    The price may be only 1300 higher but right now you can walk out with the 2018 for 10-14000 under sticker and the new ones will be sold at retail more than likely or with very little price reduction . So the 2019 is 10-15000 more..

    • @dlakerguy
      @dlakerguy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For now... Once the 2018s are all gone then the rebates will come out for the 2019s. GM is in the business of selling vehicles. These wont sell very often at full price. Prices will drop soon enough.

    I think its the best looking Chevy truck in decades. It looks modern with Classic Chevy looks. I am a Ram guy but I think the new Ram has gone a bit soft with rounded lines. This has sharp lines that look great, not the interior is a bit of a let down.

      I think the 2019 Chevy's look decent. GM does some stuff right and there arebthings I wish they did differently. I wish Ram had stuck with the cross-hair grille for 2019.

    • @ibanez720rg
      @ibanez720rg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Probably 95% of customers will only engage 4WD when it snows. Thats why it's offered. I've probably put my truck in low range 3 times in the 13 years I've owned it.

    • @fordmud
      @fordmud 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brian Rocco
      Well it may sound bad not having low, but really with the 6,8,10 speed transmissions and the power trucks are making now days, low range seems kinda pointless. I mean unless your taking a brand new truck to turn into a rock crawler low range seems kinda pointless, I have newer f150 and if its in first gear 4x4 high it definitely has the power to basically handle anything a halfton or just your tires as far as grip are going to handle. Plus its low enough gearing in first to not overheat like the old 3 and 4 speeds would at slow speeds.

    • @roadrunner7828
      @roadrunner7828 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They'll bring it back if Ford and Ram keep it. I don't use low range much at all but it's nice to have when I need it. It's kind of like not getting a manual trans anymore, they said most people prefer autos. Of course since they didn't build many trucks with manual transmissions, people didn't have a choice.

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Kenneth Hughes It's NOT gone. 4-low is just optional now. Want a 2-speed transfer case on your 2019+ GM half-ton? Make sure it's a Z71. Done. That's it. All it takes.

    I like the front end on the Custom Trail Boss much better than the truck in this video. So much so that I bought a 2020 Custom Trail Boss in white and I just love the thing. Just a basic truck that is fun to drive, looks great with the factory lift. My last truck was a 2016 Crew Cab High Country DRW which I needed to haul my 5000 pound camper. A camper no longer meets our needs so I bought the 1/2ton Trail Boss. This is my first light truck in 40 years and I forgot how much fun they are. My 2020 Trail Boss feels like a sports car after the big beast.

    wax coating frames still???? and this is why on avg gm frames rust out quicker than any other automotive truck producer. it's 2018 and gm still uses an inferior method to help protect their frames from rust. gm needs to quit cheaping out and do what every other automotive truck producer has done for the past 30 years now and paint their frames with rust resistant paint.

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???? You do realize that Toyota was taken to court and had to settle for selling trucks and SUV's with frames that were breaking in half due to rust rot that took as little as 6 years to occur, right??? And those frames were PAINTED. Shit, Ford was putting out 2015 F-150's with frames that had rust all over every sharp edge and weld on them despite being e-coated. There isn't a truck sold today that has a coating that never rusts. I live in the heart of the rust belt where the county uses so much salt you'd swear you were driving on gravel most of the time.

      a_a_ron that’s not even half the states. Also not even the most populated states for that matter.
      I’m just saying what ever Genius that decided to put white shocks under a truck is not very good at their job.
      They aren’t even real Ranchos, they are special ordered shocks put together from a bunch of different companies with a rancho sticker on it.
      They are 90% the same as the base black ones.

    • @ElectricBlueIX
      @ElectricBlueIX 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very easy to change out shocks...and not expensive either.

    • @NWCPcbenchmarks
      @NWCPcbenchmarks 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a_a_ron ya but you shouldn’t have to, you pay a extra 3k for the bullshit Z71 “off road” and you have to change out your shocks? Lol what?
      I bought rancho quick lift and rancho 9000xl for mine and I wouldn’t do it again they are awful.
      Fox will set you back 2k for front and back at the very least
      And bilstein 5100 you have to re-use your coils which to me is completely stupid because if your changing out your shocks your coils should be changed as well, I guess you can buy new springs or or hear me out GM could put them on to start with? :D

    I fixed many chevy GMC Ford pickup rusted frames the problem is the holes in the frames leaves water ,dirt road salts in there are not holes in the bottom to drain out , the second problem is where they spot weld plates for more strength instead of a heavy three sided channel. Plus the cheap imported steel.We live in eastern Pa. A lot of road salt is used here

    A damaged Aluminum panel does not have to be replaced. Aluminum panels have been around for years and repair is quite common. I sure would hate to have to replace my door when I get a door ding.

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Repairing an F-150 aluminum panel can take up to 30 days. It requires a body shop that's certified to do aluminum repair, equipped with a completely separate set of tools used just for aluminum repair. Unless you're okay with an aluminum truck that's been improperly repaired that begins to exhibit severe oxidization due to contamination and the paint refuses to stick to it.

I know theses trucks are expensive. But it’s expensive to build the tooling to make them. That’s not including the time it takes to even design them..just food for thought for people who don’t know much about the price of the tooling..and just say like for the fenders.. it takes 5 huge dies just to make the fenders

      There isn't a truck sold today that has a frame that won't rust without the owner maintaining it. It doesn't matter if it's painted or e-coated, it WILL rust. The rust rot legend, the Toyota Tacoma, had a painted frame and there were Tacoma's ready to break in half in less than 6 years. Frames are a maintenance item regardless of which coating it has on it.

      hochhaul Quit trying to defend the shitty wax. I own multiple trucks that use it, it’s garbage. All of these trucks rot. Thin boxed in frames that will rot out and you cant do anything about it. The old C channel frames we could restore because it was open and thick steel , now you have super thin steel you cant get at to maintain. Once the rust starts the truck is on a timeline because you cant properly fix it. You wont see these trucks being restored in 40 years unless they are being put on new frames. Nox rust is garbage, and thin boxed in frames are garbage. GM doesnt want your truck to last 20 years, they want you buying a new one in 8 years. The whole auto industry has done this as a profiteering racket. Offer less quality vehicles, at higher prices that last half as long. $$$$

    ... Look at all the skid plates. Check out that frame... why don't you open the doors and show us where they have neglected to put paint on the bottom of them? And that wax coating, washes off in salt water. And then it looks just like every other Silverado frame on the market. By the way... What is the repair procedure on cracks in the frame? Is it still the traditional V groove and backing plate? What is the heat range for which I can apply to that frame before it becomes brittle and brakes? What color heat crayon are we using now? Did they finally box in the areas that were most prone to cracking? In which case... Does that mean the frame is junk when it gets hit? Just like all the other ones? Bottom line is... It's still a Chevy truck. And it's still a great money maker. Which is a polite way of saying... they're junk. And for all of those who are looking to finance the new Chevy Silverado 2019 Z71... You're probably better off paying cash. Because the loan has a greater life expectancy... Then the truck. Especially if, they're not going to finish painting them. Owen for your information... Moisture barrier is not paint. And the fact that they are coating the moisture barrier with wax, is a testament how cheaply manufactured these trucks are.

My 2011 F-150's frame was all rusted up when I traded it in for my 2015 F-150. That was e-coated. None of the truck manufacturers use a good frame coating if you ask me. If you live in the rust belt you need to take care of your frame If you want it to stay rust free. There is no such thing as a maintenance free permanent rust protestant. Well except for some of the epoxy based stuff that lasts 20+ years lol.
