We hope you enjoyed this one! Have you ever taken part in a gravel event? Let us know how it went in the comments and if you know of a gravel event you think we should ride next!
It was good to see you all mention how technical and steep it was before you’d got to the 65km mark :-) This Dirty Reiver (65km version) was my first cycling event - as all my training was within Lincolnshire, UK 🇬🇧 I had never seen a hill that was 800 feet high or 6km long so so was very pleased to get over the 1500 feet high point and then the fast downhill to finish. Well done to you all at bikeradar for capturing the day really well and for hanging in there for the full 200 too 👍
This is the best coverage I’ve seen of the DR. I’m actually surprised how little it actually gets talked about on all of the cycling TH-cam channels. Well done guys! I did the 65km which was tough enough for me.
Not sure any of us could be called cute after 200km of gravel cycling 🤣 check out Felix and Robyn's summer solstice ride earlier in the year 👉 th-cam.com/video/x39MLdldrkQ/w-d-xo.html
Well done 200km that's pretty epic. I did the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 161km E2E dawn till dusk ride. I bought a foot long subway and coke for food and I will never eat another cycling cookie 😂 My suffer score was high after. It was a great ride and experience
Gravel diaries have been fantastic! Really nice to see that you have continued on with it. All the bike diaries have been fantastic and hope to see more in the future.
@@bikeradar as an expat living down here in Australia I always enjoy seeing your videos make me miss the old country , gravel riding is great fun down here but having lots of trouble with my campagnolo Ekar or at least a half decent bike mechanic to set it up properly maybe wishing I had gone down the sram road ,
@@bikeradar awesome! after 2 lockdown years of concerted uphill effort, I'm now getting strong and light enough to think it might be a good idea to have a go myself!
This should have been the British Gravel Champs race, not the pathetic soft, flat 14 mile course with 3 laps at Bury St Edmonds! This is real gravel riding!!!
15:20 is my cat, Gak. Named Gak because I let my one year old name him and she couldn't say Cat properly. He's a good boy, and loves meeting all the cyclists that come through ♡ pleasure to see you all
I made it into the video 🤣 Well done guys. It was a great event. I set myself the goal of riding it without unclipping but sadly I needed a pee so did stop once. Got round in 9h55. From feed stop 3 to the dam was the hardest riding of my entire life! Thanks for the great vid 👌🏻
Love the fact that you rode it on normal(ish) gravel bikes and not some crazy-expensive carbon weapons. Would love to know more about them, especially the kit and the bike setup you used for such a massive day out. 💪
Great video and well done to the three of you. All the tech please. Does everyone need a frame bag to carry stuff for an event like this or is it just cos you are filming?
This reminds me of how MTB races were like in the early days of amateur racing. I think I passed through that place once. It's a bit surprising that there's no phone signal around there I suppose you'd want a sat phone or an emergency beacon if you soloed around there.
did not even know they made bikes like this scratches my head the daughter bought one i thought it was some off the shelf i wish i was a bike impressed by the video now i want to steal her bike and try it out lol
Good question. Felix was a mere 14 minutes behind Jack, so actually it was fairly close! We all did lot of stopping to film and adjust things on the fly so while it was close, Jack did have longer stops.
@@bikeradar Thanks for the answer! I bet he had several stops for rewrapping his bar tape :D I just found it funny, 'cause working in a shop as a mech, I frequently see people buy tape and be like: "i can do that myself!"... then come back and have us do it after they realised they couldn't ;)
As hard as I tried I ended up 14 minutes behind Jack in the end! Thoroughly enjoyed giving it everything in that last hour. Thanks for watching! - Felix

Thanks for your comment 👍 Great to hear you're enjoying the series, we're excited to bring you more!
I always really appreciate the balance BikeRadar has. Not shy about the competitive side of cycling, but NEVER at the expense of fun.
Liked it at fifteen seconds. Didn’t disappoint!

Such a lovely video. We are stuck in lock down here in Sydney and this has been a perfect escape!
Glad it could give you a some escapism, thanks for watching!
At least I'm not the only one who messes up wrapping a bartape before a big ride :D
Fugio 30 bartape seems to come unwrapping out of the box as I frustratingly found out!
Well done, guys. Very entertaining show, thanks

Always amazes me how late in a very long ride I'm hurting but feel great, even euphoric at the same time [endorphins].
