See it this way: without disney we probably never would have gotten any other star wars content that doesn’t say The sequals are good but shows like The mandalorian are great
+WASD Well, not much talk about it was going on considering that all of the Jedi were killed off by Anakin Skywalker in his turning to become Vader, leaving only Obi-Wan and Yoda alive, then to later train Luke to become a Jedi, in which he is then the last remaining.
+WASD How on Earth did the whole galaxy know about it? No-one knew how the Emperor was defeated, only Luke, us the viewers, and Han and Leia plus some more. All they knew was that the Rebellion won. Even in the clone wars there are planets that know absolutely nothing about the Jedi and some villages and towns and what not were introduced to them from the wars alone. And this was when the Jedi were at their peak and everyone should know about them. Aside from that, History is written by the Victors. The Empire won and was in power for over 20 years. More than enough time, within the span of an entire galaxy, to shape mainstream history to whatever they saw fit. And, as we see, they are still not unknown. Despite all this tempering with history and the know remaining to a small few, legends of what happened still exist. Having not seen any Jedi for over 30 years, I doubt the mainstream minds would believe in all that sorcery. Take a look at today, people don't believe in legends either unless they see them. Add to this, that Han Solo in the first films established the state of mind that existed (that Jedi are not real) having met nothing of the sort in all his journeys, it is easy to assume that 30 years later this notion would be multiplied. So, if there was anything done wrong, it was in the initial classic trilogy that did not explain how all that history of the Jedi was wiped out to begin with. SW7 played off that trajectory perfectly. Best continuation to the franchise ever.
Goddamn..... the part at 1:27 that builds until 1:55..... the aching sense of longing and dreams unfulfilled and the fear they might never come to pass.....it just stretches your soul until it cracks. Thats some serious shit.
+shawz10 And remember that when this movie was released in 1977, it was the first time we'd ever seen anything so awesome and immersive on the big screen, certainly in this genre. Episode 7: Jar Jar Binks joins the Dark Side and becomes a Sith Lord. "Oh, me'sa fraid de bombad flector shield is quite operational when you'sa friends arrives.Oopsa!"
lol, wouldn't he be dead by E7? :P I mean, New Hope is how many years after Revenge of the Sith? 20? Now Luke is old and I am hoping/guessing its about a new generation of characters, so, perhaps 20 years again? 40+ years after Episode 3? Surely at 70+ (perhaps) someone killed him from being too annoyed... Or no-one ever got to it as it would be most likely that he died off from his own stupidity and clumsiness long before he even saw 40. lol. Its a question how he survived till the end of Ep 3.
HAHAHAHAhahahahaha... oh dear... I've wondered why the people made a doofus like him a Senator. Probably a ploy from the evil Chancellor Palpatine. After all, he was the one to give the chancellor the first emergency powers...

This masterpiece gives me chills My brother is not even a Star Wars fan but when he heard this, he said it's one of the best music he have heard in his life, and probably the greatest
Matt Roper I don't want to see too many throw backs in episode VII for nostalgia but if that's one of them then that would be great - and just subtle enough to not be bashing audiences over the head with it.
Matt Roper *cries tears of absolute fucking joy at the new Star Wars Teaser* Oooohh....it's back......so.......so beyond our feeble words....beyond our perceptions of beautiful......
Today I got my Force Awakens tickets for the premier and, suddenly, I got hyped like never before! Hence, I've been listening to this the whole day. December can't get here soon enough!
what i wanna see in The Force Awakens is whenever we meet Luke for the first time he will be in shadow or something and everyone is like "who are you?" then he lowers his hood with 0:47 playing....i would cry
When Star Wars premiered in 1977 I was less than a year old. I can remember that - as a small kid - I saw the Kenner toys in the shops but I was not old enough to understand them. My first contact was in a kid's book about human space exploration which shows on its last page a still from Star Wars showing a X-Wing pursued by a TIE-Fighter with the Death Star in the background. This picture was commented like "in films like Star Wars mankind travels between the stars easily, however in reality this will happen - if ever - in a very distant future". From this moment on I wanted to see this marvelous film. In the 80s I saw the trilogy on VHS, but it took until 1997 to see them on the silver screen (the Special Edition). I envy a little bit all of those folks who were old enough to see it in 1977 - and I want to share their awe!
