- Welcome To Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Florida. If you’re looking for an amazing beach experience on your next Destin vacation, Henderson Beach State Park is for you.
Enjoy a majestic shoreline surrounded by snow-white sand dunes and emerald green waters. And the park is not only for sunbathing at the beach or swimming in the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There are also 60 campsites connected to the beach by a nature trail and boardwalk and large pavilions for having an event or picnic.
This beach area has only been a state park since 1991, but millions of locals and visitors have made it there go-to destination when visiting Destin, Florida.
EXPERIENCES
-Fishing for popular surf species including pompano, flounder, and redfish.
-Camping with full amenities including water, electricity, picnic tables, fire and grill rings, and shower/laundry houses.
-Hiking on the 3/4 mile long nature trail.
-Picnicking in one of the six day use pavilions which include barbecue grills, picnic tables, and restroom facilities. 
-Swimming in the Gulf of Mexico along the mile long shoreline within the state park. 
-Wildlife spotting of such species as sea turtles, stingrays, fish, and dolphins. 
HOURS/ FEES
-Park is open 365 days a year from 8 AM to sundown.
-They use entrance fee is $6 per vehicle, $4 for a single occupant vehicle, and $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists.
-Pavilion rental is $100 per day.
-Camping is $30 per night plus tax, $6.70 reservation fee, and $7 nightly utility fee for RV campers using water/ electricity/ sewer.

The water is absolutely clear over there. I wish we would have that clear here in Jacksonville but St. John's river is carrying out dirt and makes beach water dark. Nicely done video 👍🙂
The water here is absolutely amazing. Sometimes I just take my kayak out to view down along the sandbars. I always see all kinds of fish and stingrays.
I see a lot of camping videos and yours is one of the best.

Very nice state park!! Hope to go there in the future!! We were in Destin a few years ago but at a hotel. Thanks for sharing!! Was it hard to get a site here? Some of the florida key state parks are really hard to get!!
yes it’s very difficult to get a site here unless you’re booking months in advance. If you are unable to get Henderson, Grayton Beach or St. Andrews State Park are good alternatives.

We're going down the first 2 weeks in May to camp down there. So excited. Do you happen to have any insight on whether or not the beach is pet friendly? I looked online and from what I can see it is so long as the dog is on a leash.
So they do allow a pet to be in any day use area like the parking lots, nature trails and sidewalks. They are not allowed on the beach within the state park. Now there are adjacent public beach accesses that allow you to have a pet out on the beach though.
There is an amazing public Dog Bark Park about 10 minutes from Henderson SP. South end of Destin Executive Airport. Biggest Dog Park I've ever been in - maybe 3 acres? Water, shade, benches, and safe. We stay in Destin often and our dog loves that place!
What time of day was your beach scene shot? We went to the beach today at the Destin resort as we are staying behind the resort so it’s close and you could barely get on the beach. Tons of people.. they rent chairs and umbrellas it was a mess! I’d like to take my wife and kids to a decent beach here in destin where it’s not so crowded ..would Henderson work or is there somewhere more low key that you know of ? Thanks in advance!
This shot was taken just after sunrise. I was at the beach today too and it was very crowded, more so than I’m used to in October. A lot of people in town for the Destin Fishing Rodeo. If you really want to get away from crowds, drive west onto Okaloosa Island between Destin and Ft. Walton Beach. There’s a big stretch of beach that’s undeveloped that’s owned by Eglin Air Force Base but they let people use it. There are no bathrooms or shower facilities, but you can just pull off the side of the road and walk over the sand dunes to the Gulf. You may see a few other cars there but you’ll have the place mostly to yourself.

@@MrSalvaan The Santa Rosa beach area can be pretty crowded too. That’s where Grayton Beach State Park is. It’s definitely less crowded than Henderson beach though. I’m heading down to Grayton Beach state park today to shoot a video so I guess I’ll get to see for myself if it’s bad or not.

Thank you. They do not have a beach rental company that does chairs out of the state park since the last time I checked. Pretty much every public beach around the area does though. Appreciate you watching and checking out the channel.

@@omaralejandro2996 they do fireworks several places around here. One is at the Baytowne wharf at the sandestin resort. They also do a great show on the Destin harbor at harborwalk village right where all of the fishing boats are parked.

@@omaralejandro2996 doublefunwatersports.com is where we’ve rented before. They have the double slide pontoons. We even had one break down on us not too long after leaving the dock one time and they brought and switched us over to a replacement boat within 15 minutes. Most of the companies in Destin all charge about the same price. Islandwatersports is also another good one in the area.
