Great informative video, I’ve only flown with mine once and I got bit when hand catching 😱 am struggling getting a nice loop shot though, not sure how to do it, using key frames it just flops over to the side, I’d like to see that improved… subscribed for more 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for watching. I am sorry to hear that you got bit when you were catching your drone. Tell me more about what you are using to make your loop shot? What program are you using to create your loop shot? The one I made in my video was done in Final Cut. But you can do it in premier, After Effects or other ways as well. I would be glad to help walk though how I created that shot if you would like. Thanks for watching and for subscribing.
@@BobbyInBlue it’s on the iPad app, I try to use a key frame but it’s not great, needs some work on it, scrolling left and right is much easier but looping is impossible
YT "hid" your channel from me until now. Glad I found it. This video was PACKED with info about the one toy I do not have (and I have the drone). But the one question I was waiting for an answer is : Do or can you use the app with the Sphere 360 prior to take off to adjust settings and start recording or are you restricted to blindly pushing buttons on the camera to start recording? Oh, I also do not recall if you said the battery was replaceable? Otherwise I'm sold. thanks.
I am glad you found it as well! I have had a blast with the sphere! It is a really neat tool. To answer your questions, yes you can connect to the sphere with the insta 360 app and you can adjust your settings before you fly away. I like to connect to the app and set my exposure and then start recording then fly away. Yes it has a battery that you can remove and replace. If you end up getting one, let me know what you think. It isn't a perfect camera but it does unlock some really neat possibilities and allows you to get some really cool shots. Headed over to check our your channel now, anyone with that many toys sounds like my kind of person. Thanks for watching!
I have been waiting on this type of technology for a couple of years now. And I am so glad that it is here. I too wish the resolution was higher and the SD card slot was easily accessible.
Me too! I have hoped they would make something like this! Maybe in the next generation we will get higher res and a better design. But for now I am really enjoying this thing. Thanks for watching and the comment!
I am not sure but here are a few things I’ve had success with. Clean the lens with a microfiber wipe. If you use the lens guards clean those and make sure there isn’t something between them. It could be some blur from the stitch line, if that’s the case fly your sphere further from the subject to allow the camera to stitch better. Tell me more if you’re still having trouble. Hope that helps.
Thanks for watching! Oh man, I love flying and 360 cameras. You help me learn more about 3D printing and I will help with the drone and 360 questions. Thanks so much Taylor!
Other than the drone becoming invisible drone is there an additional benefit to the sphere when compared to simply mounting an Insta360 One X2 to the bottom of the drone? I believe the One X2 is lighter than the sphere.
Just what you said. If you put the One X2 on your drone you are not able to move around the entire image because you would see the drone. With the sphere you get a full spherical image or video to move around in any direction. It is neat. :-) Thanks for watching and for the comment.
@@BobbyInBlue I got it and love it! Do you happen to know any tutorial videos on how to create the parallel worlds with the Sphere footage like the one in the Insta360 launch commercial for the Sphere? Alternatively do you know any tutorial videos for key framing 360 videos on After Effects?
I havent bought the Insta360 sphere due to people reporting gps issues. Otherwise i would like to have one. Hugh Hough also mentioned jitter in the footage when ascending (flying in a straight vertical line). For steady horizontal flights its ok. Stabilization sucks due to vibration.
It isn’t perfect and it has its issues. I’ve learned more since I made my video. There have been some great things I’ve learned that are good and other things I’ve learned that it has some issues. I hope they keep making improvements.
These are all true, even when flying without any noticeable wind. I haven'd had issues with Gps, I usually just lift it once I get an acceptable amount of satellites, only THEN I start flying normally.
Thanks for watching. I just tired it with no luck and confirmed with Insta360’s website that the USB-C port on the Sphere is “charge only”. So you’ll need to pull the card out to access the files. Hope that helps. 👍🏻
@@BobbyInBlue indeed, I personally get a bit scared when taking off with the insta since it vibrates like hell, so that's why I am looking to get the sphere.
@@deniss.6205 right! I tried it with 2, OneX2 cameras one on top and one on bottom and then did the stitching manually. Not ideal. Preferred the Sphere. LMK what you think when you get yours.
I got mine in the first batch. It's pretty cool I fly it on my air 2 and air 2s. All in all pretty happy definitely have a few issues with the GPS and sometimes I get alot of jello in the stitch line. I live in south Carolina and maybe the heat played a bit of that. It's pretty crazy what you can do if you have a air 2 or 2s I would definitely get one if you can afford it. The price is pretty steep, but I think it's worth it.
Tell me more about the GPS issues that you are having? I have noticed a little more since I made the video but overall it still feels manageable. The stick line requires a 10 meter distance so I have noticed a lot of jello in the stick line as well. The price of it all is rather steep but it is a very neat tool and you can get some great shots with it! Thank you for watching!
@@BobbyInBlue so if I put the camera right on then go out and power it up it takes a bit to get enough satellites to take off. It's very annoying, so I tried turning the drone on, going out and letting it acquire the satellites then putting on the camera. As soon as I put it on it drops satellites then I gotta wait again. Another instance was I flew up under one of our bridges here in SC it had all the satellites then it just lost all, and started to go into return to home under the bridge! It was a oh! Shit moment. Well I kept it ftom going up, but I have flown under this bridge before without the camera on and it didn't loose any satellites. So I think it's a little schetchy at times, but what the hell gonna fky it anyway.
@@mustanghuey89 I hadn’t tried something like that yet. That is wonderful to know. I have experience similar things on a smaller scale but haven’t had it loose GPS all the way yet. It is not a perfect solution but like many tools it still has some good use cases. That makes me worried though. I have also wanted to try the 360 FPV drone as well. Could be very neat. They designed it so you can buy extra batteries and swap them so you don't have to use it once then charge it. But they made the battery absolutely impossible to remove from the device. It pisses me off everytime I have to hunt for vice grips just to take a damn battery out 😡

At 2:41 you say the USB port is for charging and data transfer. The latter assertion is incorrect. Data transfer via USB is not possible.
