The fact that Kit Connor was forced to come out really makes the story line of his character struggle to feel completely ready to be out hurt a lot. It underlines how people robbed Kit Connor of his moment.
I agree, he was robbed of choosing when he was comfortable coming out. He didn't deserve that, let alone those "fans" attacking him for queerbaiting without even considering that he might actually be bi, himself.

As a massive fan of the graphic novels, this looks perfect to me. The show runners and actors get the characters and the tone perfectly. Gentle but realistic.
I'll say this... There are two huge differences between heart stoppers and Love, Viktor. Authenticity and Representation in front of and behind the cameras. You can't manufacture it, no matter how good of a writer or an actor you are.
"Love, Victor" was ruined by the showrunners, they pivoted the show to be a teen drama about straight couples and Victor became a side character in his own series.🙄
Watched this with my friend to support him and season 1 was so sweet, adorable and felt really authentic. So glad it got a big following and cant wait for the new season!
Joe Locke is outstanding. The fact that he was so good in his first significant role shows how talented he really is. I 100% stan Joe Locke. I couldn’t care less about comic characters and have no idea who Wiccan is but Joe will crush it I am sure.

I recently rewatched S1. Such a joy to watch. Love Charlie and Nick and all the cast. Like you said Grace, 30minute episodes are delicious to binge for. Been watching Netflix recently and on my second show. Well of this week. I plan on watching at least half of Netflix.

I'm beyond thrilled to see you covering Heartstopper! This show surprised me last year as well and I've been hooked, rewatching it several times and showing it to as many as possible. The lgbt representation is the most authentic I've seen, and season one captured perfectly what it is like to discover yourself. I felt like I was reliving my youth. I was also a Love, Victor fan, but that show really fizzled out in the last season falling into alot of typically teen drama tropes - where this show did not. August 3rd cannot be here soon enough!
Heartstopper is such a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community (and has representation for soooo many different identities), and it makes me so happy that it's doing so well. I love this show (and the comics) so much and I can't wait for season 2!!
