XxSolidseth24xX as an artist, a paycheck is a paycheck. Plus the designs and such were already created by other people, so he only really had creative freedom to do his style and that's it.
That protagonist guy really reminds me hardcore of the lead of Quiet Man.

How does Vinny always take any vaguely open-world game, regardless of genre, quality, or scope, and just make it incredible. Even the AI seemed to know Vinny was playing and joined in on his shenanigans.

I actually started playing this yesterday with an open mind and open heart, but I just can’t bring myself to like this at all.
I will say that I enjoy the premise of trying to survive in a war torn country where your homeland defence has been utterly trounced, and the world building in genuinely interesting, but a lot of that can be chalked up to original Front Mission titles and not this utter tripe.
Such a shame. The player perspective, as you said, sounded really interesting to me. It's a shame the technical competence just wasn't there. Guess I'll have to play Gun Hazard again instead.

The game this most reminds me of is Vampire Rain, which is such a bizarre, obscure comparison that I feel like there must be something very wrong with me, this game, or both.

The plot of this game intrigues me, the gameplay of this game, terrifies me. Time for Dan and Vinny to play this whole game as a premium video called "Metal Gear Danleon?"
This is like a throwback to those awful PS2 titles they don't really make anymore. Nostalgia in all the wrong reasons.

The smart NPC may have just sold me on this game (albeit only after a price cut or two).
I saw a news story claiming that this game is set to receive a 60% price cut due to the initial wave of negative reviews, so it looks like you'll get your wish sooner rather than later.

This game seems frustrating to play, not because it comes across as a terrible game, but because it gives the impression that it could’ve been so much better.
I mean, it would be hard not to notice someone just running around in the open like they are.
That crouchwalk animation is probably the worst thing about this game and that's a lofty accomplishment

I liked Metal Gear Survive, and I still don't feel like touching this one. Yikes.

I don't know what it is, but there's something about the way this game looks and feels that makes me really want to like it. It seems like an awful game, but I keep feeling that there's something neat there.

I really hoped this game would fill that Metal Gear-shaped hole, but this really lacks quality. Atleast the characters look like they are from Shinkawa (the first dude was totally just Raiden) and the stealth-system didn't look that abysmal.
But whatever, Sekiro comes out next week :/
