Hellblade 2 kinda reminds me of an A24 film. Extremely niche and more an “art piece.” It’s right up my alley, but obviously doesn’t sit right with most gamers.
Honestly Elden Ring, Death Stranding and ICO are more of a gaming "art piece". Hellblade 2 should just be an "art piece" film.
@@dp27thelight9 I agree that those are art pieces as well. I disagree about the film thing though. Some of the things in the game just wouldn’t “fit” as well in a film. The main one being the “binaural audio,” but this game also has combat sections that add tension. Hopefully NT changes things up in the 3rd game though.
@@rafterman5072 I understand if people are into it, but ya it really needs more game elements for better success as a game. Games like Mass Effect and Metal Gear Solid 4 are as much cinematics I can digest in a game.
You basically remind me some of Sony first party games. Uncharted series, Order 1886 comes to mind. Pretty eye candy graphics and basic gameplay mechanics. Lol.
Dude. Fightingcowboy has gotten me through quite a few games. Currently playing Elden Ring using his guide. Having an absolute blast doing it. Love this dude, and love this podcast.

Re: DD2 fast travel - The “either-or” argument is like going into a cake shop and arguing about whether they should sell chocolate or vanilla cakes. Obviously, if both are there, everyone is happy. Same with fast travel. If it’s in the game, people who like it can use it, those who don’t can ignore it, everyone is happy. The argument about exploring the world more is instantly disproven by thinking of all the open world games like Skyrim, Fallout, BOTW, etc. that we all explored the hell out of, even with fast travel.

My favorite padcast. Good people
I really liked Stranger of Paradise. God Hand is one of my favorite games of all time and Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy is the closest to God Hand we've received and probably ever will receive again. A lot of things about Stranger of Paradise are bad, the level design, most of the storyline until it pieces together at the very end, the equipment system, all of it is kind of trash, but the class and equipment systems as well as the combat are excellent.
Definitely interested in hellblade, shows why your scale is better, I see so many people butthurt about an 8 as if that’s a bad score anyways
Yup seen it with Starfield. Despite being a 86 on metacritic and 88 on opencritc, People still called it a bad game somehow. A game has to a 9 or a 10 or otherwise people will say it sucks.
The best score scales for you to buy a product should not be a number scoring cause there's no real depth to the product itself for the consumer.
I believe, using pros & cons or buy it now, later or buy it used type scoring scale shows better depth when reviewing products or services in my book. Lol.

I interpreted the blizzard comment as them wanting to be regarded as staple in the gaming industry the same way bliz used to be back in the day. I don't think it's that deep or them wanting to model themselves in any way blizzard is currently

22:15 ATOMIC HEART was that game that i was SURE was just promoted with FAKE material. I was so sure it was a scam. Instead it turned out to be WAAAY BETTER than what the promotional material promised
Photorealism, becomes increasingly less impactful the further you get the further you get from tactile realism and responsiveness... Say what you will about Half-Life 2 and it's physics being very tailored, but it feels more realistic to have an environment like that that reacts, regardless of the texture quality. That also boils into player control as well, it's all wonderful to have everything ray traced, but, if I can't interact with the environment, or even my player character, be it in Avatar or a point of view etc...
If I shoot something, there should be a hole. If I hit something, there should be a mark, if I hit something that could move, it should move... I'm not watching a movie, I'm playing a game.
I decided to play outer wilds because cowboy loved it so much and I also failed to get into that game. I don't get it.
Cowboy probably took money to promote it.

I had to turn off the podcast an hour in. Fighting Cowboy is insufferable and I couldn’t be bothered listening about all the TH-camr insider stuff like getting paid to stream Starfield, doing capcom events and having to play alone early. Usually enjoy the podcast but had to check out early on this one, Jesus.
