I had to step back after watching this epic performance and reflect. You had a bad day in the office.but got a promotion to seat on the board. There was something very very different about you out there that was enervating and moving. It's an entirely different Kel, some one who has been fused by the training and application the dedication to get the job done, but also who has had the courage to be publicly accountable to the moon journey you set yourself. Kel, you are nothing short of fecking inspiration. You have stopped dead in its tracks anyone who dares to say I can't. I'm off to the moon now thanks to you.
Freakin’ awesome Kelly. It is soooooooo inspirational to see someone smash their running goals. I know how emotional it feels to finish a massive physical effort. People who haven’t done it don’t understand the tears. You did fantastically! Well done.
Congratulations Kelly!!!! Felt every emotion, helped me remember why we run the marathon, which was very much needed, after a missed PB in London. What a journey. Xx
Well done on your excellent PB! I was there as well, running my first marathon at age 63! I was also sick three weeks before the race so, had no final long run and virtually no tapering.🤒 My race was not pretty with my hip-flexors starting to hurt from around 16km for some bizarre reason?? Just got progressively worse throughout the race but at least I was able to drag myself over the finish line!
This was a real example of strength and perseverance through remarkable challenges. Well done. Also, it was nice to see that two people can look out for each other like that. So well done to both of you.
Great effort. Enjoy the win, the PB is huge. Your training certainly suggests you are well sub 4 but that will come next time. Everyone of these makes you stronger. See you in Boston 2024!!
oh my word Kelly. I shed a few tears at the end. You looked SO FREAKING STRONG!!! Congratulations ❤️ . This is so motivating for me as I attempt a PR this weekend at the Atlantic City Marathon. You rock!
That was an amazing watch and woooooof, did I ever cry along with you. I hope to be able to run like you someday Kelly. Thanks for taking us along on the ride and showing all the highs and lows. I hope you're getting some good rest in now, take good care of yourself!
That was straightforward enough 😀..!! Well under 4hrs next time without the various problems chesty/struggle at 17-19 miles. The *get bored not tired* is great advice for the first half (and well beyond) for a marathon.
42 minute PB and without the unlucky timing of the illness it would of been more. Just shows how transformational this block has been! Well done for pushing so hard and congratulations on the 4:03:10! 🎉🎊🏅🏃🏻♀️
😭😭 omg practically in tears here watching. You did so so well Kelly and uve every right to be so frigging proud of yourself.loved the video and brought back all the feels of Sunday, thank u 🙌🤗
What a great video, I cried at the end. It does suck when things don't go to plan. I was supposed to run a marathon the same day but picked up an injury after my final big long run so ended up not doing it. Still a great PB for you so well done. 🥰
Congratulations on a wonderful new PB. It´s so inspiring to be joining you and your husband on this triumphant day. And I feel this film captures what a marathon is like. No tricks, just plain hard work and willpower to get to the finish line. Well done!!👏👏👏
Among the running blogosphere, this is right up there with Ben Parkes's 2018 Valencia Marathon video and Ginger Runner's 'Amongst the Everglades ' terms of it's inspirational awesomeness.
Who crying? Not me, ok maybe a little!! Outstanding performance Kelly. That mental fitness is so important. You fought through those thoughts of DNF. Keep grinding and those times will fall
Kelly, you friggin' rocked it!! I was getting choked up when you finished....be proud of yourself! Thank you for sharing, and congrats on a new epic PB!!! And there's more to come!
I cried 😭 looked a stunning course and what a great great race you had. Huge congrats to you and the coach even if he did lie about being at mile 20 soon 😂
What an amazing video! I've done Amsterdam 3 times and you captured the experience perfectlly, even down to the guy in the jet pack on the water around the HM point. You dug in so well and did brilliantly. And you are so right when you say that the marathon is humbling. I've been humbled every time I've run one, even on the days when it's gone well and I've got the time I aimed for. I think people don't always appreciate how hard it is as a distance in this day of people doing ultras and the like. The marathon is still a beast and always will be. You did amazingly well and should be so proud - well done! 👍
Massive congratulations on your enormous PB. Be super proud especially while not feeling 100%. Next one will be sub 4 for sure and then onwards to that 3:30!. When I passed you (15:58 11579 says hi!) I saw the struggle. Good to see you picked up quickly after and kept going so well after that rough patch!
