      Horse daily energy requirement derived from fibrous plant material (SCFAs fermented in gut) = 50%
      Gorilla= 20%
      Pig = 6%
      Dog = 4%
      Humans = less than 2% supporting thr fact that humans are less dependent on fibrous plant material, and a brain and cells that require fats for fuel

    I'm a physical therapist with over 27 yrs of experience, and have been personally dealing with UC since 2015. From my own extensive research and experience, I can strongly affirm that going carnivore is the best option for reaching remission and stopping all medications when dealing with UC. I tried the SCD diet (12 months), GAPS diet (12 months) , veganism (6 months) and frutarian (aka High Carb) diet (6 months), and none put me in remission. However, just 2 weeks after going 100% carnivore in 2018, the bleeding, pain/cramps, tiredness/fatigue, etc stopped; and the overall healing began. I can honestly say that I now feel better than before UC: I feel cured. In all, UC has been a curse and a blessing in my life.
    I have also applied this gained knowledge with my chronic pain patients, where dealing with their root cause of inflammation (mostly their diets) is the key ingredient to fixing most of their health and physical issues.

    Doctors F'd me up with this. They gave me acid blockers and all my symptoms kept getting worse. I went from a little stomach issue after antibiotics straight to depression , stress , anxiety , food coming back up ( acid refulx ) etc. I mean my sex drive was gone , my strength was gone , i was a wreck ! till i started eating hella fat and meat. When i was down they kept telling me to eat more greens and fruits , diet exercise etc which didn't help for crap. I lost 2/3 years of my life and this makes me mad. Loved this conversation! Most carnivore/ low carb discussions are fundamentally about weight loss. I am not overweight, but it has taken me several years to be able to nourish myself without gut pain. Cutting gluten helped, but inflammation still occurred. A hospital Dietician introduced me to FODMAP diet which helped, but main ‘cure’ has been an animal based zero processed way of eating which I have done myself through the support of TH-cam doctors like these two. Sincere thanks 🙏

The fact that humans have a canabinoid system is interesting as well. Native Americans found tobacco all on their own too. Even elephants eat fermenting fruit on occasion and get "drunk". Things changed when all items became available at all times IMO. It's an interesting thought experiment to ponder what is a "treat " or better what is an personally acceptable choice. Moderation can be all that's required in certain individuals and practicing self control in itself is very rewarding.

    Super helpful content. My Crohns symptoms have exponentially decreased since I’ve turned Carnivore. I’ve also seen huge enhancements in my mental acuity, attention, clarity. I am never looking back and feel I can remain Carnivore. The dialogue on systemic healing is so relevant and I appreciate you both dispelling the common arguments about fiber. It’s the first thing everyone jumps on when I say I’m carnivore. Healing the systemic inflammation and resting the gut have helped take care of the rest without me ever thinking about added fiber. I trialed the Low FODMAP, Bean Protocol, Ketogenic, and Fasting/Element diets. Each benefited something a little for very short periods of time, yet left so many other things and symptoms aggressive for Crohns to flare and leave me starting all over again. I have high hopes to fully put Crohns into remission and go off the drugs with Carnivore. Many thanks for bringing this free content to audiences everywhere.

Obviously I have more healing but this was so wonderful. Oh and it’s basically a free treatment. IBS for years gone in a very short time. Everyone I know is suffering from some form of IBS. Hey Doc, Nutrition with Judy just dropped a very good video this morning that goes into some of the detail as to why over doing it on organ meats are likely the cause for Saladino and others "so called need" for carbs. It's relatively short but shows comparisons of data on nutrients of meats and organs and how it can easily get numbers out of whack and cause issues. I would be interested to hear what you think of her hypothesis. And.... see you at 6pm!!

