Sherry Nonya' you know Sherry, I didn’t know that Lyrica did that either! I have depression as well.. but it had got very bad, so I was going to talk to my doctor about changing my depression meds or something. Then I accidentally ran out of my lyrica(I’ve been on it for a couple years now). All of a sudden, I started feeling much like my self again! Then I got my lyrica filled- immediately fell right back into depression.. so it hit me that it might be the problem! So I didn’t take them and immediately was much better again! Wow, I’m glad I found someone else that is affected this was, not just me.. thank you for this post!
So glad you posted. I am a follower but seldom comment. You are obviously in a much better place now, both physically and mentally. It takes much longer than we think to get better after major health issues. Viewing the US from your parking spot is an excellent idea. Just don't overdo it. Also wanted to add that my mom always gave our pup (Bodittle) cod liver oil every day for his dry, thinning coat. It worked beyond good. Probably only work if Rufus happens to like the taste. He is such a sweetie, stay safe and enjoy.

Sure good to see you Chico. truckcamp;erjim here in chilly nebraska. take care of yourself buddy. I went thru numerous strokes (3) and TIA's (over 12 in 1 day) but the VA got me on the right meds and now i'm doing well. turned 70 in June. So I guess I'll be around ......
Fish oil helps for the dry skin issues. Add a couple of canned sardines to Rufus' meals. Glad you're recovering again. Thanks for checking in and good luck with your travels, I will be watching out for your posts.
Chico, so happy for you. I agree, you need to get out at enjoy your life. But, it takes time to get strong after so many health crises. A lot of people have mobility issues.....but live full lives. You will probably get stronger as you go along this year, but remain vigilant about not overdoing and trying to keep up and pushing too much. Make sure you take your medical records. Bless the couple who helped you. May they have happy, healthy lives. Picturing you out amongst your tribe is a happy thought. I know you enjoy the company and the freedom. Cheer up Chico, good going on taking your adventures further with your friends. It’s hard to have health issues, I’m glad you have some friends to go have fun with. My hubby and I gave away all of our possessions last year and are now out traveling. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and chemical sensitivities when I was 37 yrs old along with some tendon damage because a dr. prescribed me an antibiotic that does that to people. In 1996 when my hubby was 36 he had brain surgery and became disabled. will be going to places and mostly looking at the beauty also, but that is better than never seeing that beauty. It’s hard to lose your health but staying positive is essential in healing and living life. We know you know that because you always have a positive attitude. Stay happy Chico and have fun with all your rving friends!

******** PLEASE READ ******** Hey Chico I have been following from day 1. We now share a lot of the same issues. I have had 4 heart attacks, 6 bypasses, 2 strokes, Type 2 diabetic with a lot of nerve damage. I take over 400 pills a month. But you know what, I'm 18 years post op and doing great. The wife and I RV and spend part of the winter in Florida. I went through all the same symptoms you just talked about including the mental issues, sleepless nights, worry every time a new pain comes up thinking is this the one.. But Chico, there is light at the end of tunnel and it's not a train coming. It takes time and the biggest battle to overcome is not being able to do what we always did. We all learn to cope and adapt. Your already looking much better and I can see your recovery is coming. Bless you man, maybe we will bump into each other in Florida.
Hector St-Jacques I agree so heartily. My challenges are minor compared to most people but to me the reality of "I can't do XYZ anymore" threw me into a tailspin. What I forgot was that there were 23 other letters in the alphabet of things I CAN do.
He is dead, that is it, no more rv traveling for Chico. So if you are waiting to do something better get to it. We are all going the end up like Chico. I will miss your videos Chico.
This is wonderful news! I think getting back to the RV life will really lift your spirits which accelerates the healing process. a change of scenery after a difficult period is good medicine, that can distance you from those hard memories. Bless all those angels who have helped you along the way :-)
Let me tell you something. Just the videos of what you had to go through and what you are doing to get better is helping loads. There are a lot of us older RVers that do worry about getting sick on the road. Worry about if what happened to you happens to us. Keep doing videos on what you do to get better. Share what we should to, be ready for and such!