haha, you tell me man. I mean even if you hate SW, still, would you go out of your way to dislike a SW song? lol. And a John Williams classic like this? Double lol. Beats me xD
And this is why I love Star Wars. Not just for its themes and adventures but also for its great taste in music. This music truly makes you feel like your in for a adventure and far beyond things you ever face before. May the force be with us all!
My favorite SW track. It expresses so much while being so simple. I love that this is the track playing in some of the most important and iconic moments in the originals: Binary Sunset, Ben's death, Yoda explaining the Force, Yoda's death, Luke telling Leia she's his sister, Darth Vader 's redemption, and Vader 's cremation.
this is more than a soundtrack, it is hope... hope in a better future. remember luke watching that double sunset, so emotional and so nostalgic. just feels like there is something big coming...
This makes me feel the moments in star wars history, Revan returning to the light. The exile finally defeating the sith. Luke and Leia being born. Anakins redemption.
David Kelly I still like the Revanites and he had a good plan. Stupid Republic and Empire keep turning against him they should be ashamed. Especially the republic.
Lord Angmar ehh well what i got out of it is that he wanted to draw the emperor out in a physical form that could be killed. Or am i mistaken? I don't know for sure so don't hold it against me to badly.
"Every year, I watch the sunset on May 14th with this playing. And every year it reminds me of when I first heard this piece in the theater with my Dad on May 14th, 1977" -darthridick77 Keeping that comment alive! original repost by VentriloOverlord
This song always reminds me of being a kid and playing Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Specifically the training level in the Yavin 4 temples. That stuff is the real Star Wars to me, besides the original movies.
I have came here to listen while deeply saddened with the force awakens. long live what is now known as legends. remember Jaina, jacen and aniken solo...
I just heard 0:32 to 1:00 while playing SWBF3 a few seconds ago...I seriously just straightened up and let my eargasm roll through me XD I even nearly put my hand on my heart like it was an anthem.
I hope that someone plays this theme one day in the distant future when we humans have become a star faring civilization, looking back to a time when humanity looked toward the stars in amazement and recounted legendary stories from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
This is the best music from any movie I've ever seen. Even though Star Wars original trilogy was made kind of long time ago, it still lives, and i think that it's pure legend. It's so legendary that they even continue the saga! #SW4ever #SWislegend #SWepisodeVII
Beautiful. Sitting on motorcycle, on a dirt road, in high ground. Crisp autumn night. Watching the sun set on one horizon as moon comes up on the other. Beautiful.
When I was a kid, my grandfather got me so interested in Star Wars and since then I loved it. My grandfather passed away on his birthday in 2001 and everytime I listen to this song, I cry alot because I miss him so much and loved him.
This describes every person who looks at the sunset and thinks about the number one question on their mind. So the next time you look at the sunset it’s not about how beautiful it looks it’s what you need it to be.
There is no emotion, there is *peace* There is no ignorance, there is *knowledge* There is no passion, there is *serenity* There is no chaos, there is *harmony* There is no death, there is the *force*
HiZzen RekT I have, but i watched them too late, I already knew what was coming in the episodes. Thats why "the force awakens" was so fucking good! cuz i didn't know how it was gonna end
2:28 This part reminds me of the Original Trilogy Obi Wan, a mysterious old man who seemed to make a connection with Luke and knows more than he's letting on.
Jimmy Dark I honestly don't remember it. I played that game something like 4 months total but don't remember the soundtrack as much for some reason. It was SWarsy cool, but I did at points end up simply putting this song on again over the in-game music when playing :P Especially whenever I went to Tattooine. Oh.... The feels...
