@@annietmood There are mostly two obstacles. Instant decisions that lock you out from the best ending like the score. And there are people whom you can only save within a certain time frame during a specific part of the story. Missing those would also lock you out irreversibly.
@@DfactorLongplays I came across one time frame one that I can remember specifically was a time frame one, which is the boy hiding in the locker, but at least you could get him at any point provided you're just there between certain hours. And aside from the musical score thing, I believe you also absolutely need at least one candle to find a hide-and-seek child.
I have played the 1° Echo Night and it is great, creepy and eerie atmosphere, but this looks and feels even better, gonna give it a try, the atmosphere and ambience is really top notch, and this one looks more linear, which fits my taste better
It can take some time for it to arrive. Try checking the door, paper, anything that can be checked again. I had a similar issue where it would take way too long for it to arrive.
That means you can't get the best ending. This game punishes for not finding them in time / not having at least one spare candle and there's no way to correct it.

It's not a new concept. On paper when you see your family and friends die or just outlive them the loneliness gets to you, especially if you don't have a raison d'être and are mentally exhausted of living then you'll eventually start wishing you were dead. I don't remember the details about the story as good anymore (it's been a year), but if Jessica was granted immortality by the red stone in the Ominous ending then she'll have similar fate.

After giving the pepper to the chef i am able to go to the courtyard west door. I finished all works there and get a horse head hook. But i didn't get astral piece mark and his girlfriend. There are no way without restarting the game to get it?
As soon as you hand over the score to her boyfriend you can't get her astral piece. It's up to you if you want to restart, this game has multiple endings too.

Your actions in this game are permanent and you cannot reverse such decisions. You either continue playing or you regret the decision reload a previous save or if you don't have one, then restart the game. If you know what you're doing you'll catch up in 20 minutes or so.

I haven't found any candles in my game using a Walkthrough from FAQ and the places it says there are candles there are none since the walkthrough didn't mention the children to talk to I'm stuck and have to start over where are the candles by chance? One said Cigar lounge and the Husband's Office But I looked at both places no candles.
I believe there are certain conditions in spawning a candle, it might be NG+ or your current candle usage, I never bothered to check and I believe that guide never specified the conditions, making it misleading. I don't recall the locations from top of my head, but you don't get more than 1 disposable candle, as others have a specific use in achieving 100%.

Oh, I'm aware. At the time of making this the only viable pick for that would be PCSXR, but it has inherent issues with rendering graphics like transparencies, making them much lighter than they should be. So I didn't. Beetle PSX HW was in its infancy and didn't have PGXP. DuckStation didn't exist back then.
@@DfactorLongplays Oh yeah, I've figured that this was the reason, but my post was aimed at people who are not aware about PS1 state of emulation and especially about those impressive results on DuckStation. Is't it great that we can, for example, finally play Vargant Story and Silent Hill 1 without wobbling in 2021? IMO It never gets old to see PS1 graphics looking almost like PC graphics from 90s. Also, Echo Night 2 is a rare example of PS1 visuals which pushes rather impressive amount of polygons on the screen while still preserving decent texture resolution without huge frame drops, so it's a shame that there is no longplay of this game with a stable looking graphics here on TH-cam. Or maybe it's there somewhere, but I have't fond one yet lol.
@@dastanbastan9621 I'm pretty sure even latest versions of emulators have problems with Silent Hill. There's a handful of scenes in the game that corrupt RAM due to going over the limit, like the scene in the church. Or can that be mitigated by switching to devkit mode?
@@DfactorLongplays Yeah I ended up finding it out that the boy sleeps from 9pm to 4:30am. The only GameFAQ walkthrough that I looked at got it reverse by thinking it was 9am to 4:30pm.

Why do so many games like this all use a musical portion that requires you to not only be able to read and write music... but not be tone death but also know the tones? How the fork is anyone supposed to figure this out normally?! Always angers me as I want to solve all puzzles without help.
Whoever wrote that old walkthrough probably got all the secrets in proper order, and when writing, put off all the side quests to the end and mistakenly put the boy together with the rest.

There are multiple ways of dealing with a situation. You can either deal with it and take the pepper or restart the game since it's so early in.

You can only get either Normal or Ominous endings at this point. For the Best ending you'd need to replay the game.

because it's never there. The cabinet is usually empty, at least during first playthrough.

That would be waiting until he falls asleep. There's in-game time of day, so I think it was after 22.

I recall one of the lower tier bracelets prevented you from being cursed. That being if a ghost hits you, there's a chance your vision will go dark.
