I detected an Optical FRB back in 1990's, just before completing Astronomy 111 course at the local community college. Strange, it was stellar sized, green in color, flashed on 1 second, off 1 second repeating at 60hz and continued for 3.5 weeks, located in the constellation Cassiopeia and has never been seen again. Great topic, Anton❤
Electromagnetic emissions are usually composed of photons vibrating any which way, limited only to being at 90 degrees to the line of travel. Sometimes, that light undergoes any of a number of processes which cause those vibrations to all line up in the same direction, that is, they become "polarized." Visible light reflecting off of water droplets and hard surfaces tends to be naturally polarized, which is why polarized sunglasses are effective at cutting out glare, helping us to see details in clouds, and so on. In this case 3:33 they think the radio light may have passed through or been made by a strong magnetic field, which can focus or scatter vibrating photons, resulting in the light becoming strongly polarized.
Jupiter puts out radio transmissions that travel from.05 megahertz through 40 megahertz and create hetrodyne as it passes right through the c. B. 27 megahertz range. One can hear it regularly!
Thanks Anton, you have to wonder how many emissions we are not seeing because of researcher focus on areas they think are good but are missing vital data from other sources, these LPV signals are a clear case in point.
And in a star system far far away, Anton’s alien counterpart: “Once again our radio signal is being ignored. We have tried sending several different kinds of signals, but they just won’t respond.” 😂

So perhaps their focus of communication is shifted towards other ways since they've developed other technologies than we have.
@@forfoxsake6386 The wow signal was simply a constant emission at about 1420 megahertz. There was no modulation in the frequency and as such it's impossible that it contained a message. There are some videos that claim to be the wow signal translated into sound, these videos claim there was modulation but that isn't true. If translated into sound it would just be a 72 second long clip of a single tone, not very exciting. For some extra trivia; the reason why it wasn't read as being constant strength and instead appearing to get louder and then quieter was due to how the big ear radio telescope which detected the signal worked. The big ear was stationary and relied on the rotation of the earth to point it at different points in the sky. As such a signal would become louder the closer the big ear was to being pointed right at it. Thus giving the reading of "6EQUJ5". The numbers and letters represent signal strength. It would start by counting 1-9 and then if the signal is strong enough start counting A-Z. For reference, standard background noise would be somewhere between 1-5. As you can see, this would make the signal EXTRAORDINARILY strong. This and due to the fact the signal had to have originated at LEAST half the distance to the moon , is why it was considered one of the best candidates for an alien signal ever received.

Is it possible the signal is being gated somehow? If the source is constantly producing radio waves and those waves pass by a periodic system (stars in orbit, black holes, etc.), maybe the emissions making it to our instruments are only the ones getting through the gravity of those objects.
I told everyone a couple years ago to start modulating our star to communicate with the rest of the universe. You use the thing that’s putting out the most power in our solar system and you put data on it. Manipulate the plasma enough that other civilizations can see it.
I mean, we could put some solar panels out there and send Morris code. You just changed the angle of the solar panels as it’s going around our star so that they are either blocking part of the sun or they’re not.
We just figured out how to write data on diamonds so I told them we need to work on encoding or DNA and an artificial intelligence. I told SpinLaunch today, that they will need to build one on the moon since it has less gravity, and we will swing diamonds with that information out into the the universe, and if someone finds it, they can rebuild a human if they feel like it. We don’t have to go anywhere and it will take a long time, but they’ll be able to reconstruct us. You’re not gonna wipe out humanity on my watch, even if it’s in 1 billion years with our own sun : )
@FreejackVesa We could.....if we turned the entire planets industrial output toward the task. And then hope that any of the 1000 stars within the 50 light radius of earth would see it, then hopefully they have a similar modulation plan in place, otherwise they'd have to build it, then wait X amount of years for a reply. But the kicker is that even that incredibly unrealistic plan would, at the moment, be within the most efficient forms of communication we could possibly do. Space is so not practical for intelligent life, yet.
Why not just use radio waves or other electromagnetic radiation? That also travels at C and it would be far easier to build a space based transmitter than blotting out the sun and modulating it with a gargantuan mirror. But what do I know.
Are these emissions unidirectional or omnidirectional? If focused into a tight beam we would only detect ones pointed at us. That may help to explain why we have found so few. Thanks, Anton.

These radio frequencies are created by the heterodyning of light waves from stars. From which the difference produce radio frequencies intermittently as they move about each other beaming their radio signals every which way.
If you reduce the distance from the earth to the sun (one astronomical unit) to equal one inch, then on that scale a light year is one mile away. So the nearest star is still 4 miles away. The universe is big
@@surendranmk5306 ...you don't know what you're talking about. However, there is 100% no way to detect gravitational waves with that, and if you knew anything about detecting gravitational waves you'd know that.
Anton, you may be old enough to remember a Cold War film set in Melbourne, Australia made about another transient radio source. Spoiler Alert: That signal was caused by a Coke bottle caught on curtain string.
Its probably that annoying signal a smoke detector gives every so many hours when the battery is dying. Just ignore it; it will stop once its battery is dead.
Please explain Anton how, according to Simon Holland, first hand accounts from top researchers at the SKA believe this could be an intelligent alien signal?
Is the radio signal AM (Amplitude Modulation) or FM (Frequency Modulation)? Could it be a signal from those guys in "Lost In Space" (pretty goofy), TV show?
Distance and time are the greatest restrictions space has to offer as conventional physics seems to deny any and all travel over cosmically long distances
A Alien civilization would send the same ammount of signals in a given ammount of time but randomize the signal timing in between, this would show that its something special.

