    Congratulation on your 24 year cardio streak Skipper! I have a 23 month run everyday streak going and your right it’s second to none, in regards to stress relief. Lifting and other forms of exercise are great but nothing induces the relaxation response like running.

    I still see the years of dedication to fitness as a positive despite a lot of the negative physical and mental effects that Skip mentioned in this video. However, I am coming from the standpoint of someone that does not naturally have this "discipline" (more envy). It sounds like the tendencies are understood and managed at least. But I really hope all is well, as this is extremely illuminating.

    I'm the same way. I always run faster outdoors for some reason than I do on the treadmill.

    I ride the bike every day instead to save my knees. I'm over 60 with gout and knees that cannot take the forces on the knee joints from running. I'm kinda amazed his knees are able to deal with that stress at his age, even with surgeries. I admit to being skeptical. Where are the videos? I do notice that when he runs on the treadmill, he is always holding on to the sidebars for support. Hmmm.

I know people who kill themselves for 60 plus hours a week doing dangerous, thankless jobs that actually keep this place running. So hearing somebody say that talking for two hours a day is physically draining and wears you out is laughable. Most people who talk for a living are the first to say this. You don’t know me and you don’t know what my work ethic is like.

    Too much of anything isn't good, same for exercise. You need to give your body time to rest and recuperate. What is being described here is obsessive behaviour and is simply unhealthy.

    ok, so 3 meniscus surgeries and you still didn't miss a day ?? how ? I had one of those, you can't walk for 2 weeks at all, not even bike. So while a lot of his fitness story might be true, I guess we can qualify the overall video as a classic Skip troll.

    I feel so bad for Skip. He’s proud that he thinks LBJ can’t keep up with him in an 8 mile race. But he fails to realize if LBJ WANTED to be that kind of athlete, he could! But he doesn’t think about competing vs a 70 year old writer who runs as a hobby. Skip, what?

      @@deykno87 if he trained for it, with full intention of being a runner, I’m sure he could. I’ve seen wrestlers become UFC Champions and basketball players become Mr. Olympia’s. Super athletes such as LBJ shouldn’t be underestimated. Especially if they were motivated enough to put their mind to competing against a regular human such as 70 year old Skip Edward Patrick Bayless the 3rd. Give LBJ a training schedule, diet plan, and trainer. I bet in less than a few years, he’s looking like an Ethiopian marathon Olympian with tattoos. But he ain’t thinking about Skip. And it’s sad Skip is thinking about him. Sad.

    I’ve been running 10+ miles on the treadmill. I just started a couple of days ago. I can usually run it in under 20 minutes and not be out of breath. Which for me is great because before I couldn’t get close to that.

    I run 6 miles in an hour every day on the treadmill with no problem. You're out of shape if running over 6 miles in an hour is killing you.

    Skip's at the age where he has to be very cautious about over training. Exercise is great for the heart, but there's a tipping point where you can cause arrhythmias.

    Running a sub 3 hour marathon is simply amazing! so for Skip to do it knowing that he's not an athlete is simply fascinating!
