Most you tube tutorials are loud and fast. But yours are very refreshing, like i have a private teacher or friend showing me how to do it. Thanks!😊
That's great to hear Mel! 🙌🏼
Please more of houses and urban sketching! I just tried this one and loved it! Your style just gives me so much fun 🙂 and I love your choice of colors too! Greetings Renate
Thanks! After I finish my Portrait miniseries, I am planning to do some more buildings 👍🏼
Hi Scottie, I would like to try the van next but also more urban sketching. It is interesting how you simplify a photo because all the tiny details overwhelm me when I begin a sketch. I need to learn more about the vanishing point. But I like how you did the silhouette of the whole building first. And the people! Thank you for making sketching so approachable!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll make sure I explain vanishing points in more detail next time👍🏼

Yes! I love cats but I'd really love to try the van.
Absolutely addicted to your videos and style, got myself a little sketchbook and pen too and have been giving it a go. Thanks for the videos :)
that's awesome Mark! Hope you have fun experimenting🙌🏼
Would prefer more buildings, urban settings, or even landscape
Hi scottie, would love to see more urban sketching videos and among the chocies, van would be my choice😊
Thanks for that Nilima! One more point to the van 😁
Nice! Your street scene projects are my personal favorites, even though I enjoy all of your videos.
thanks Daniel👍🏼
Hi Scottie....Love your style....Especially the buildings....Thanks for sharing your talent.
Cool. Literally! Understand the use of your cool colours for shadows. Thanks
Awesome Scottie!! Great job!!! I would like more buildings, homes, but I am open to anything !! Love your technique and coloring !! Thank you so much !!!

Love your videos. I get compliments every time someone see a painting I've done with you. I'm voting for the van for the next one. Thanks so much.
Thanks so much Mary! That's very encouraging to hear👍🏼😊
Very good job scottie!!!!!!!
Awesome sketch Scottie thank you so much for sharing👌✏️
thanks for watching Elly!
Thank you so much, just the video I was looking for - a very nice loose style. I would love to see more about buildings and maybe some interesting landscapes?
love your tutorial Scottie. Hope to see the boot
Awesome!
Great tutorial thanks
Do the cat driving the van!!
😂 that could actually be a good idea! haha
I would like a boat please!😊
hi Scottie, can you do some night time sketches?
thanks in advance.

This is great!
Hi Scottie, would love to see you sketch the van please, Im really enjoying and learning lots from watching you sketch. Thank you 🥰xxx
thanks for the feedback Tracy! Glad you are getting lots out of the tutorials🤗
Thanks for this great tutorial, Scottie. If the voting's still open, I'd love to see a cat - and more urban sketching.
Ooh do a van!
I would love to do the van!
Love your style of sketching. I am really trying to sketch looser. I tend to start being very fussy. I just want to get looser. 👍and thank you for showing me how. 😂
Love the sketch, I do way too much detail in mine, I like your way of sketching. My figures are miles better after watching your videos. So I hope I can do the same with the buildings. The camper van for me please. 👍
That's so good to hear Toni! Camper van is very popular🙌🏼
Great tutorial, I vote for the van next 👍🏻
Enjoyed this, van would be great, I’m not so good at vehicles!
thanks Wendy! 👍🏼
You make it look easy. 😊 I am trying this. Love the urban sketching. A cat would be fun!
Great that you are trying this! all the best🙌🏼
Starting with an outline is a different way to begin a drawing. I still need a rough pencil but it's good to be aware of the shape and vanishing lines.
Amazing work mate. I hope I can be like you someday. can you consider doing other vehicle too? like a bike?
good suggestion!
Great tutorial! I would love to see you sketch the VW van.
Thanks! 👍🏼
Loved this- fun and makes me feel like trying....a cat would be my pick :)
Van please! And thank you. You're a great teacher. 👍
Thanks a lot Linda🤗
Love buildings
Hey 👋 great tutorial. It would be great to see more of those cool looking buiding tutorial sketches - Cheers
Thanks, will do!
Danke!
Thanks so much for the support AnJa!🤗
A cat, please!
No
Cool! Love it!
Waiting for a cat sketch 😅!
Just discovered you on youtube. Love your tutorials and your loose style. Can I vote for the cat AND the van?!
😂 yes you can! Someone else suggested a cat driving a van haha. Thanks for watching Suzanne👍🏼
I dunno, with this cut-out cookie approach, I always draws myself into a corner. Like your car tutorials, I like to start with relative sized shapes in perspective.
A campervan would be great!
More urban sketches please Scottie. I'd prefer the van to the cat..
Will do Stella! Van is on the way😉
Do the cat! Do the cat!!
Eu tento desenhar com o maior cuidado e vira uma desgraça, o cara rabisca e fica sensacional!
What did you say that pallette was? I would love the same one as it has all the compartments
This is a Kuretake watercolor set: amzn.to/42uYGtq
I just swapped the watercolors. Yea it's really nice having so many compartments!
Van!
Tiger please Scottie.
ooo good idea, I'll have to do some wild animals too!

Hello, I would like to know why you can use the ink pen first and then the watercolor without making a mess mixing both. When I do it the ink and the watercolor mixes together :(
the Uniball pens I use have waterproof ink 😊
Great video Scottie!
I'm a fence sitter.....either van or cat for me :)
Now a question:
Why the use of splatter on watercolours. I'm not just asking why you used on this, BUT rather, why people splash colours over their paintings? I've seen it done quite a bit but cannot understand the purpose!
Thanks Kris! Good question, In some ways it’s to add an interesting texture to the painting. I use it to bring movement and energy too. Adding a darker splatter color over and lighter area of color can also add a subtle gradient which also implies the direction of light shining on the surface of the building or object. Hope that makes sense! It’s a personal preference for me.👍🏼
@@SketchingScottie Thanks Scottie! Appreciated.
Van
This drawing silhouette first is bit difficult for beginners I think. I would rather prefer put dots along the corners and start joining...maybe. I'm not expert but as beginner in sketching it's bit daunting for me to go with silhouette.
thanks for the suggestion! Yes I could have added that step with dots actually and explain the vanishing points. Something I'll have to remember for next time!
Excellent job! SUBSCRIBE/LIKE/SHARE/COMMENT/THX.
Van next

Cat please. But everything you do is fun.
