Really enjoyed watching the whole review/comparison. I liked the look of the safety on the steyr and I would bet my life savings that the vast majority of Brits would buy the AI (good to support British companies) and the vast majority of Austrians and Germans would by the Steyr. Both look excellant and as you said Chris they have passed all Military tests/criteria so either would be more than acceptable if I had a slot on my certificate.. Keep up the good work Chris and I really liked the comparison side of the review. Hope you can do more of them..
Great head-to-head. My first exposure to Steyr online was with Rex from Rex Reviews. The SSG-08 series and the rifle variants surrounding the same action. One very cool aspect of Steyr rifles and probably includes AI, is their Chamber specs. The Steyr has a CIP chamber; so a longer throat. For a reloader that is ideal, but more importantly it’s been said that more freebore could be responsible for more complete ignition of propellant in the chamber before going down the barrel. That can mean lower SD’s for down range use. Gotta love an AI though! Thanks! -Isaac
So two misfeeds are not so important? You are entitled to your opinion and you have done a transparent honest review , but you give value to things and features in a different way ... misfeeds are important to me. Plus ither things like having an ambidextrous safety means nothing to you. Both rifles are on the top of any sniper rifle wish list but as I say you seem to give importance to different features than me.
Great review, you cannot go wrong with either rifle. Both are capable of completing the same mission if deployed. I'm a fan of both companies, but have an AI AXSA for my long range sessions. I don't think that model from Steyr can be/ is imported to U.S. I would like to see someone do a review on the mag fed/single shot .50BMG Steyr bolt guns. Thanks again for the video!
i shot the ssg08 once and i know that very little trigger creep. the guy who owened it shot my ssg 69 p2 ,also with a double stage trigger, and was amazed by it. in my opinion for a standard military trigger the ssg69 is one of the finest. you should try it one time
I just recently shot a 1/4 MOA group at 300m with my Steyr SSG69 P2 and came away feeling like it is one of the best triggers on any rifle I own. That includes Jewel, Triggertech, Timney Calvin Elite, Rifle Basix, Worked Rem700, Worked Tikka etc. so I know what you mean!
Great rifles. Massive AI fan myself so a little bias but they just work. Have you tried the AXMk111? I feel it’s a step up On the AXMC. I own one in 300 Norma magnum, 6.5 Creedmoor & soon to be 338 Norma too. Fantastic rifle
Sorry, but this aluminium milled TIC TAC-s will never achive the beauty class of SSG 69. Is it a must for sniper rifles to have 3000 nuts, bolts, pins and 500 attachment places?
Nice head to head,I looked at both rifles last year but only had a budget of around 5k, so after a lot of research and watching many videos plumped for a cadex fcp ,I wasn't disappointed great rifles for more 1k cheaper than the Ai,and 3k cheaper than the styer, Would have loved to see a review Of all 3 side by side
Energy delivery, bulk cost, ability to satisfy government contracts, compatibility with military ammunition, sound moderation, armoury support, Im sure there are many more. One is a professional tool with lives at risk, the other is a recreational item.
Not the most important of considerations……but can you tell me what colour the AI is? I’ve been trying to find decent real world lighting pictures of the various colours
Great comparison, but the mother's weapons are missing from which these rifles come from, i.e. the Sako TRG M10 king of all kings, for sure the quality of the rifle, the barrel of the trigger is also better than both the king is only one SAKO TRG M10
I had one a few years ago, nothing particularly memorable about it other than it had been 'tested' before I had it and the Torx key on the bolt handle was all twisted and ground off, so no further use.
This has got to be up near the gold standard for reviews. Very well done!
An extremely comprehensive and informative review of two very fine rifles. Well done.
Thank you

'He' had a misfeed. Remember. It's his opinion on all aspects of these weapons.
Plese make a compareson this two models, with a brilliant German HAENEL RS9/338L.M, which i think it is the best on that class.
Brilliant video Chris 👏🏼

Brilliant review Chris, really enjoyed this one. Definitely the Ai for me but then I might be a bit biased 😁
Thank you, share it around!

Please make an head to head comparison of the AI AT-X vs the AX rifle
Same barrels, same action, different stock, different trigger, the ATX review will get done eventually but those are the essentials
Great head to head Chris thanks. AXMC for me too. Not only is it British it's 2K cheaper.
Thank you

Well this is a choice between the Triumph TR6 and the Porsche GT3. Clear choice.
The barrel what’s is made of ...hammer forged...chrome lined ...I think that would be a big deal to me

Of all 3 side by side
Thank you
The AT-X is due completion any day, that's the key item
Silly to not have both in clear view of the camera
What is better to choose for Lefty! ssg m1 and AXMC...
Life of the barrel as well
Can anyone tell me if the bolt receiver of the SSG M1 is made from aluminum or steel? Thanks!
What is the difference between a "sniper rifle" and a "PRS rifle"? Durability?? The specific features needed are different??

Pink and fusssscia..it'd go perfect with your purse and your eye make up.
@@lelandgaunt7130 Oh no, that won’t do……my purse and eye make-up are far more garish and flamboyant than pink/fuchsia.