1:42 "Therefore, let this be an official declaration of rebellion! Today, we all vow to change the galaxy, and one day the galaxy will indeed be free! -Senator Bale Organa, the Corellian Treaty of 2 BBY
At ease Jedi. Six days ago we lost a brave Padawan He was lost not on the front lines, but betrayed by his own body A loss felt by us all *Ignites lightsaber* May the Force Be With You
1:43 I imagine this part playing while I’m in a sunset mood place watching the sunrise or sunset while with the love of my life as her head rests on my chest. ❤️☀️
Back in the day of just the only movie. Nothing else. No other novels. No other comics. No other video games. No other movies. I wish I could go back to that time, when the Star Wars galaxy was still a mystery to me, when it was a much bigger place.
John Williams tops all movie composers with this particular part. This is the most impressive piece of movie music art ever created by mankind. He is going to top the next Star Wars Trilogy again with his brilliance. Long live Star Wars! Long live John Williams! And May The Force Be With You!!
God , if you guys think Jar Jar is annoying, more or less the same can be said about C3P0... Just because you guys can't stand goophieness it doesn't mean it sucks...
Beaver Nation Matter of taste, I suppose, still , I can't understand how C3P0 isn't more annoying to you since it appears in the whole saga. Jar Jar appears very little during Episode 2 and 3.
Star Wars The Force Awakens Is going to be such a good movie! I have a lot of faith in J.J Abrams, not only is he going to make this movie like the orginals but he's going to make also different and unique! He will do a spectacular job with it and for all of you who think it might me just as bad as the prequels it won't be, have faith in the force and in J.J Abrams. May The Force Be With You All!
Bigems Bricks I kinda enjoyed Attack of the Clones and some parts of Phantom Menace. Attack of the Clones had the battle of Geonosis, and the droid factory bit, which I quite liked. And Phantom Menace had Darth Maul, which is cool.
Do i really have to explain why do i love Star Wars ? .Everything related to it is something i love .The movies were so perfect ( Not actually but you know what i mean ) , every moment feels so magical .They made every shot , every angle , every acting and last but not least , every action scene and the soundtrack of Johnathan Williams . We should also talk about the other things that make Star Wars ( This universe would not be the same with out them ) : The Forcce Unleashed , the Lego games , Battlefront , the TV shows ( All of them after 2001 ) and the books and comics . Star Wars is ... part of my life .I would not be the same with out Star Wars .Thank you , George , Thank you .
+Nyx Nah, it was pra-premiere I think or maybe your part of Europe get's it earlier. I saw it yesterday on 18th and It was premiere and yep, I am from EU
Star Wars isn't just a movie, it's a masterpiece, every single moment of it :) Just like Beethoven's music has been remembered through the ages, Star Wars will also be remembered for being one of the, or even the best movie series that ever came out.
+Will Donahue You just did ^_^ From 0:00 to 1:00 it is Binary Sunset. From about 2:00 to 3:03 is again, Binary Sunset. So if you pop in Binary Sunset you will hear that in one piece from start to finish. Now, 1:00 to 2:00 is a piece from Light of the Force. So searching for "John Williams Light of the Force" should get you that piece with all the other parts to it. This was an edit for the Yavin map on the Jedi Knights games, it wasn't in any of the films.
Oscar M lol, what? XD You are talking about the force theme? That is scattered in every single SW product ever. They are not tracks, this here was not in any film. The force theme itself is in varying versions and small pieces all over SW films games and everything else. Even Knights of the Old Republic had a 10 second or something version every time you got Light Side points. Its simply the Force Theme at this point although it was intended just as Lukes theme. Lastly, score in a film is different to a soundtrack. These films (SW) are in the category where their score leans over much more to a soundtrack. Almost the entirety of their scores are different pieces composed together into a complete symphony. They would at that point evidently share many similar themes, they are still telling the same story. And there are moments in them (the films) that are leaning back to score, which is simply using different themes already created for scenes or bits and pieces where need be.