      Awesome! Yeah I will likely agree with her assessment. I think it is to do with organ meats, and carbs raise your requirement for vitamins, so it could very well balance things out a bit. Either way, it's not from being carnivore or without carbs, because I and others have been doing this way longer than he has, and none of the same problems

      I found Judy's video invaluable! I had the same problem as Saladino - the thumping heart. I tried to have some carbs, but it caused other problems. I then realized it was the aged beef I was eating. I switched to a varied meat/fish diet (well before Judy's video) and added more salt and the thumping has gone. Must be to do with the excess vitamins Judy was talking about. Interesting!

      @@jaytee7819 what made you look into the aged beef as a potential cause of your symptoms? It would have never occurred to me that a meat itself could be the issue. Her vitamin theory makes all kinds of sense but I don't get what aged beef would have that makes it do that. Does aging affect the beefs vitamins? There is so much I'm still learning even after being keto for so many years and strict carnivore for almost 2 years and now lion for the past 6 months. It's amazing how much food and "fake food" can control our health. I was very glad when I came across Dr Chaffee. He is brilliant and his arguments seem to be so common sense and easy to grasp. Based on my experience and what I have learned from him, dr berry, dr fung, dr ekberg, dr baker, even dr saladino and some others it is so clear that I am on the right path. I put my Ulcerative Colitis in remission in a week by eating high fat carnivore diet (mainly grass fed beef and bone marrow). My doctor literally told me I had to choose biologics or surgery. Works almost as quick as steroids with no side effects. 3 days of nausea when you start out but totally worth it. Almost 3 months into the diet now, every time I've cheated I pooped blood. Currently on day 20 without cheating at all. It can be extremely hard for people with food addictions but still worth it in my opinion. I have 5+ other autoimmune conditions that are healing as well. Nutrition "advice" from my gastroenterologist has been so confusing! I wish I had known about this way of eating 18 years ago when I developed diverticulitis and a subsequent abscess and fistula at age 36! I had to have 7 inches of my colon removed from a condition I was told typically only affected 70 year olds! I had been on many diets throughout the years trying to combat the Standard American diet and sugar addiction. I asked my gastroenterologist what I should change in terms of food--and he said I could eat whatever I wanted! What!?? Even I knew there MUST have been some link between the food I had been eating and this condition. As I started to research more, I read that I should eat more fiber--but that just caused more pain and distress. I started eating a primarily meat-based way of eating nearly 2 years ago, and my gut symptoms are SO much better. My mom also adopted a keto diet to reverse her Type 2 diabetes. She was able to transition off insulin within just a few months. Food is medicine--I wish I had learned that earlier in life!

    My ancestors for instance are northern European. They had very little access to plant foods, especially during winter.

Most likely, in both instances, for millenia with acompanying biological evolution (mircobiome etc.) Only in the past few centuries has the accessablity changed. And drastically at that. Would it be safe to assume that, processed foods aside, we have differing biological preferences for optimal health?

    BTW isn't fasting ancestral ? I mean they hardly had three meals a day + take away. Fasting is not starving - like I said above . Eat fully and less often. To me that mimics ancestral lifestyle. When a fully trained non addicted carnivore you probably can safely eat when you are truly hungry and let your evolution regulate, right?

    In my first half of the 40ies I lived on a diet of cigarettes and alcohol. I also did kajak, bicycle, training, running- daily. I had hardly any body fat. I fasted without wanting to.
    I don't think anybody would deem this healthy BUT maybe need to look at longterm sustainability when talking about diet. Younger people ,like your wonderful impressive selves, can live on pretty much anything - but for how long?
    Today : fasting and predominantly carnivore. I lift heavy during 48 hour fasts too ( at the 40hour mark)I have 48 hour fast once a week and daily 20 hour fast or so. I am 60 in spite of a lifestyle that , even after stopping with cigs and alcohol, that made me obese / overweight. Now I want to go back to being strong - and I will thanks to low carb/ carnivore/fasting and building muscle. I did the 180 some years ago turning my back on calories -in -calories- out paradigme and luckily I found doctors who also did. Thank you

    Normally, the opposite is found, ie hypokinesia of the gb. Hyperkinesia is rare, but produces similar issues of biliary colic, coarse liver findings on u/s, and gb distention with thickened walls.... But no stone formation or sludge.
    Would taking tudca or bile salts help ease the burden on the gallbladder and calm it down? Removal is usually the treatment, but not gonna do that!
    Also, what would cause the liver to be coarse on the ultrasound... Would this be fat or fibrotic tissue?