Keep your eye out for a used folding type scooter, like you use in the stores. It could help you see some sites that don't have steps. We have been feeding our Dogs granny Lucy’s. They had the same problems. Now after three different dogs no problems at all. P.S. I went vegan 8 months ago and I lost 30lbs and feel great. I would not turn back for nothing. P.S I’m 73. I watched the tube. What the Health. Be Blessed Brother.

I'm glad you're meeting up with Paul. Look after each other. I hope Paul finds some relief from the humidity of good ole Florida. It was especially humid this yr. Your looking much healthier and you sound better. Maybe you and Paul can get some smoked salmon and those jalapeno bread and butter pickles. Lol take care.
Chico, in March of this year I fell, shattered my right shoulder and had to have shoulder replacement surgery. After surgery I ended up with two pulmonary embolisms from clots in my left leg. At the time, I was getting ready to retire and travel full time in August. All my plans went to hell. It doesn't compare to what you've gone through but I can relate to getting depressed and being unable to make the simplest decisions. I now have some neuropathy in my left leg and I'm taking cymbalta for it. About a month ago I got so depressed that I basically spent a week in bed getting very used to tamping down the bad feelings with oxycodone. I finally told my doctor "no more opioids - put a note in my records." Since then I've been doing much better. My shoulder still hurts, I have limited range of motion and my leg still bothers me. But mentally I'm in a good place and getting better. I'm ready to hit the road as soon as I can manage to decide what I'll be traveling in. That's one decision that still eludes me. LOL I worry about what I can and can't do on my own but the only way I'll know is if I try. Waiting for my first grandbaby to be born and once the bank account looks happy, I'm outta here. Just my long-winded way of saying that in a small way I know what you've gone through and are still going through. You have inspired me to not let this quash all my dreams. If we've learned anything it's that circumstances can take it all away in a minute. So do what brings you joy. Thanks, Chico.

Same thing happened to me. My left artery in my thigh had to be cleaned out and patched. Glad you are doing better!

You are looking great, Chico! You sound a bit stronger too. I'm so glad you are going to give the WINS a try again! I hope it all goes well. Keep your eye out for a used folding type scooter, like you use in the stores. It could help you see some sites that don't have steps. I'm sure there are handicapped areas for most of the great wonders we have here to see. I wish you the best! I prayer for you a lot! I hope you are still meeting up with Patrick. I think he mentioned that but I am way behind on a lot of videos! Looking forward to your cooking. Try Coconut oil for Rufus and give him coconut water. A lot more hydrating than plain water. We have been feeding our Dogs granny Lucy’s. They had the same problems. Now after three different dogs no problems at all. P.S. I went vegan 8 months ago and I lost 30lbs and feel great. I would not turn back for nothing. P.S I’m 73. I watched the tube. What the Health. Be Blessed Brother.

Chico, in March of this year I fell, shattered my right shoulder and had to have shoulder replacement surgery. After surgery I ended up with two pulmonary embolisms from clots in my left leg. At the time, I was getting ready to retire and travel full time in August. All my plans went to hell. It doesn't compare to what you've gone through but I can relate to getting depressed and being unable to make the simplest decisions. I now have some neuropathy in my left leg and I'm taking cymbalta for it. About a month ago I got so depressed that I basically spent a week in bed getting very used to tamping down the bad feelings with oxycodone. I finally told my doctor "no more opioids - put a note in my records." Since then I've been doing much better. My shoulder still hurts, I have limited range of motion and my leg still bothers me. But mentally I'm in a good place and getting better. I'm ready to hit the road as soon as I can manage to decide what I'll be traveling in. That's one decision that still eludes me. LOL I worry about what I can and can't do on my own but the only way I'll know is if I try. Waiting for my first grandbaby to be born and once the bank account looks happy, I'm outta here.
Just my long-winded way of saying that in a small way I know what you've gone through and are still going through. You have inspired me to not let this quash all my dreams. If we've learned anything it's that circumstances can take it all away in a minute. So do what brings you joy. Thanks, Chico.
