I always loved the look of the TR7. With the red paint, it looks like it's doing 30 while standing still.

Nice one Rob. Makes you wonder what the TR7 would look like if Triumph were still building cars today , but it's one of those cars that woukd probably look great today 👍

Who knew a Majorette casting could look so good! Great job dude.

Great finish on the red and that interior does look pretty good. For opening doors, they're a pretty neat fit too.👍

Very nice! That casting looks good in red. I used to see a TR7 around town when I was a kid. It was yellow, but no two body panels were the _same_ yellow. I think that was the same guy who later had a Saab Sonett.

I own a real 1980 Triumph TR7 convertible, Brooksland green.
Matchbox did a great job with the attention to detail of the that car.
    Very nice restoration.
    On another note,
let us pray for the end of this
Corona virus. Thanks for the video

When I was in junior high school ( mid '70s), there was a dealership the bus went past on the way home, and they sold the TR-7 " The Wedge". I remember seeing them in bright colors, red , green and yellow. Some had black tops and stripes. I always thought they looked futuristic, at least from a '70s viewpoint..again, a great restoration, and then some.

Hi Rob, there is a technique called dry brushing. After the brush (A fan type is best) is dabbled in paint you would wipe the brush on the side of the conatiner until it's nearly dry. Then with a very light touch, swipe across the raised letters such is on the number plate and the paint should only adhere to the raised portion of the lettering. It takes a bit of practice but works well once you get the hang of it.
Try it out and let me know how it works out for you.

Great restoration! Nice final touches such as black handles, side and front lights. I just bought one from ebay and I think I'll make it in white: during my childhood in Milano (Italy) I used to admire a white one going to school in my neighborhood 😊 Thanks for sharing your videos, I am learning so much from your experience!!!

Fun fact: actualy have a TR7 in our school bodyshop, it used to be painted in a dark purple colour with a yellow stripe i believe but right now it has been repaired, no more holes in the sideskirts or rust in the engine bay or on the front bumper. It has been preped for paint and is sitting in our paint booth... waiting the end of the coronavirus so we can come back and finish it.
I live in Belgium btw and that virus is really annoying us too

Though it is more of a maroon red, a red TR7 appeared on THE NEW AVENGERS, though the more common yellow TR7 on the show was the mainstay model, driven by Joanna Lumley's Purdey. Thanks for the video! Nice job!

one could say that the paint removing on this casting was a total triumph! XD
nice and shiny again. :) I bet the original paintjob wasn't as good. majorette had big problems with paints during that period. I remember unpacking one Thunderbird Mk7 and the paint already flaked off. took it apart and repainted it in Mercedes Silberdistel light green metallic, with green interior. :) looked a lot better like that. I still have it, too. ^^