      Hey no worries! Yeah I would first drop the caffeine, as on Carnivore it will affect you much, much more. So that first. Second, heavy beats can happen, and did for me, but they are often just your heart starting to get more fit and healthy. There are EKG patterns that we see commonly in athletes who are getting in better shape, and I've seen this in several of these Carnivore heavy heart beat patients. However, that doesn't mean that's what's happening to you, and so if you have a concern you should get an EKG yourself and see what's going on

    Pran is clearly still a victim of carb addiction and has not attempted a ketogenic carnivore diet long enough to understand that carbs are not necessary for athletic performance. Your recent chat with Bart Kay is much more informative.
    “Quality carbohydrate” is just a bullshit term to justify feeding a person’s carb addiction. The purpose of consuming carbohydrates is to derive energy from them. You can much more effectively assimilate energy from pure sugar than you can from a “whole food” like a yam that contains a bunch of fiber and polysaccharides. That’s why people instinctively prefer sources of carbs from pure monosaccharides and disaccharides (refined sugars) > fruit > vegetable juice > tubers cooked to the point of caramelization > tubers cooked at lower temperature > cooked starches > raw tubers/starches. People are driven first by the taste of fructose, then by the taste of glucose. If you can’t taste fructose or glucose in a carbohydrate-dominant food, you have no instinctive inclination to eat it.
    The only justifications for eating a “whole food” carbohydrate instead of sugar is that it (1) nourishes your gut biome and intestinal lining (which is only a valid argument in the absence of other means of sustaining your gut biome like ketogenesis), and (2) helps prevent you from endlessly consuming carbohydrates because you’ll eventually become so bloated with fiber you can’t eat anymore (speaking from experience on a Specific Carbohydrate diet).
    Thanks, Anthony, for continuing to cut through all the bullshit out there. Leading by example!

      Look into Thiamine (B1) deficiency - I think carnivore is great because it leaves out all potentially reactive things. But I also think there might still be deficiencies (maybe from an unbalanced diet for years before) so it makes sense to supplement in the beginning. Thank you so much for a very informative episode. I’ve had ins all my life and have also developed allergies and asthma late in life.
    We are all individuals and that’s the problem. They want to bunch us all together when it should be an individualised situation.
    Hmm climate change, they need to stop spraying our food with the chemicals that cause harm. Organic is better and understand that food costs a lot more if you purchase organic.
    I suggest people wash the fruit and veggies with vinegar before they consume them or put them in fridge. Eat what you can but in moderation. Avoid foods that are packaged and contains more than 3 ingredients. Processed food is our biggest issue and plant based food isn’t necessarily the best option.
    If you are going to buy meat buy it from a reputable butcher unless the supermarket can guarantee that the meat is of good quality without preservatives.
    Learn to make everything from scratch, it’s not really all that hard and you can meal prep in advance.
    I get that people are busy but it can be done.
    grow your own food, ok it’s hard work but totally worth it. I put in 30 tomato plants this year and I made heaps of passata, pasta sauce, relish, chutney, sauce, Quetta, pickles etc etc. you can also buy your tomatoes in for passata and pasta sauce. I’m now done after 4 weeks worth of work.
    All you need is a little bit of knowledge, jars, hard work and storage space.
    If you would like recipes just send a message.
    Also also preservatives will affect your bowel and if you drink wine, watch the sulphurs etc. there are certain wines I don’t drink like the pink ones. You will learn as you progress your journey,
    Cheers and blessing to everyone. Ps keep a food diary if you need to pinpoint a problem. 🙏
    And deer meat is great I never ate it until I met my partner. But you have to know what to look for.
