Such a fun layout! I scrapbook to share stories with my kids, I love showing them photos of themselves and even family they don’t know! They love it too! The artistic expression is the secondary reason, it’s cathartic for me.
I love your page. I started scrapbooking as a therapeutic outlet to deal with the passing of my brother. It became my passion . I scrapbook so that my sons can have photo albums documenting our history as a family. Albums that one day they can share with their children .My sons are young men now. They love to look at the albums and talk about the times spent together as a family. Scrapbooking has brought my family closer together.
I have always kept a journal - I do so because I love looking back to when my children were young or what happened throughout my life. Also, I can look back at pictures of my late father and my late fiance and remember happy times
Find scrapbooking a good stress reliever, I enjoy the process and also I take so many photos so it's nice to have them printed and being used not just sat in the cloud. Think because I used to have photos printed as a kid I like to have them printed now too. I have started an album of all my old pictures, mix of PL and layouts. Have some really old family photos with people who are no longer with us. I can now flick through the album and look at the memories otherwise the photos would just be in a box. Also got some old school photos, which I share on social media with old school friends, going to print some of these off too and take them to my little boys school as it's my old school too.
LOVE IT!!! I memory keep to be able to look back and enjoy. I also do it for the pretty things! In the famous words of James....it’s not hoarding if goes in a journal...or scrapbook page..etc...lol
I’m totally with you with not worrying if it’s acid free or not. I too create for the process and no one looks through my albums! I occasionally look through them myself for the memories and if I do that then hubbie may join me in looking at them too. Love how this layout turned out 💕
Of course it’s nice to record memories and stories and funny little things that my daughter does and says, but I really scrapbook for the creative aspect of it. I just love using all the pretty things and creating in such a fun way! I do a lot of different crafts and I feel like scrapbooking is where I can kind of do all of it together. I’m the same way as you’re talking about, I don’t mind if things are “acid free” or if no one cares about the albums later, it makes me happy now ☺️
Love this LO!!! Love the way you draw on colours (your dads shirt and the wooden floor!). I scrapbook/journal/TN for the creative reason and the fact that I’m a huge stationary/crafty nerd. Love paper and stickers and stamps and all the stuffs!! Lol
💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 I had to pack up my room when we put our house on the market, we didn't expect it to take over 3 years to sell and I was in such a rut... I've not properly scrapped in all this time, but I have digiscrapped which I still count. Now we are slowly getting settled again I am getting my room back together and am slowly scrapping again (small baby steps) so watching you is amazing inspiration. Thank you
I scrap cuz I have a horrible memory and there's lots of happy I don't want to forget. Also I luv the process, the paper, stickers, mixed media, and especially the pretty! I'm the only one who looks at my albums too!!!
I scrapbooked as a child but that consisted of having an album and putting pictures and ephemera on the sticky part and being done. I have always taken pictures! I’ve had a camera or access to a camera since I was at least 6 years old. So I scrapbook to keep my memories in a place that I can go back and look at. It’s only for me! I don’t have children, or siblings and my parents have both died. Both my parents took pictures of the everyday things so it almost a living time capsule for myself. When Becky Higgins came out with PL it was like a light bulb went off in my brain and said this is what I’ve been needing for my pictures and misc stuff! I guess also, to preserve the memories of the people I miss. ❤️♥️
Oh my gosh! I use the Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine all the time! I've used it to spray and drippy drop on almost every single layout the last couple of weeks! I can't find it anywhere :( Also, thank you for doing boy layouts! It's so hard for me to find scrappers doing that :)
In our family, we’ve always had treasured photo albums. My dad has albums filled with family pics as far back as the 1920’s. When I had my daughter (2000), I loved the idea of creating albums that contained photos of the memories, but was drawn to scrapbooking as a way to also be creative and artistic in making those books.
i create for myself it’s a stress relief it’s to just forget about all the other stuff that’s going on and the end result is for the memory keeping side of it !! my albums rarely get flipped through but the kids luv to see the end result but they won’t want all the albums either 😍😊
I scrap for myself, to be able to look back on my stories and memories in the future and have something that allows me to be much more creative than just slapping some prints in a regular photo album or leaving them all on a hard drive to never be looked at. I like reliving trips I've taken, concerts I've been to, outings I've had with friends, holidays, etc. I'll never have children (by choice) so it isn't anything to pass on when I'm not around anymore. If my cousins want them they're welcome to take them when the time comes, but the process is for myself and I'm happy to let anyone take a look if they want to see what I've created.
I could listen to Adele chat all day. I scrap for the joy of the process and to record the memories for myself. All those little things I might forget otherwise with time.
I love to scrapbook to utilise my creative side, AND tell the stories. I don’t really care where my scrapbooks end up, but I love looking through them!
You described me with how you scrapbook & your album & your expectations with them & the future! I totally scrapbook for the creative process & for me to look back on. My daughter enjoys them but my son and hubby could care less.
I scrap because I love the process, buying the pretty things and doing something for my kids. If they don't want them when I'm gone, oh well, I'll never know it lol. I love your videos.
I've been scrapbooking one way or another since 1999 when my now 21 year old was born! He was 6 months old when I started and I had his first album done by the time he was 1 year old. I've gone and scrapbooked my teenage years and have also gone back and scrapbooked time before my kids were born! I use to do it using the Creative Memories style, now its just Project Life pocket pages. I have gone away from doing full layouts, but recently have been playing with travellers notebook inserts and I'm doing a 10dayproject in layouts! :-) go back and scrapbook your highschool years, its so much fun remembering. Why I do it? for me, for the kids, for our family, I know I love going back and looking at all the photos and so do my kids. :-)
Very cool layout, Adele. Love it! I think your kids will love to look through your albums when they're a bit older. My two kids, especially my daughter, love looking through the albums I make for them.
