You are an awesome addition to the team, Charles. You have really come into your own over the months and add a bit of refinement to the team. I love that you really branch out where, I think, others wouldn't with food. I appreciate your reviews and the great descriptions you share. Keep up the great work!
As soon as I saw Charles, I knew it was going to be a great review. He always is very thoughtful and fair when he's tasting the food......totally makes me smile.
For some reason, we really trust Charles opinion when doing a food review. I think partially because he does not seem to be a picky eater. I feel like people who are picky eaters should not being doing a food/restaurant review. So thank you Charles!
Great job Charles! Your talents as a writer, and wordsmith, really enhances these reviews. And it’s clear that you’re giving your honest opinion. Keep leading these!
Charles you did a fantastic job with your presentation! I appreciate your honesty & transparency- you came across more relatable. ( but thennn #crotchjuice 😂😂😂) Can't wait to try Jaleo on our vacation!
Charles is always willing to try new foods. Pete is very good when it comes to reviewing the service of a restaurant. He is a little bit of a picky eater though. Steve is not an adventurous eater at all. Sean likes american food. Fast food chinese, tex mex, and bbq.
@@BeardFreak Corey seems too much like a "bro" like he doesn't care if he is missing out on delicious food. If he doesn't think he will like it, he won't eat it. He also seems to be firmly in his own opinions.
Loved this review. You both gave such great details, at least for me, of what to possibly expect when dining here. I think Pete should have both of you do most of the future dining reviews as I really enjoyed this show.
Charles. You made a good point about pronouncing. I'm one who it bothers some. My take, the average diner is the average diner. But you and many others (this is the entire Disney vlogging community it seems) make these declarations they're going to butcher and that's just the way it is. This is the wrong attitude. You (the masses) should be willing to learn and try. I truly appreciated you saying you wanted to try. The reason I see it differently is because you're (masses) presenting as the local experts who make money off of these videos. Therefore, you're professionals. And should treat the subject with professional respect. Again, very happy with your point about the 13:45 mark. Well done
Great job guys. Your descriptions were spot on. I would love to have seen some footage of the interior and exterior of the restaurant. The weather isn't alway conducive to dining alfresco. I sure hope the servers have a summer uniform. Those long sleeve shirts and pants are going to be a killer in July.

Not much to do with the video, but the automatic door opening and closing behind Corey (ETA: with no-one going in or out) would drive me nuts in a New York minute. I'd have to change tables.
Lol good review. Can’t wait to go by and check it out this week.. Great job Charles on trying to pronounce things. I’m always happy that people TRY, you don’t look stupid if your really trying.
For the first time watching you guys do a review (and I watched all the DIS VIDEOS) that I would love to climb into the sheen push you both out of the way and wolf down all those items myself.
Great review. You guys make me smile with the pronunciation, is very nice to hear you trying. Charles wins the pronunciation today. Croquetas is something really ordinary, so they are not cheap for croquetas de pollo. After this review I’m really hungry.
The shrimp dish, with the chocolate dessert (+ drinks) seems a reasonable meal. With the understanding it wouldn't be super filling, but a nice top-up at the end of the day.
Wonderful review! And thank you Charles for acknowledging the issue many have with mispronouncing of names. At least give it a try :) Spanish (like Japanese) is actually one of the easier languages to read as you pronounce each letter in the word, for the most part. Very excited for my upcoming trip to Disney!
Great review, it was mouthwatering. Is all the food we´ve seen available with the Dining Plan? I´m wondering, if the handcarved ham (35 $ for an appetizer - wow) is included?
Iberian ham is so delicious - very cool to have them carve at the table. :D The people that do the carving are also specially trained cuz that whole leg costs a fortune. If I recall correctly, it's somewhere in the realm of $1,000. Croquettes are made with a bechemel base, and you usually grind up the meat before adding it, though some will leave little chunks. Essentially it should always be creamy inside. In Spain they add cheese, while Cuban croquettes don't.. Personally I prefer ham, but you can make them with anything, including veggie. Chicken can be a bit bland, but fortunately they season things very nicely at Jaleo. :) If you want to try a ham croquette, Bongos should have them, though it's been many years since I've been there, so I don't know how good they are anymore. Incidentally - I'd like to see you guys do a review of Bongo's. :) The rice dish is essentially an Arroz con Pollo though usually in that dish the rice is yellow from either saffron or bijol (which is largely annatto seed). I like the mushroom addition - looks very tasty. Props for putting yourselves out there and trying on the pronunciation. It's not easy when you don't have familiarity with a language. Thanks also for the great review - you gave a very nice variety of things here and were very thorough. I enjoyed it! :)
Is there any word on if there will be any Disney Dining Plan restrictions for Jaleo? I am going to be at Disney in August, and assuming it doesn't blow away with hurricane season, this is one of the restaurants I have been most excited for to open.
