    Just put a TKO600 in my 89 iroc. 430 horse 355 and 373s. Perfect street combo

    Awesome vid. It's guys like you that steer me towards the faceplated tko! I'm running around 500hp right now in a nasty sbf shiftin at 7200 on borrowed time on a t5. I was almost set on going auto with a brake but I really am interested in the faceplated tko I love banging gears.

    Nice but why are you on buttons for rear tires? I get that it’s 5 inch tire factory but you need a drag radial

    I like the crunch when shifting. You can shift normally by double clutching, no crunch or you can shift without the clutch, just stop for a half second in neutral the grab the next gear. No noise but you can't be in a hurry. Best way is to give 'er the gas, tap the clutch and slam it into gear...don't let up and of course, chirp the tires

    Still sounding great!!! I had to get rid of my EZ-EFI. Had some problems with it. Just got my baby repainted. Turned out great, and I installed a new 2012/2013 corvette ls3 with upgraded cam. Runs sweet and good gas mileage. Check out the video if you get a chance. Well keep driving that thing like it was built to be driven and keep the videos coming!!!!!!!

    I was shifting like that, but with a T5. Now I know why everyone told me the T5 couldn't handle it. I just bought a TKO600 with carbon fiber syncros. Hadn't installed it yet, but I'm hoping I like the gearing. I'm running a 406 SBC with a "bunch of other junk" as you put it, in an old E Type Jag. BTW; you're pretty funny. I made my wife come watch your video when the camera fell off, so you just added narration. We laughed like hell. Like your Beaumont too.

    I tried upgraded synchros, but it didn't totally eliminate the miss shifts. Finally did the faceplate second third and fourth gears. Haven't missed a shift since, and that's everything in bracket racing. It takes some practice to street drive, but I'm getting better. I think soon I won't know the difference. Money well spent. Only wish I didn't wait five years to do it.

      once you get the feel of not using the clutch you'll never use it unless you're racing

    Looking at the Liberty gears tko600 for my build but as going to use mainly on street will just stick to there upgraded sincro and not the faceplate and if want to just chill in it want to not have to keep slamming into gears and also the amount of traffic we get in uk would get tired of it stop/start a lot of the time. Trying to find out if they will ship to the uk also though.

    I'm running a TKO 600 faceplated by Liberty. I'd go go with the T56. With your set up a stick would be killer.

    I don't know what the upgraded syncros shift like so I don't know what the difference would be in shifting quality. I do know that Liberty will try to steer you away from faceplating because they get complaints from customers that don't know or are unprepared to live with a faceplated trans in a street car. My money's on the faceplating. A power shift will barely see a rise in rpm.

    I could live with a little crunching, and the extra cost if the faceplating was that much better than the upgraded synchros.

    It's always been habbit to throttle into a downshift and up shifts I usually don't let off the throttle just side step the bitch ,, heehaw . There's just something about not downshifting 1st gear , maybe it's cause I'm just about stopped

    hey fridgeguy, im considering having liberty do some work on my TKO600, they said I should go with upgraded synchros instead of faceplating because I would get some gear crunch on shifts. What do u think?

    Adding a edelbrock supercharger and a hurst t56 magnum. So what Trans you running ? I really debated over the 4l80 and the t56 magnum. What do you think?

    i just got a faceplated 600 whats the trick for regular street driving, ive heard you got to give it a little rev in between gears or double clutch it, is it difficult to get used too?

      You can't granny shift and when downshifting you have to rev the engine. In normal easy street driving I rarely use the clutch. I shift at 2500-3000, pull out of gear, hold it in neutral for a second and the grab the next gear, down shifting is the same but need to rev the engine before grabbing the next lower gear. Get it right it's quite, not enough revs and you'll chirp the tires, too much revs and you'll get a good crunch. Takes a bit of getting used to but not that hard. It's all about timing. If I use the clutch then I just tap it and slam it into the next gear like in the video. It's a huge amount of fun for an old guy!

      no1dirtbag Its a modification done to the trans. Check out Liberty Transmission. They did both my TKO's. Makes for lightening fast shifts
