Hi guys,
I went exploring Switzerland during a day trip. we went for a day to Gruyeres which is a cute little village in Switzerland. This is where they make the famous Gruyeres cheese and so we visited the cheese factory. We also visited the Cailler Chocolate factory, where we got to try a bunch of chocolate. We also ate at the village a nice cheese fondue, which is a must try food in Switzerland. And to finish off the day, we went to the thermal baths with a gorgeous view. It was such an amazing day exploring Switzerland, I hope you enjoy this little vlog.

I would say more or less 1 hour to go up to the lake depending on how fast you walk, it's a relatively easy hike (there's also a cable car) and then once you are up there, there are also hiking trails! If you are looking for something more chalenging "Niederhorn" is pretty nice too :)

Helloo I'm planning to visit both and I'd like to know how much time approximately does the cheese factory visit take ? I wanna go in the morning and visit the chocolate factory after it
Hiii! The cheese factory is very small! I'm not sure how long the audio guide is, but you can also visit on your own terms and skip some of the explanations. So timing is up to you, you can even go through it in less than 5 minutes if you want to. Hope this helps :)
Is it cheaper to buy chocolates at the factory? Or is it the same price in grocery stores? Thanks
I think a little cheaper (but don't quote me on that), but there are definitely a lot of options that you cannot find in a grocery store! Or some special edition with pretty packaging to gift too

How far is the chocolate factory from Gruyeres cheese factory? Did you take the bus or train? If so, how long is the ride? Thank you
Hi, I went by car and it's not really far (if I remember correctly ~ 20min) , but I'm not sure how long it would take with public transportation sorry :/

I’m planning to book this Gruyeres gold tour with train ride, chocolate & cheese tastings.. but I dont know if my son can climb the stairs, were it to high ? And a lot of steps? Thank you in advance…

Yes I think it will be no problem for your son it's just a little hill, nothing to worry about and even if you carry him and go slowly, it should be fine too :) it is very family friendly! I think it's always good to have some cash personally when I travel but it's definitely not necessary. most places (if not all) accept cards and if not, there are most likely ATMs around too! Hope this answers your question 😊

Should we book a ticket to get into both cheese and chocolate factories days before ?
For the cheese factory we bought the tickets at the location and it was fine. As for the chocolate factory, we bought them online the day of as we thought they had lmited spots, but you can probably do walk-ins as well. How ever I would advise to buy online since there was a lot of line up at the ticket office (we went on weekend). There might be a package for both factories if you look online so that might be something you can check out! hope this helps :)

Hi, I think this was back in October-November! You can definitely visit all year around, but I do love the autumn vibes :) Christmas is a great time to visit too, they usually put up really festive decoration