Corey needs to up his dress code. Opening night of a signature restaurant and he wears a backwards hat and a sweatshirt? Charles looked fine, BTW, so I'm not suggesting he needed to wear a tux. ;) And the pronunciation of some of the dishes was excruciating. Just have an idea of how things are pronounced and what they're supposed to look and taste like, that's all I'm saying! For example, pan con tomate is one of the most standard tapas, which is something they both should have known. Also wondering how Jaleo will work the DDP allowances, given it is mostly a tapas menu vs the standard appetizer/entrée/dessert lineup. Always appreciate Charles' thoughtful and insightful comments and reviews.
Love Charles as he seems more knowledgeable about good food. I would love to be on this team when reviewing restaurants since I consider myself a true foodie! Lol And I agree with the comment about the hat. Good Lord take it off!!
So many stuck up people in the comment complaining about the sweatshirt and the baseball cap. I thought Americans were supposed to be chill? Who the hell cares? It’s a theme park, get over yourself 🙄
I don’t know how I can eat there with the difficult pronunciation of the items!?!? I liked the presentation of the review, good banter and viewing of the dishes being served 👍👍👍👍
Always excited for your dining reviews!! Solution to the problem with pronounciations: simply ask your server to say it along with text in a banner on the video so we can see it as well. Great work, guys!
these guys should be your go to guys for restaurant reviews , they did a great job. why is moist supposed to be a word people don't like ? I love a moist cake
Really am fond of your dining reviews. Food choices were good and showed the quality of the food and atmosphere well. Especially with the table side carving. Personally adore relaxing and sampling a few good tapas at a relaxed pace instead of entrees at a restaurant of this style. The depth of flavor was well explained. This definitely is not just a meal but an experience. Definitely a occasion restaurant. Like that Charles dresses the part also.
I'd like to go there on our next trip in a couple of months, but I have questions. My s/o and I are pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but we're trying to get more fit. I could see us ordering the ham, shrimp, and other dishes, for example, but sharing them between the both of us. I recognize they would probably charge us for two entrees (or for an extra plate, whatever) if we were sharing it, but it's more about the portion size than the cost. If we wanted to do that would they allow that?
If this is like all of the other Jaleo restaurants then you pay per dish. It’s like tapas so designed to be “shareable”. Less focus on entrees (though they do have larger plates) and more focus on multiple small plates.
Thinking that the furniture is too close to the auto door setting it off.... Kinda funny to watch. Great reviews ❤️ I would ask the server on pronouncing the menu❤️
GUYS....the pronunciation???? YOU CAN GOOGLE IT dammit! Jeez....it is SPANISH, not Esperanto. This isn't rocket science!!!! Charles, I appreciate your comments pro/con re pronunciation...but to me, it is a mark of RESPECT for the culture you're experiencing to make the effort. And since you guys post the menus and show the words on screen often, it won't confuse the average non-linguist tourist to do it right. OH, and Corey? And if you don't like crispy and you don't like ham.....jeez......I feel for you, amigo! :) Iberico Ham is the finest in the universe. Truly. And frankly? That price is NOT, repeat, NOT out of line for that at all, almost cheap. FYI, at retail without the (a) restaurant and (b) DIsney markup, you can buy online a leg of Iberico ham for a paltry....$900!!! So this is a good deal! AND on the subject of price/value? This, like all of his restaurants, is a HIGH-quality HIGH-end place. Know that going in. To compare it to lesser places re. prices is irrelevant. You're going to spend this at, for example, Flying Fish and other high-end places at WDW. This "how much to fill my stomach" thing? Gosh....is that REALLY what we all value? I get the same feeling sometimes when you (meaning all the Dis folk) talk about cocktails based on how much you can "taste the alcohol" as if it is a buck-per-buzz equation. That may be true for a shot, but for a cocktail, just like for a restaurant dish, it is about the combination of flavors and the pleasures of enjoying it. When you add up the cost-per-fill-up of all the snack crapola one usually downs in the course of a day at the parks, well....I like popcorn and burgers as much as the next person, but the dollars add up anyhow. And Charles, as much as I know Orlando folks watch these shows, the person visiting the WDW Resort as a special and, even at "value" resorts, expensive vacation is not judging it based on average at-home date-night pricing, or at least I hope not because they'll be disappointed. Bottomline? IF you want a high-end, special, not-what-you-can-get-back-home-most-of-the-time experience, these prices in the context of WDW are "the new normal" for better or worse. Going into a vacation at WDW or a dining experience like Jaleo with the wrong expectation or mindset is setting yourself up for "buyers remorse" disappointment. It would be as if you said (and don't get me wrong because I know you did NOT) "Well, that Jamon was pretty good ham, but y'know, my local deli does a good ham and cheese for $4.95 so...I dunno...." It is what it is and deserves to be judged on its own merits and at its own price point. To me it isn't "Is this worth spending big bucks compared to cheaper options?" but rather "Compared to other special-occasion high-price restaurants at WDW or out in the world, is this a worthy contender?" and for my money and pov from what I saw in your video and what I've experienced elsewhere of Chef Andres's cuisine, it most certainly is. Thanks for the great review, and I hope my constructively-intended critique doesn't make you think I didn't appreciate it because I most surely did. Cannot WAIT to try this place on my next WDW visit. Thanks guys!
