing . Happy Easter to you and your family .❤️✝️❤️
I have a question, do you have a link for your sun hat? I just had some precancerous spots removed from my nose....thank you !
Happy Easter. Your office pots look lovely!
Whoo Hoo... A Saturday video.🪴
Janey, what brand and style is your gardening hat! I just LOVE it, and I'm in the market for one right now!!
❤the containers in front of your office. Thanks
I'm wondering about that bay tree. The pot seems small for a tree and the underplantings will maybe compete for water and nutrients. I am interested in growing a bay tree but I think I would put it in the ground. The grouping around your office door is beautiful. A little container garden in that space is so welcoming. I'm also curious about your plans for the lemon meyer trees. How long will you keep them in those small pots?
Hi Janey, I found the reblooming lilac 3 years ago and purcit. I didn't realize it was zone 7. it blooms very nicely in the spring but the blooms are very small and it really does not rebloom well for me...zone 9b CA. Maybe I am not cutting it back enough?? I still enjoy the soft bushy look. It is about 2-1/2 ft tall and wide. My other lilac is about 12 ft tall 4 ft wide. I can't remember the variety. It gives huge 10 inch fragrant blooms every spring. My friend also has 3 lilacs in her yard. They do grow well here.
Everything is looking beautiful ❤
Everything looks lovely. Happy Easter😊
Can you store your tulip bulbs to use for the next year after their time comes to an end?
What is your experience with the blue California lilac? native to Southern California mountains
Hi Janey, where did you get your spiral topiary ? I want one.
HI Janey - just wondering why you don't plant the tulips out in your garden bed. I'm from New Zealand and they come up each year for me - not sure about California though. Could save you a few dollars?
Good morning!
Looks beautiful 🌸
Janey, what garden center did you get those lovelies from???
Is this a reupload or aim I predicting the future lolI recall you showing the little ragu bc I took it asa sign to go back to my garden center to pick up one I saw🥰
She showed them but didn’t get to it that day and said there would be a part 2.
I feel really bad about asking this. I bought a bunch of tulips this last fall and never got them in the ground. Are they trash now or what do I do with them? Is there any saving them?
If your nights are still too chillie ,remember you can put them in your green house at night until it gets a little warmer at night
Is that a new version of mondo grass? The mondo grass that I planted got over six feet tall and choked all the other flowers. If I ever use it again I would plant it in the ground not in a pot.
I have that same grass here in France. Botanical name is Ophiopogon. Mine gets only about 8" high, and will spread. I keep mine in a pot. My daughter had some in Atlanta planted along their driveway and it was hard to pull out by hand. I love to pair it with Annuals that are deep purple, and almost any other color!!😊
Up early, be the first at the nursery.. lol
Happy Easter
