Its awesome how Lea Salonga is the singer for jasmine and mulan. And how each person looks a hint or more so like their princess. Thanks for posting this!!!!! I always wanted to know who sang and voiced the princesses. I only new Cinderella.
Anybody else ever notice how the actresses for the princesses especially the early ones look like them? Especially Snow White and Aurora...Aurora was modeled both after the actress and the dancer that modeled for the dances.
Actually Snow White was modeled after someone else. It was a dancer they used for the movement who became very famous dancing with her later husband. She was still in High School at the time. "Marge Champion, née Marjorie Celeste Belcher (born September 2, 1919), is an American dancer, choreographer, and actress. At a young age she was hired as a dance model for Walt Disney Studios animated films. She was hired by Walt Disney Studios as a dance model for their animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Her movements were copied to enhance the realism of the animated Snow White figure. Belcher later modelled for characters in other animated films: the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio (1940), Maid Marion in Robin Hood, and the Dancing Hippo in Fantasia." The Disney video in TH-cam said they actually used her as the physical model for Snow White as well. It was not the singer.
Gosh, I always assumed the speaking actress was the singer as well due to the voices sounding so damn spot on/similar. I love all the voices, but favourite princesses aside, Tiana and Pocahontas' singers have such wonderful, powerful voices :)
Lea Salonga has been my fvourite female stage actress for many years now thats's why Jasmine would have to be my favourite princess and Reflection's my favourite princess song.
Thank you so much for posting this. I knew many of them, but it was nice to be able to put the voice with a face of the ones I didn't know. Oh, and a bit of trivia for you...In the Wizard of Oz, during the Tin Man scene, the woman who says "Where Fore Art Thou, Romeo, is the same woman who did Snow White's voice in the Disney Movie. Thanks, again!!
Fascinating to finally see the people whose voices I know and love. It's funny to think that so many people in the world don't even have a clue who played their childhood favourites!
Did you know: In her final years, Ilene Woods had Alzheimers(sp) and didn't recognize a lot of what was going on around her - but one thing that she was comforted by was "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" :')
that's so interesting that sometimes they don't use the same speaking/singing voices. And I wish the voices for Jasmine/Mulan and Ariel/Thumberlina were back again for a third time though that's probably impossible but they are honestly the best voices ever which is probably why they were back a second time.
If you watch a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff, they say a lot of the time that they base some of the facial animations and actual characters on the person voicing them. :)
Those were more elegant times, I guess! Each voice represents what the audiences wanted to hear back then. Rapunzel sings pop while Snow White could be an opera singer.
The Princess and the Frog was an awesome movie I watched it with my friends when I was on a weekend vacation in Maine on TV it was me and 3 of my other friends I still love that movie Ray the Firefly was so cute and funny!
I'm not sure if I would consider Enchanted and Amy Adams to the animated roles, though I did love the movie - and I'm happy to hear they are currently working on its sequel.
The voices of the princesses like Cinderella, Aurora, Belle and Snow white's are more elegant because people have changed the English language and schools have stopped teaching English how we should speak it.
I'd like to point out that almost all the voices for each princess could be that princess in actuality or an older version in the least. IM LIKE MIND BLOWN
The artists don't start drawing the characters until they watch the actors voice them, then they incorporate the facial expressions into their drawings.
I always loved these classic Disney films and to this day I still watch or talk about these films with my friends! Here's my list of my top ten favorite Disney films: 1. The Lion King 2.Aladdin 3.Toy Story 4.The Little Mermaid 5.Finding Nemo 6.Beauty And the Beast 7.Pocahontas 8.Peter Pan 9.A Goofy Movie 10.The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Personally, I think she has the most girly voice out of the other princesses and I like it that way! Others have powerful voices, but hers and Aurora's are quite dreamy and elegant!
Mary Costa a.k.a Aurora's voice is breathtaking! Absolutely stunning!
+JordanK95 She sounded like Julie Andrews.
I think it might be the other way around! Beautiful voice.
Its awesome how Lea Salonga is the singer for jasmine and mulan. And how each person looks a hint or more so like their princess. Thanks for posting this!!!!! I always wanted to know who sang and voiced the princesses. I only new Cinderella.
dominicanbeauty34 I was going to say The second sentence
That Lea Solanga has the most beautiful voice ever
***** k..
Am I the only one who thinks Snow White's voice is amazing?
Yes. Her voice sound like nails on a chalk board!
I don't think there's anything wrong with a high and traditional sounding voice.
It honestly sounds pretty bad to me put if you like it that's awesome! I am sorry if i offended you with my last comment.
I think she could have been a better singer if she controlled her vibrato better, but there is nothing terribly wrong with her voice.
I like it but is not my favorite her voice is very soft and beautiful but it never will top belle or jasmine in my opinion
Anybody else ever notice how the actresses for the princesses especially the early ones look like them? Especially Snow White and Aurora...Aurora was modeled both after the actress and the dancer that modeled for the dances.
wow, snow white's voice actress kinda looks like her, just with a little longer hair

Thank you so much for posting this. I knew many of them, but it was nice to be able to put the voice with a face of the ones I didn't know. My favorite voice is definitely Cinderella's. It's gorgeous to me!

Enchanted isn't going to have a sequel. Wherever you found that, the person was lying.
I think Linda and Lea's voices transition very seamlessly.
she is beautifull.