a lot of goosebumps listening to this, it's wonderful
+Gabriel Bustos + 1
this is more than a soundtrack, it is hope... hope in a better future.
remember luke watching that double sunset, so emotional and so nostalgic.
just feels like there is something big coming...
This song is so beautiful, John williams thank you, have in mind Harry potter, Star Wars ,Superman and so mant others!
This makes me feel the moments in star wars history, Revan returning to the light. The exile finally defeating the sith. Luke and Leia being born. Anakins redemption.
Ahhhhhhh SW overload
All Hail Chael He went Dark Side in the end. I actually liked the Revanites at 1st.
David Kelly
I still like the Revanites and he had a good plan. Stupid Republic and Empire keep turning against him they should be ashamed. Especially the republic.
***** Yes, Revan's grand plan for galactic suicide should have been let continue...
Lord Angmar
ehh well what i got out of it is that he wanted to draw the emperor out in a physical form that could be killed. Or am i mistaken? I don't know for sure so don't hold it against me to badly.
"Every year, I watch the sunset on May 14th with this playing. And every year it reminds me of when I first heard this piece in the theater with my Dad on May 14th, 1977"
-darthridick77
Keeping that comment alive!
original repost by VentriloOverlord
This song always reminds me of being a kid and playing Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Specifically the training level in the Yavin 4 temples. That stuff is the real Star Wars to me, besides the original movies.
The 52 dislikes are Stormtroopers, they missed the like button.
(Ok, sorry for this "good" joke)
@nathan vlogging and gaming dude, i literally made this comment 4 years ago
They actually just hit your comment
Cool joke
I have came here to listen while deeply saddened with the force awakens. long live what is now known as legends. remember Jaina, jacen and aniken solo...
I just heard 0:32 to 1:00 while playing SWBF3 a few seconds ago...I seriously just straightened up and let my eargasm roll through me XD I even nearly put my hand on my heart like it was an anthem.
+S'chn T'gai Spock hah. i played it too. its quite good.
can you explain how your eargasm feels. is it sloppy, numb or just fell of from your head after hearing that song.
+THE NEW EMPIRE They're just a massive bandwagon of hate for it, but I love the look and feel...
+Darth Spock (Mirror Kirk's T'hy'la) I left the lobby just because it started playing. Brings tears to my eyes! :)
This and Across the Stars make me cryyyyy :')
I hope that someone plays this theme one day in the distant future when we humans have become a star faring civilization, looking back to a time when humanity looked toward the stars in amazement and recounted legendary stories from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
I hope so too. May we do our best to preserve this music until the day comes
This is the best music from any movie I've ever seen.
Even though Star Wars original trilogy was made kind of long time ago, it still lives, and i think that it's pure legend.
It's so legendary that they even continue the saga!

Beautiful. Sitting on motorcycle, on a dirt road, in high ground. Crisp autumn night. Watching the sun set on one horizon as moon comes up on the other. Beautiful.
HAPPY 40TH TODAY, STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!! I've been with you since the beginning and wouldn't be the same person I am today without you. :)
Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and Halo have the best soundtracks I've ever heard.
+Philippe Legend of Zelda too
+John Hackett and Megaman
Final fantasy
Kingdom Hearts
+Philippe are you me??????
Is this a good funeral song? I'm interested in this, I know it's nerdy, but I want to express how much a part of my life Star Wars was.
Well sunset is a good metaphor for death. I'd say go for it! :)
Indeed it is perfect, i plan on having this at my funeral too, regardless of what people say, it is very fitting to saying goodbye and VERY sombre.
My great aunt Cookie was the one who introduced me to Star Wars as a young kid. When she died I had this played at her funeral.
Not nerdy just factual
skully yes
Star Wars...the greatest story ever told.
When I was a kid, my grandfather got me so interested in Star Wars and since then I loved it. My grandfather passed away on his birthday in 2001 and everytime I listen to this song, I cry alot because I miss him so much and loved him.
The wallpaper of this music is everything you need to know about Star Wars. Forget anything else and may the force be with you, always.
