  • I've received nearly a dozen requests to show the 405i. On my first call this morning I was able to record a very breif tutorial. I hope this helps those of you asking for this video. Thanks for watching!

Just purchased a 405i to check velocity in ducts on my workshop dust collection system. For those new to airflow measurements, the Testo instructions are sparse. Your video was a great help.

That's the one I use. Works like a champ.

The new app is significantly different from that shown in the demonstration. Most importantly, there is no display of CFM or option for averaging. Raw data is produced, which you can export in a table, IF the app manages to locate your mail program on it’s own. If not, well, you don’t have any option to select a mail app in the Testo app, so what you’re left with is partial, unusable raw data that you can’t export.

Every technician should know the size of there duct

What does that have to do with this video?

Is this recommended for commercial use on exhaust fans to confirm CFM measurements after balacing has been done?

That's awesome, I'm thinking of using this on my PM's too. How would you go about using it on a system that consists of just flex? All residential installations in Australia use flex only lol... typically with a V-box coming off the supply air. Is there a requirement from coil to measuring point?

I have never used one of these before. Does this mean the maximum size duct you can use this on is the length of the rod? Say you had a 20x20 duct could you use this? Thanks.

Hi. Does the software allows you to choose another gas different from air? Or, does allow any correction for gas density change? Can the recorded data be downloaded?
    Thanks!

I've got to do some more reading, but when/why would you use this tool versus the vane type? Are you using these tools more on installs or diagnosis?

There is also a pressure setting, and inside is written "ambient pressure" in what situation it needs to bee adjusted?

Do you know if this can be used for water tunnel? If not do you know of any hot wire anemometers for measuring water flow.

hey! I would like to ask something. Do you know what is the function of this wireless sensor? Is it a normal digital sensor and transmitts the data via bluetooth? how big could be the error of this transmittion and how can affect the measurement?
    Thank you in advance!

The black tip has a arrow on it, and it rotates a 1/4 turn.

+Alex Murphy I've never tested it on ducks either but Ive used it on several ducts... 😉🤣🤣
Its very accurate when done correctly. Multiple meadurement traverses will give the best results.

Too much effort to traverse a duct and too much measurement error IMHO ,.....so I don't have one. It's Florida flex duct and high velocity issues

    • @HVACinSC
      @HVACinSC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Joe Shearer I agree. Finding metal duct around here is like seeing a Unicorn. lol
Its a flex fest here too.
