At the risk of sounding like a broken record - you guys are awesome. I've been pasting the following reply on reactions to this song, because it's true:
I am SO happy this song is out.
To understand _The System,_ you have to realize two fundamental truths:
1) Those controlling "The System" are _Eugenicists._ Look up "eugenics" - the term doesn't come from Star Trek. Their basic, intrinsic views are rooted in their interpretation of genetics.
2) Ask why those running "The System" _hate_ the movie _Idiocracy:_ it shows too much of the end-goal.
"Idiocracy" shows a comedic take on where those running "The System" want to take "lower" society: Stupid people are good, because they are easier to control. Smart people, in contrast, are only good if they agree with and promote The System. If you are smart, but hate The System, you have to be dealt with -- it's not about ki11ing you; that rarely has to happen, because it is usually a hard narrative to control. It is FAR easier to simply demoralize and depress you, then simultaneously encourage you (and any children you might have) to take mood-altering drugs that you don't need; _much_ better, is to depress you to the point where you do not want to have children in the first place, in the belief that bringing a child into such a dysfunctional world is the height of irresponsibility...which is the _other_ reason why abortion and birth control are promoted so heavily - it's population control, alright: controlling future opponents of The System.
There is one - and ONLY one - enemy: The System
You fight back, by doing those things that The System does not want you to do, but cannot attack you for doing....and the more people that do these things, the weaker the grip of The System becomes.
Good post; while speaking on eugenics I'd include the fact that Planned Parenthood (largest abortion provider in America) was founded by Margaret Sanger, a eugenicist with the stated goal of wiping out blacks in America. She'd speak at Klan rallies. Her beliefs were not a secret. Planned Parenthood and the push to legalize abortion was born of purely racist motives. Look where most PP's are located; predominantly black areas. More black babies are terminated than are born each year in NYC. Odd isn't it that the liberals who think they're fighting for women's rights are fulfilling the goal of someone who wanted the genocide of blacks.

You're still thinking to small. Answer a few questions. Who decides the work week will be Monday to Friday and not Tuesday to Saturday? Who decides this fashion is in this year and something else next year? Who decides this news story is it and not other one's? Who decides the work hours are from 9 to 5 and not 8 to 4? Who decides what your money is worth? Once you can answer those questions. You'll be on the right track. On figuring out "the system". Government and politicians are just as f'd as we are by it. They are not minnows but just still little fish.
Finally someone gets the ultimate point. "The system" creates talking points that are ultimately miniscule to distract from the important issues.
Yes the politicians are so whacked as well. Both sides push dumbass talking points that distract from the big picture. The world wide corporate conglomerates just laugh to the bank every day.