That seems more likely to create a signal that drops every three hours rather than peaks every three hours.
@FreejackVesa
We could.....if we turned the entire planets industrial output toward the task.
My job is to give people ideas that may seem impossible right now, but with AI could be plausible very soon
Very interesting, thanks!!!
Anton looking very relaxed now where martial law is over!
Absolutely fascinating... Thank you.
Are these emissions unidirectional or omnidirectional? If focused into a tight beam we would only detect ones pointed at us. That may help to explain why we have found so few.
Thanks, Anton.
1:56 timeframe Shows a Antenna Array Field and Every Small Shrub and tree Totally Fried to Death Why Were these plant life’s Left in the center of the antenna array to Start With ? I Would Think the Plant life would deter the Signals from Full Retrieval ??? Heck The Wind deters my Incoming Signals and I Don’t even have an old antenna or Dish !!!
Oh no. The Bold and the beautiful airings have reflected of from some distant moon.
These radio frequencies are created by the heterodyning of light waves from stars. From which the difference produce radio frequencies intermittently as they move about each other beaming their radio signals every which way.
I've seen enough of Anton's videos to know that this is, in fact, Aliens.
let me guess pulsars as usual which these things normally turn out to be
Stay safe, wonderful Anton.
I knew it... the Aliens are Meerkat Aliens!!!
If you reduce the distance from the earth to the sun (one astronomical unit) to equal one inch, then on that scale a light year is one mile away. So the nearest star is still 4 miles away. The universe is big
Can it be amplified and fed through an interferometer and find any gravitational waves ?
Not with any interferometer we can make. It would take a grid at stellar scale to do that, with more mass than our sun.
@thekaxmax
That's only a joke.
@@surendranmk5306 Sorry, you forgot to use the joke font
@thekaxmax
No use!..... Only those who know the drawback in using it in earth's gravity can understand that.
@@surendranmk5306 ...you don't know what you're talking about. The light signal--already amplified on detection--is already passed through several detectors and analysis systems, including an interferometer. However, there is 100% no way to detect gravitational waves with that, and if you knew anything about detecting gravitational waves you'd know that.
Looking forward to the day you say 'It's definitely aliens'.
Anton. ..can you do a show talking about the new unique/special radio telescope SW of Penticton BC
Hi Anton is there a way to see our planet past by looking far past us with some ultra telescope ? Or by looking from far away, from a distant galaxy ?
Anton, you may be old enough to remember a Cold War film set in Melbourne, Australia made about another transient radio source. Spoiler Alert: That signal was caused by a Coke bottle caught on curtain string.
Its probably that annoying signal a smoke detector gives every so many hours when the battery is dying. Just ignore it; it will stop once its battery is dead.
When Klaatu and Gort finally arrive, they know EXACTLY where to land.
Please explain Anton how, according to Simon Holland, first hand accounts from top researchers at the SKA believe this could be an intelligent alien signal?
10:33 merp derp yerp…never gets old.
one of these days anton is going to say the line "its aliens" one day
Anton and Neil DeGrasse Tyson are You Tube's two brightest gems. Thank you for this post.
Well, you got 50% right.
I'd take Anton over Tyson any day, tbh.
Ouch

Is the radio signal AM (Amplitude Modulation) or FM (Frequency Modulation)? Could it be a signal from those guys in "Lost In Space" (pretty goofy), TV show?
Distance and time are the greatest restrictions space has to offer as conventional physics seems to deny any and all travel over cosmically long distances
Glinda's bubble...
...Does anyone remember the "Woodpecker" signal of the 1970 s received in the Ham Radio Band? Did they ever figure out what it was?
Pro Tip
There are many bizarre radio signals what repeaat themselves at regular intervals.
would it be appropriate to compare these to lighting or thunder ?
Damn it Anton.........It's never aliens !!!
Don't blame Anton, blame statistics and those who studied stats knows it's a beatch.
It is more logical to think that these signals originate from a process rather than an object.
We should emit a similar radio wave so the alien version of anton can make the same video
A Alien civilization would send the same ammount of signals in a given ammount of time but randomize the signal timing in between, this would show that its something special.
This guys voice is up there with
Mike rowe
Morgan freeman
For voice over.
Awesome
Thats violation of taping intergalactic communication.
A violation: possibly; but It's only a crime whe one gets caught.
the flashes are handshake signals.... once a connection is made, it stops broadcasting.
If you think of them as sets of waves from afar it's easier to understand.
Does this partially explain the "wow" signal ?