I lost it when this plays in the force awakens
That is now my favourite ever StarWars scene it couldnt have been done any better the music, location and characters perfect
+Sam Scholes if Luke was gazing into the sunset that's the only thing that could of made it better
+DATA Imagine it happening at the end of episode 9. Him, obi wan, yoda and his father all standing there, staring off into the sunset
Before I die I want someone to take me to the closest mountain so I can watch the sun set while listening to this
This one and the Throne Room Song... not much to say beside the fact that those two masterpieces are freaking epic
In my opinion, the most beautiful and stunning piece of film score ever written. A true masterpiece, Williams is a genius.
This describes every person who looks at the sunset and thinks about the number one question on their mind. So the next time you look at the sunset it’s not about how beautiful it looks it’s what you need it to be.
Epic, this one of my favorites if not my favorite!
Goosebumps

May the force be with you.
I remember hearing this in The force awakens and tearing up because it was so beautiful and I was so happy to ear it once again in a Star Wars film.
There is no emotion, there is *peace*
There is no ignorance, there is *knowledge*
There is no passion, there is *serenity*
There is no chaos, there is *harmony*
There is no death, there is the *force*
Star Wars III final scene was just the best movie ending ever made
ASH agreed
Saw Episode VII today, LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! goosebumps when I heard this theme though and maybe a tear in my eye :D
This didnt age well.
The force awakens was just, wow. I was never a starwars fan as a kid. But this made me turn!
Your path to the darkside is now complete you shall be known as darth shaft power
I thank you, Emperor Scholes
bruh. HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN THE ORIGINALS?!
HiZzen RekT I have, but i watched them too late, I already knew what was coming in the episodes. Thats why "the force awakens" was so fucking good! cuz i didn't know how it was gonna end
Just came back from "the last jedi" and refference scene to binary sunset made me cry.
May the force be with you... always
This is probably my favourite Star Wars song. Gives me chills and the feels every single time I hear it.
2:28 This part reminds me of the Original Trilogy Obi Wan, a mysterious old man who seemed to make a connection with Luke and knows more than he's letting on.
I really like what they did with this song in Star Wars The old Republic.
Jimmy Dark I honestly don't remember it. I played that game something like 4 months total but don't remember the soundtrack as much for some reason. It was SWarsy cool, but I did at points end up simply putting this song on again over the in-game music when playing :P
Especially whenever I went to Tattooine.
Oh.... The feels...
1:42 "Therefore, let this be an official declaration of rebellion! Today, we all vow to change the galaxy, and one day the galaxy will indeed be free! -Senator Bale Organa, the Corellian Treaty of 2 BBY
At ease Jedi.
Six days ago we lost a brave Padawan
He was lost not on the front lines, but betrayed by his own body
A loss felt by us all
*Ignites lightsaber*
May the Force Be With You
“I am a Jedi like my father before me” BEST LINE
The Mandalorian brought me back! :)
1:43 I imagine this part playing while I’m in a sunset mood place watching the sunrise or sunset while with the love of my life as her head rests on my chest. ❤️☀️
Honestly same
Seeing Venus and Jupiter today... so beautiful! (06/30/15).
My favorite Star Wars soundtrack. My favorite soundtrack overall. It always give me tears, and it always makes me happy.
I've been searching this song's name for years, I've found it, now I heard it. After that search, I listen to this peacefully, like a journey's end...
I may have not used the right :Your"
Why everyone gotta be quoting the sequels , remember who we are , far from the Jedi path have we all strayed
Back in the day of just the only movie. Nothing else. No other novels. No other comics. No other video games. No other movies.
I wish I could go back to that time, when the Star Wars galaxy was still a mystery to me, when it was a much bigger place.
Thanks, Jontron from hercules.....you brought me here
I wish I forgot about star wars
Just to rewatch it again and again and agagagagain
John Williams tops all movie composers with this particular part. This is the most impressive piece of movie music art ever created by mankind. He is going to top the next Star Wars Trilogy again with his brilliance. Long live Star Wars! Long live John Williams! And May The Force Be With You!!
