There is a reason the Papa Doble was never on El Flordita's menu and had to be requested. Because it wasn’t the Hemingway Daiquiri. Hot take, but most TH-camrs make this drink wrong by trying to make it fancy and taste better. Which is fine, but then it's not the same drink. Most recipes you find online are actually daiquiri number 3. I just happened upon your channel and love the aesthetic! Great content and bar technique. I love the little history and factual tidbits. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it. These are the kind of videos I like to watch and make so it makes me happy others like them too. Step-by-step, little history, and right to the point.
Both versions look delicious! I didn't know he was a diabetic. It's seems a little funny that he was wouldn't add sugar because of the diabetes, but he drank alcohol. At least he was having less sugar than he would have if he had he added it.
What is your definition of a "Dirty Tiki Pour"? Is it just emptying the shaker into a glass? Thanks for the video. After my first Hemingway I unknowingly asked for a 2d with twice the rum and no sugar.
Yea that is what it is. Instead of straining out the shaker ice you just pour the whole thing in. Oh man! You asked for it like Hemingway would. What did it taste like? Like just rum?

My cheeks started hurting when you poured the lime juice, but I still want one!!
Lol it’s pretty good but without any sugar it is sour.

Nope. It tasted like a vacation in the Caribbean when the snow was falling in New York!@@VintageAmericanCocktails
Damn! THAT, is a potent drink. I might have to stick with the bastardized version of a Hemingway 😂
Hemingway was diabetic, so he never added sugar to his cocktails.
Hemingway was an alcoholic, so he didn't drink alco... uh, never mind.
