Thank you for sharing! I’ve been learning to bend copper wire , if I can make a frog 🐸 out wire that I’ve seen on TH-cam I will order a kit this and kiln !
You are absolutely wonderful and thorough!. I have wanted to start this PMC jewelry making, for quite some time, but very nervous. I was curious on how long to you leave the ring to dry before sanding and firing?. Can I use a real diamond?. Keep up the wonderful work...IM HOOKED! :-)
Hi Joanna, how long it takes the ring to dry depends on its thickness. Generally you'd want to dry it on a hot plate. This not only dries it faster, but also ensures that it the piece is completely dried. Yes, you can use a real diamond, but it would need to set after firing as a real diamond cannot be fired in a kiln. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We're always happy to help!
@@cooltoolsvideos Oh thank you so much!. The ring here in your video, for example, how long did that one take to dry on a hot plate?. I have one here at home :-) .
My parents didn't play pretend with me either... And like... Of all the things they did and didn't do, thays the least harmful. I was still encouraged to be imaginative, they still played with me. They simply didn't play pretend with me. Big woop

Great video Karen! Can you confirm if you fired the ring on the blue rubber ring sizer in the size you want the ring to be after firing? Or, do you use one that disintegrates?
Thank you! I'm sorry that wasn't clear, the silicone mandrel is only used for forming the ring. For firing, you"ll want to use one of the investment ring pellets, that disintegrates in water, in the size that you would like your ring to shrink to. Thanks for giving me the chance to clarify that! Karen
Do you think you will do a video on how to set a non-fireable cab? I’ve ready many books and tips on the subject but still don’t feel confident enough to try it out.

Yes, it is real silver. Once it's fired in a kiln the binders burn off and you are left with real silver. If you'd like to learn more about metal clay please check out our Learning Center: www.cooltools.us/Metal-Clay-s/2330.htm If you have any questions we are always happy to help!
