Maybe it's me but the "G chord" shown here makes me see it as a G5...as in RAIN by...you know those guys...

Louis In Name is correct... It's just another way to play a G chord - 1st, 3rd & 5th of the scale. It's doesn't matter what order you play them in, or if you double notes in the octave... It's still a simple G chord. I love "Rain" by the way by those guys :-) Thanks so much for watching.