Fantastic vid Kelly & Matt you put the work in and it paid off 👏 Amazing City marathon but the out and back around the water 🤯😮 I didn't think that would ever end. Looking forward to watching you both take on Valencia in December. Keep up the great vids to inspire us 🎯😁👌
Oh that river stretch…. 🤯 was a great feeling when got over that bridge heading back though 😂 Huge well done to you for Sunday too 🎉 really lovely to meet you, and thank you for the finish company at parkrun too! Hope to see you soon! ☺️
Congratulations Kelly, your series, your training and your pb’s this year have been the best. Enjoy some well earned rest and we all know you’ll be back even stronger than before 💪
Congratulations for that amazing PB Kelly, great effort!! I ran Amsterdam as well, was my first Marathon and managed to finish in 03:12:54, it's a great course.
I'm so frustrated I don't have time to watch right now.... track session calling... but the title of the video tells me it's gonna be awesome. Smashed it Kel, well done, you deserved this one.
I don’t know you (only through social media) but I have followed your journey/adventures with interest and joy and none more so than this Marathon video and I find myself being SUPER proud of you and your achievements - very well done to you (and Matt 🤫)
Congratulations on a massive PB, that's incredible! Thanks for posting, your video has been so helpful; I ran it on Sunday too and it was my first marathon. Having trained to 36km quite easily, I really struggled from 25km on Sunday and nearly bailed, plus calf cramps from 32km. I managed the finish time I wanted, but have been feeling disappointed by just how hard it felt! I was definitely naïve. I think you sum it up perfectly "humbled by the marathon". Huge kudos to you and your cheer squad☺️
Wow amazing job, congrats on the PB. You are so right about the marathon humbling everyone, we’ve all been there. I hope you’re still over the moon with the time, it’s not the end of your PBs, just the next in a long line of them! 🎉💪
Massive well done Kelly! Always a punch in the gut when you know you're capable of more, but how far have you come?!?! Outstanding work ethic, stand back and be proud 🥰 (and kudos to Matt for running with a camera for 4 hrs 😂!)
A PB on a bad day is pretty sweet. But also yeah knowing you could have done even better is a thing. That's a good feeling to know you have more in you. Congratulations!
Wow, you went to the bottom of your soul to get through that one. Massive respect to you for hanging in there Kelly. I hope that you have recovered from the marathon and your cold completely now. AMAZING EFFORT!
So emotional!!! What are you doing to me 😩 You looked so strong Kelly!! That horrible 17-19 mile wobble but then you rallied and pushed on. Great great running. I hope you are so proud. Huge well done from me 😊😘
Massive well done Kelly! Toughed it out, which shows real character!!! 💪 Come the next marathon, another big PB on its way, I reckon!! 😊 Rest up and enjoy this big victory! ✌️
You earned it! You're so strong. All these weeks of such hard work and how mentally strong you were during the run! 🎖️ And like you said at the end: you have an even faster marathon in you at this point for sure!!!
Congratulations Kelly, amazing vlog and amazing PB! Lovely to see you on the start and to cheer you on in that last km. I hope one day I get to meet Alice, her poster made me tear up xxxx
Huge PB! (In the US we tend to say PR and I have no idea why 🤣). With lingering cough like that it's really tough. You now have a new baseline to work down from, much closer to the BQ #!!! And IMO, It's totally normal to be both happy and not with it. I had a 3+ min PR but landed squarely on 3:16:00. Why not that one damn second less!? Still aggravates me. Both that I can't just be happy with the PR and the second. Do to think Kipchoge thought to himself, secretly, "why not 10 seconds faster, I would have had 2:00:59?" 🤣 I feel like nearly all runners have this happy but still want more problem.

Talk about a power couple! Congrats!!!
So emotional watching this. Being real about the expectations and end result is the best. Congratulations 👏
