    3:56 correction Neil, it's 160mm dropper seatpost while being quite a bit shorter than other brands 150mm models. That's because it lacks the floating piston which separates oil and air in the common designs. Eliminates common failure point. And you're right, the actuation is sooo smooooth..

      krushiXX really? I measured 150 with my tape

      I believe Jared has a shim in his to stop it hitting the full 160mm. Don't remember where I saw that though.

    Pretty cool to hear the Stumpy was raced slalom and EWS!! I bought a carbon comp 29'er a year ago as a 'do it all' bike that's super versatile and upgradeable, a trail bike at heart, but an aggressive one that could handle chunkier stuff. It certainly hasn't disappointed. I absolutely love the bike. People see a Stumpjumper on the trails and assume its 'just a trail bike', but I really disagree, its a fantastic option for those in the UK limited to one bike if you aren't just doing blacks at BPW or Dyfi every weekend its a great option. Its very light, very tough, has pretty aggressive geometry for a trail bike and as Jared is proving can handle some varied challenges! To top it off, the carbon comp comes with a FACT11M frame! Whats not to like!

      Hey Le French Gardener, good spotting. Wonder what the benefits of this system are?

    • @lefrenchgardener9499
      @lefrenchgardener9499 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice to meet you last Tuesday in WHBPark, cool picture we took all together. The benefits are lightest , just for the weight. I think Jared mentioned it in another video. I am going for the sImilar setting: Cassette/Chain XX1 with Shifter/Rear Mech Simano XT - Just during summer.

    • @mischifer1
      @mischifer1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've actually run this type setup for a few years on XC bikes. Someone I know gave the idea, but basically it comes to preferring shimano shifting but you still get the benefit of the 10-tooth cog on the high end XD sram cassettes and the lighter weight. The cassettes also last significantly longer than shimano ones when you take care of them.
      And yeah sram chain. Best shifting is when you match the chain and cassette brand :)

    Ask more specific questions.. wheelbase, head angle?weight of frame type of carbon of this frame. size of brake disks etc

    • @finncable5466
      @finncable5466 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      He did do size of brake disk. As far as wheelbase, head angle, type of carbon and other questions of that type, why ask questions that anyone who wants to know can just google - they are all on specs website, instead of wasting time asking these questions ask questions that are specific to Jared - like he did.

      Got a long travel stumpy expert. Already swapped the crank for Stylo carbons, got a nukeproof carbon bar as well. Next is those MT5s (bang for the $$) and some better/lighter rubber. Not digging this Butcher too much. For being such a nobby tire, it sure likes to slide in lose terrain.

    Great bike , rides smooth th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing

    • @Baziell
      @Baziell 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Finn Cable Looks nothing like a demo 8 really.

    • @finncable5466
      @finncable5466 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Baziell the point was the demo 8 was well before the orbea and that’s where it’s from not some orbea copy

    • @Baziell
      @Baziell 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Finn Cable Perhaps the idea of a single sided strut came from that bike sure. But on the demo 8 that was implemented in a totally different way. Now just look at a rallon in the mirror and you'll get this new one for about 90%. Still a copy if you ask me. If you disagree that's ok by me, everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

    • @finncable5466
      @finncable5466 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Baziell yes I agree the bikes do look extremely similar and do see and partially agree with your opinion. However I do question this as even the the new Stumpjumper looks very similar to the rallon and not very to the demo, I would argue that it is not a copy of the rallon and even if the bike was designed in complete isolation to other brands bikes would look very very similar to the actual stumpy as it is simply a trail bikes interpretation and trail bikes kinematical design of the demo 8 idea

    Look at the stupid 125mm head tube on that bike. He has to run that stem flipped for EWS races too. He should be on a medium but the reach is a joke. Specialized dated geometry.
