oNE DAY WE ALL WILL SUCCOMB TO THIS FATE.....Thanks be unto God Jesus has died for us, and arose from the grave for our justification ........We wil shake hands Bishop on that Great Day.....
i never been to this church but i use to watch him every sunday..i grew up in a church just like this tho in ny.it was the tabernacel of prayer for all people..
When i die.. i wont my church family to have church.. i dont wont know sad funeral.. i know its sad im gon.. but have CHURCH!! Celebrate my life by givin God some praise.. I wont souls saved at my funeral.. im sorry.. I cant bare to cry at no funeral.. So Shout and praise God at my funeral..
I have no problem with tears being shed at a funeral...as long as they are shed out of love rather than guilt or for show. Sadness, like joy, is a unique emotion that God gave his perfect creation. I thought the tears shed for Bishop Patterson were a beautiful expression of eternal love and hope that by faith we might 'meet again'.
Ever since the day of the National Funeral, I wondered who that was. I thought that was sweet how she hugged, consoled and ministerd to Sister Lou as they closed the casket for the final time. This got me the day of the National funeral. Sister Lous is so classy and grieved in class. I've told my mom that I want her and my granmother closed when I walk into their funeral should they go 1st.
God rest your soul Bishop G. E. Patterson; when I was at my lowest point in my life. I wrote you a letter, and you wrote me back. I love you Bishop Patterson. I will see you on Judgement Day.
@yungkeyz That is the hardest part of a funeral, seeing a casket close for the last time. I just hate to see people cry when that happens. That why I stand outside of the church after they close it.
Ya'll need to check out The Barrett Sisters singing this song on here under the title "God Be With You"!!! They are awesome but sadly never really got the credit they deserve!!!
@SINGUNTO The reason most people say rest in peace (R.I.P.) to those who have gone on is because they truly understand the New Testament scriptures. For when a person dies though the physical body is gone, the spirit yet remains and lies silent within the physical body waiting for the rapture when it shall be raised again just as Christ was after he was crucfixed. But when I die I want someone or the choir to sing: Ride On King Jesus or Caught Up To Meet Him
Watching the entire funeral one gets the impression that Bishop Haynes wasn't so sad about the passing of the Presiding Bishop nor does one have the impression that he'd miss him all that much.
They Did this ceremony and song this at my Bishop funeral last Friday. It tore the whole church up when Bishop Williams took the necklace and ring off Bishop Bryan and gave it to Bishop Blake.
@UdontKnow8 Yes! I fully agree. I told my family the same thing. Rember my life but praise God for my life and what I have done to better the kingdom of God and the lives of anothers.
Ya'll need to check out The Barrett Sisters singing this song on here, (they have it titled "God be with you.") It has to be the best version I have ever heard of this song!!! Love those ladies and love you too Bishop, you are greatly missed!!! Loved watching you on Sundays and I see that they have taken Bishop off the air this year, but like the song says...Till we meet again!!!!!
This part was always so sad to me. I couldn't bare to see a casket closed on my loved one. GOSH! Then someone wanna sing to make it worse. I just feel like I'm crushedd. = [
@dallaskenn Stop that foolishness. These men served together for many years. Just because someone doesn't weep openly, does not mean they do not feel any emotions. I didn't see many of the general board members actually shed tears but they loved and respected this great man of God. Please watch what you say.
This was a very touching selection...However, I do love the version that is on here done by The Barrett Sisters under the title "God Be With You"!!!!! Check it out...they were awesome to me...prob my favorite rendition that I have heard of this song!!!!!
the saddest part of a funeral(the casket being removed from the church). the song made it worse. it was a nice song but it was a slow song. when we do funerals at our church we usually try to keep it upbeat and have some good church
Why did that lady with the big hat run over there and stand in Lady Patterson's way? You can tell she wanted to see the final view of her husbands coffin being closed..
@dallaskenn WHAT MAKES YOU SAY THAT BISHOP HAYNES LOVED BISHOP PATTERSON SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT SHOW EMOTIONS THAT EASILY I DID MY BEST FRIEND FUNERAL AND SHOUT LAUGH AND DID NOT SHED A TEAR

R.I.P. Bishop G.E. Patterson. Tell my great grandfather Rev. Dr. Joseph Lee, Jr. I'm on my way
You know it was hard because they had to change singers about 2 or 3 times... I mIss you Bishop!! Till We Meet Again!
I watched the funeral and this song was so touching and sweet.
Bettye Nelson know she can just SANG!!!!!
I am so glad to see this returned for viewers.
I don't think that this song could have been done any better than this.

Lord have mercy! *tears*!

They tossed the mic because the first gentleman got choked up... Bettye stepped it to keep it going.

That is not Joe Beunson. This guy's name is Elter Black.
Those who have commented on this video in its previous incarnation please do so again for the benefit of those who are not aware of all the goings on!
