3rd Victorinox I ever bought proceeded by the Huntsman and Classic. The Phillips was the main interest, but an all around great blade/tool set. Thanks, Slippy.
Thanks for watching John! Honestly can't remember my 3rd Vic 😂😂
The Hiker is my EDC. If I wasn't an outdoor kind of person then the Tinker would my EDC. Both small enough to disappear in the pocket. I wish they still made the Small Tinker and Walker 😫
Awesome stuff brother
Mine just arrived and I found already how sharp the blade is :)
👀
The Hiker was my first SAK. Bought it in 1995 and still have it, together with another 57 SAKs. You can never have enough of them, it looks like.
Awesome 🔥🤘🏻
This was my first SAK as well and in '91. Got it on a childhood trip to Yellowstone. I was just looking to buy the biggest one I could afford. I think $45 back then? This knife turned out to be the perfect fit for my outdoor adventures since then. I'm now looking to start a collection ☺️
Much better than the Tinker, every SAK needs the saw.
100%
Something about the hiker just feels right… the saw being thinner than the scissors and the Philips not overhanging the scales like the corkscrew… 91mm version of the soldier 08… plus it feels like everyone’s last choice. Everyone loves the scissors rightfully so, and it seems like the idea is if you want the saw for outdoors you get the corkscrew to hold tinder and for untying knots… but it just screams TOOL to me. A saw and Philips have their place in the tool box, but scissors and corkscrews typically don’t. Being from America I was always a Leatherman guy, but when looking for a present for my groomsman in my wedding I wanted something high quality and manly without breaking the bank. The little Leatherman’s are kind of gimmicky, but I could get a nice full size SAK for ≈$30. I went with the hiker because 4 layers was too much, and I knew the guys were going to see it as a tool and not something they’d carry everyday for typical tasks. Once the hikers came in I fell in love and ordered another for myself. I’ve since got the huntsman, Fieldmaster, pioneer, and waiter… I’ve carried the pioneer everyday for awhile but none of the others. But man when I pick up the hiker it just feels right. It screams the quintessential SAK (almost as if it’s the pocket version of the one the actually Swiss Army carry’s 😉). Even though it’s far from the most popular. Almost everyday I want to carry it over my pioneer but I need the toughness/sleekness/professionalism of the Alox. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol.
Amazing! Hope you had a great wedding 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hey Matt 👊
That's hilarious, I nearly uploaded the Victorinox Hiker, but decided to go for the Farmer Alox instead 😁
Thanks for sharing,
Atb Gus 👍
Farmer is great, I carryed one for over 15 years, and just started carrying a Hiker on account of the Farmer almost getting confiscated at a sporting event. Both great knives, right now I'm really digging the Hiker though, ended up using the philips quite a bit right out off the bat, and keeping that second blader razor sharp, just waiting for the day you need it, is like money in the bank.
Love all the Alox models 🤘🏻
Thanks again,
Always welcome
I've subscribed and hit the notification bell. Can't wait for more doses of happiness!
Welcome aboard!
Their QC is definitely among the very best!
Good stuff as always mate👊🏻
Couldn't agree more!
Nice video, but you missed a few functions
If you notice on top there is a light yellow thingy, when you pull it out it acts like a toothpick
Also on the other side in the grey colour there is a clamp on it if you pull it out
Yes, you are right
I know the Hiker isn't the most popular model, but I really like it. The wood saw works really well - and not just on wood. I've had a lot of success with it on PVC and other hard plastics, and it also works great on the thicker varieties of cardboard. The saw also makes a decent zip tie breaker for larger zip ties.
Not to mention reaching kid's toys under the couch!
Thanks for sharing!
Buen dia, esta muy bien explicado el video, sobre todo en cuestion de las imagenes.
Lo que explico al hablar, no lo entendi ya que, no se ingles.
Pero las imagenes del video, se entiende bastante bien.
Por eso le doy like.
Thank you for the kind words
Absolutely that’s why I’m surprised they can stay there
Omg I can’t believe they didn’t shut them down
Slipjoint~ perfect recording, bye-;))
Thank you sir
There has only been one Victotinox with blade rub... and I got it, Excellent knife and review brother!
Thanks Randy
I agree, the red scales are the classic ones for Victorinox knives. I dunno, there's just something about Victorinox knives isn't there ? They just all ooze quality as soon as you pick one up lol.
I'm obsessed
Great review on this SAK Slippy! 👍Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!
Thanks, you too!
Those are great knives! I do have a few SAKS ! Just never carried them! Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Thanks, you too!
I love the Hiker. One for my collection. One for EDC & one I have modified with yellow plus scales and some extra bits.
Amazing Raymond
I was worried mine was a counterfeit because only the bottle opener did a 90 degrees snap, but it looks like it's supposed to be like that. I'm loving mine, it has excellent quality and very comfortable in your hand.
100% legit brother 🤘🏻
I bought this based upon the fact that it has almost the exact same toolset as ''the'' Swiss Army knife, i.e. the one currently issued to the Swiss Army, and the German Army, but it's UK legal.
Awesome 🤘🏻
Another great video, definitely gave me something to think about. One day I will choose a new SAK 🤩.
You should!
That’s a beauty! Very nice model. Love the saw blade! Thanks for showing! Have a great Friday evening! Cheers, RW
Thanks, you too!
I really like the Hiker. Mine stays in my regular carry rotation. Thanks for your thoughts on it, buddy!
Right on
Awesome review, thanks. I have ordered this as I'm a hiker and will use it for EDC.
Good choice!
The Tinker with a saw. The Tinker is my fav edc. Hiker is best for camping. Imo
Awesome
I found the awl is great for cleaning out the female pin plug for the trailer connection.
That's a great idea!
I have an older style of this knife but instead of the saw, it has a scissors. I'm unsure of the model of this knife, could you please help with identifying it...
That sounds like a climber 🤘🏻
@@SlipjointSawyer Nope, it doesn't have a corkscrew or a hook. Just an awl and Philip screwdriver on the one side. 2 blades, scissors, can opener and bottle opener on the other.
@@tag8urit super tinker?
My EDC, love this knife!!
Awesome
Bro…I can’t wait until you get a gec fr
I've got a few GEC 👀
Nice ❤😊
Thanks 🤗
Thanks for the review.
I think I've seen my collecting goal: all the victorinox with the wood saw! 🪵
You and me both!
