- ذا مرض العبدُ بعث اللهُ إليه ملَكينِ فقال : انظُروا ما يقول لعُوَّادِه ؟ فإن هو إذا جاؤوه حمد اللهَ وأثنى عليه ، رَفعا ذلك إلى اللهِ ، وهو أعلمُ ، فيقول : لعبدي عليَّ إن توفَّيتُه أن أُدخِلَه الجنَّةَ وإن أنا شَفيتُه أن أُبدِلَه لحمًا خيرًا من لحمِه ، ودمًا خيرًا من دمِه ، وأن أُكفِّرَ عنه سيِّئاتِه

“When a person becomes ill, Allah Ta’ala sends two angels to him and says ‘See what he says to those who come to visit him. If he praises Allah when people come to visit him, the angels go to inform Allah -although Allah Knows very well-. Allah Ta’ala then says, ‘I take it upon Myself that if I cause him to pass away, I will grant him entry into Jannah, and if I cure him, I will replace him with better flesh, better blood and I will erase his sins.’” Muwataa Malik , Bayhaqi . Sahih By Sheikh Al Albani
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، - الْمَعْنَى - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، - قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ السُّلَمِيُّ - عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، وَكَانَتْ، لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَنْزِلَةٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغْهَا بِعَمَلِهِ ابْتَلاَهُ اللَّهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ أَوْ فِي مَالِهِ أَوْ فِي وَلَدِهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ زَادَ ابْنُ نُفَيْلٍ " ثُمَّ صَبَّرَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " . ثُمَّ اتَّفَقَا " حَتَّى يُبْلِغَهُ الْمَنْزِلَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى " .
Narrated Muhammad ibn Khalid as-Sulami:
on his father's authority said his grandfather reported: He was a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: When Allah has previously decreed for a servant a rank which he has not attained by his action, He afflicts him in his body, or his property or his children.
Abu Dawud said: Ibn Nufail added in his version: "He then enables him to endure that." The agreed version goes: "So that He may bring him to the rank previously decreed from him by Allah." Abu Dawood
حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ الصَّوَّافُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم دَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ السَّائِبِ أَوْ أُمِّ الْمُسَيَّبِ فَقَالَ " مَا لَكِ يَا أُمَّ السَّائِبِ أَوْ يَا أُمَّ الْمُسَيَّبِ تُزَفْزِفِينَ " . قَالَتِ الْحُمَّى لاَ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيهَا . فَقَالَ " لاَ تَسُبِّي الْحُمَّى فَإِنَّهَا تُذْهِبُ خَطَايَا بَنِي آدَمَ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ "
Jabir b. Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) visited Umm Sa'ib or Umm Musayyib and said:
Umm Sa'ib or Umm Musayyib. why is it that you are shivering? She said:" It is fever and may it not be blessed by Allah, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Don't curse fever for it expiates the sin of the children of Adam just as furnace removes the alloy of iron.' Sahih Muslim