They better play this in Star Wars episode 7. Also we need a scene where jar jar dies. And the senate building explodes. Lol
God , if you guys think Jar Jar is annoying, more or less the same can be said about C3P0... Just because you guys can't stand goophieness it doesn't mean it sucks...
Tonypikmin Really. C3PO had character. He could relate to some.of the audience. Star Wars prequels took a big shit on my childhood.
Beaver Nation Matter of taste, I suppose, still , I can't understand how C3P0 isn't more annoying to you since it appears in the whole saga. Jar Jar appears very little during Episode 2 and 3.
Tonypikmin Yeah well they have a balance on characters. And jar jar was way to much
I say only use it once for the whole trilogy. So I wouldn't mind if they didn't play it in 7. If that means they played it once in 8 or 9.
Thank you John Williams, this slow orgasm in my ears is just perfect.
The prequels weren't that bad were they? God I haven't watched star wars in a long time...
+SenLovesTurtles Attack of the clones is terrible and phantom menace is horrible but I personally really enjoyed Revenge of the sith!
+SenLovesTurtles Attack of the clones is terrible and phantom menace is horrible but I personally really enjoyed Revenge of the sith!
Bigems Bricks I kinda enjoyed Attack of the Clones and some parts of Phantom Menace. Attack of the Clones had the battle of Geonosis, and the droid factory bit, which I quite liked. And Phantom Menace had Darth Maul, which is cool.
+SenLovesTurtles Agreed!
After almost 37 years it still gives the same feeling
Just saw Star Wars The Force Awakens. All i can say is go and see it!
+Nyx lol stfuuu its the 16th
+PautlerSport some theaters are showing it early or some people may have connecions, ya dig?
+PautlerSport I saw it yesterday. 12.16. In Europe it's the 16th. 18th everywhere else i think.
Its fucking awsome
+Nyx Nah, it was pra-premiere I think or maybe your part of Europe get's it earlier. I saw it yesterday on 18th and It was premiere and yep, I am from EU
Am i the only one who loves the prequals!?
Yes 😂😂🖕🏻
+Burt Maclin who uses emojis outside of instagram Twitter and facebook what the fuck
+NorthPlayyyer i do :P
+Abso Geometry Dash yeah it looks like the fights are just people dancing
+dancingbutts The cool one Who dosent?😏
If the trailer for Episode VII doesn't open with 0:25 JJ Abrams will have failed us all.
Guess he failed you...
*****
Unfortunately so, but it can be forgiven for the badass X-wing scene.
👍
That wasn't the actual trailer. That was only a teaser. We still have hope.
***** exactly but if he doesn´t use it in the trailer than he deserves nothing more than death.
Star Wars isn't just a movie, it's a masterpiece, every single moment of it :)
Just like Beethoven's music has been remembered through the ages, Star Wars will also be remembered for being one of the, or even the best movie series that ever came out.
12.28.19 still here. the true saga lives on. thank you George.
What track is 0:48 from? It sounds great and I want to be able to hear the whole thing.
+Will Donahue
You just did ^_^
From 0:00 to 1:00 it is Binary Sunset.
Thanks!
+DCF - HazardReborn It actually was just as really low background music. It was scattered every where in the force awakens.
Oscar M
lol, what? XD
You are talking about the force theme?
Thank you Hazard :) loved Jedi Knight for this
I have to cry everytime I hear it because STAR WARS is over now.... :‘(
Don't worry. It is just a matter of time that the saga will continue. 300% sure
mourn them do not. miss them do not
This is why star wars is better than marvel and dc.
Fax
we don't talk about the sequels
@teoborges3949 tbh that's the same for marvel movies as well. New ones just suck
I agree
Was it ever a question? 😉
whenever i heard this i want to cry it's amazing
I listen to this song everytime I wake up at dawn..it is just soooo perfect for that time in the morning.
RIP Luke Skywalker 19 BBY - 34 ABY