I scrapbook because I have a horrible memory and my albums are literally memory keepers for me. Also, I love creating and pretty things. Generally I don’t make more than one main album, several layouts to add to the kids memory books, and one December Daily that is all of the month of December.
Love the layout. I started scrapbooking when my granddaughter was born and she is a senior this year. I then started doing layouts about our trips and then heritage pages. I can't believe the hours that I have spent doing this hobby but it is so enjoying. My mom is 90 and loves to see the pages and read the stories. My boys have each been given a Christmas album from when they were little and they seem to have enjoyed them. I'm sure they won't keep all of the albums but will pick what will interest them. They are both interested in ancestry and have a book about our ancestors.
I am 34... and crazy enough just started making a high school memory keeping book. That is so crazy you said that bc it came from going through extra fotos from project life and adding them to my junk journal like you and essie ruth makes do. I came across a high school photo and signatures in a compass notebook bc i didnt get a year book ever and i ripped them bout and began making pages and now it is going to be a full journally scrapbook still working on it i am using happy planner disc system for it. It has been super fun and totally different than anything i had done before.
I have been scrapping since my daughter was born. I started it mostly for me cause I love to play with stickers and paints and paper.but a few years ago I realized that if I kept doing 12x12 pages that I would soon run out of storage space so I have been junk journalling or using Travellers notebooks to do most of my documenting and then really special photos I will do a 12x12. So far it is working really well for me. I have documenting mostly for me as I have a horrible memory for dates of when things happened. But my daughter enjoys going thru the books quite often as well. I don't expect that when I am gone she will keep them all but probably some of them.
Our house burned when I was 2 yrs old so there aren't many baby pics of me so I take loads of pics of my kids and everything we do. I started scrapbooking when my son was born 17 yrs ago because I love bring creative and its such a nice way to look back at the photos
Your kids will love your albums once they get older! My 3yr and 5yr love looking at photos, especially of themselves 😂 I’ve just discovered scrapbooking after bub no 3, I wish I discovered it a lot earlier as it’s so fun and I have lots to catch up on now, but finding it hard to find time now with homeschooling in the mix
I've always loved creating things since I was little and I love taking pictures. So it's mostly a creative outlet for me, but I also love looking back on them and remembering the fun in the pictures and the fun in creating my pages. Some of my first scrapbooks I made when I was little and I love looking back on those! Thank you for all of the videos and inspiration you put out! I don't comment much, but I have watched pretty much every video of yours from the beginning, OG inklet over here. 💕Also I can't wait for the inkie June marathon. 😆
Never fear when the kidlets get older they'll love to look them. My boys LOVED browsing through my albums and they'd make their friends look too. haha...
Thank you for sharing! I started scrapbooking for the creative outlet, and I realized that it has helped by lowering my stress. As I get older, it is now to help me remember everything my family has done. I did do an album of my self growing up, my mom saved all my high school stuff that I collected so it was fun to see all the fads that I went through. You should make your own HS album, you will get a kick out of it. Thanks again for sharing, I love your videos.
I became the holder of the family photos and found albums dating back two generations! One day I picked up my parent's album and all the photos fell out! So, I'm in the middle of rebuilding it and enjoying the photos that were important to them.
nice layout. I love coco vanilla products. I have 4 boys. Is it wrong that I loved it when you pulled the foam off of that button? I scrapbook mostly to preserve my boys' childhood, but I enjoy being creative. A few weeks ago my 19 year old sat on the floor in my scraproom going through one of his memorabilia boxes, and then he got first year album out and flipped through it. Even though your albums aren't viewed much now, I bet one day they will be treasures.
Love the page! ❤️ I enjoy watching your process. I sometimes struggle w making the page look how I want... I scrap for all those reasons...memories for my girls, document life in the now, creative outlet, ALL the pretty things... I have been doing it in some form for many, many years.... glad it is so popular these days! Thanks for the inspiration
My mother has been scrapbooking since she was a teenager, so the childhood of my siblings and I is well documented!xD we love going through them together, or looking at it with mom and sending each other snapchats of silly or cute photos we find! This is more important to us know that we are in our twenties and living in different places! I’m sure your kids will be very interested in your scrapbooks when they get older:)) That said, mom has already started redoing some of the older albums to see if she can reduce the number before leaving them to us😅
I scrapbook because I adopted a 6y old .. I only have two pics of my little one from their early years so I'm determined to make a good record of the life we have together.
This is Inkie Quill at her finest! Love the the stick and plonk embellishment clusters- they come out so effortlessly!
Such a fun layout! I scrapbook to share stories with my kids, I love showing them photos of themselves and even family they don’t know! They love it too! The artistic expression is the secondary reason, it’s cathartic for me.
For me it's the creative process, the time for me and the community of scrappers.
I looooooooooove this!!! WOW!!!!! Amazing colors! Love the little bits your embellished with! Love the bold b&w!!!!
Love, love, love this!! Scrapbook to keep the memories and I definitely think Archie and Violet will have those albums in their houses someday 😉 x
I have always been a stationery nut so love playing with paper etc and I love when the grandchildren look through their albums.

The cross stickers are from Felicity Jane from their Reagan line. Unfortunately, they don’t have them anymore.
Just wanted to say I miss you and I am thinking about you. I hope and am praying that all is well with you and your family. Take care Sherry 💕
Hi I’m only new 💋
